Thanks, just swapped the blower motor. Clip on wires gave me trouble, so I removed the blower motor nuts first to get better access to wires. Could not have done it without you!
Easiest blower I’ve ever replaced tbh. I was having weird squeaky whiney sounds at very low speeds on my 2017 .. I tried to lube it a little and it didn’t work so I just replaced it.. probably would have kept going but the noise just drove me insane. Was a pretty expensive part at Toyota but putting it in.. not a problem at all!
Well done! My first thought after seeing the fuse bar-thingy ( like nothing i’ve seen anywhere before) was to move the wire under the box to one of the unused fuse pins. I’m guessing getting to the wire underside of the fuse box would be a challenge.
All you gotta do is solder the busted fuse to the one thats working and plug it back in. This will create a jump over to the working fuse allowing it be the new fuse.
this is exactly what I needed! thanks! a follow-up question: the fuse with the circle in it got stuck in my fuse box when I tried to replace it... how do I remove it?
Evidently all of these fuse assemblies aren't all simply "plugged in". The hole in the spade connector actually serves a purpose on my 2012 Camry. There is a small pinch bolt that goes through and secures the connection. The fuse assembly will not release until the bolt is removed. To access the bolt, rather than disassemble the entire fuse box, I drilled a hole through the side of the box and removed the bolt. The fuse assembly lifted right out. After installing the new assembly, I put some black cloth type electrical tape over the hole. Easy enough.
Ok my blower has been bogging down now stopping sometimes until I punch the dash then it'll work. What's going wrong bearings in motor or a short in circuit? Any help is appreciated I'm a terrible mechanic and just slightly less dumb at electronics sooo lol
Yeah those Toyota fuse bars are never available in the twin city's, it's real fun when you accidently touch a wire to ground without the battery disconnected and blow it, and gotta find one. Only make that mistake once
I need you to come look at my 2014 toyato Camry I’m having some issues like that with my ac some people saying it’s the ac switch but I think it’s the blower motor. It comes on when it wants to and half the time it don’t but all the lights will still come on
If you just changed the blower motor wouldn't that fix the problem ? The resistor is built in the newer motor itself. Now if you wanted a strong amp fuse I could understand that ya know. Just asking before I do all of this . Thanks
The resistor is in the blower on this vehicle I think. Fuses are usually twice the amperage of whatever you are using. It's best to use the same amp fuse. Hope this answers your questions.
I need to know the part number to the resistor motor blower for a 2014.5 Toyota Camry xle. Can u please help? Where can I find that info. Also for the blower itself.
The resistor is in the motor on these. There are many different brands of aftermarket blowers for this. If you want a factory one, call the dealer, and get a part number from them. Ebay, amazon, rock auto, etc. All have these.
Thank you so very much for ur info. One more thing. I changed the cabin filter and the air started blowing thru the vents, I was so exited. But when I turned the car off the same problem occurred. No air coming thru vents. I tapped the area underneath the blower motor and then I hear it start and the ac (air ) comes on . So everytime the air doesn’t come on I kick a tap under the blower motor What can be the problem. Been raining so much here in CA need this fixed. When I have no air my windshield gets so fogged up and I open my windows to help. I need to fix Z
anybody else having problems with these blowers going out every year? I was in the process of refilling my ac and the blower just quit for the 3rd time in 5 or 6 years.
I wonder if it is the resistor, or the motor, and what brand you are using? The resistor failed in this one, and if you are using the same brand, I would change.
YES! 7 blower motors replaced in my 2014 Avalon Hybrid (replaced by dealer under extended warranty…now I’m outside the warranty and my blower motor just quit again-thus why I’m here.)
@@RustBeltAuto sorry, total noob to this stuff, but did you replace the resistor in this video? I thought it only covered replacement of the blower motor and that genius fuse hack.
For some reason, my blower motor fluctuates. It runs, then it starts running slow, then it stops. Then I hit the bottom of the panel, and it starts up again. I'd love to figure out how to fix this permanently. I've replaced the blower motor twice, and it keeps doing the same thing.
@@Suuhdude22 try this. I know it sounds crazy, but I saw another video about this. This guy basically smacked the bottom of the panel (the one you see the guy removing in this video), and the blower motor suddenly comes on. I've been doing that, and, voila, it actually works.
@@yragcom1I had the same problem, been using the smack technique for a year but now i have to smack it many times and harder than usual for it to turn on. And now it turns on and then back off right away
@@RustBeltAuto yea but I took it apart found a circuit board. It's probably something simple to fix. But I have zero knowledge on how those things work.
So the parts location & the fix is the exact same across all models, in both the 6th(07-11), AND 7th gen(12-17) Camry? Also, is it same setup across all models(exl hybrid)?
The fuse bar fix is the perfect example of a MECHANIC vs a parts changer. Anyone can swap a part but a mechanic can solve problems. Well done.
Genius!! Someone get this man a medal.

Only a few cuss words were uttered for this one. Much easier on the 2005 model
This worked for my 2012 Toyota Highlander, thank you for your creativity, I appreciate it.

You could use an unused fuse I suppose.
Impervising is the way . A master way to get the job done good video
Nice job! Thinking out side of the fuse box. Literally and figuratively.
Ingenious! Outstanding job!
Nice fix 👍.
I would have done the same but it would have looked a hell of a lot messier than your fix does.
This video just helped me out big time!!! Thanks you so much.

What a goofy design, the fuse is harder to replace than the motor!
If ya could wait 2-3 days it’s very simple to replace, too!
Love the enginuity!

Might be an old video but useful. My motor has been making a noise as if the blades are hitting something. Now i just need a 8mm socket!
He could just went to a salvage yard & got that part for free, anything that fit in your pocket is free at a salvage yard.
Great hack, thank you!
Red wire is what let the fan what speed to blow FYI. Good video
thanks man for sharing this

Banging on the dash is a diagnostic skill, not a fix. You probably have a bad connection. Wiggle test will find that, or the motor is no good.
Have the same problem with my 2013. Had the fan blower replaced twice under warranty.

In a '14 hybrid avalon the fan went out, and there's 12v power at the connector, with the ignition & power off.
Stuck relay? Or...
It could be switched using the ground.
