Sometimes I do use them as seen here; th-cam.com/video/jopvZe5xPao/w-d-xo.htmlsi=54UJzraUGNzR9QdI But with these early Pan books, I have now bagged them as seen here; th-cam.com/video/f3trL1m0fbQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lkcrJve0gLLkqiQE
Another great video thanks Jules. Love pan books and love all the early ones.. Have not seen one of the early hardbacks in the wild but will keep looking. Have a niceish copy of the Memoirs of a Tattooist book and had no idea about it until i saw one of your price guide videos. Great looking book
I picked up the infamous Agatha Christie book you talk about in this video for next to nothing. It is a first printing in decent condition except the cover has come party loose (only the front edge is attached to the actual book block). Would you recommend trying to glue it back, or keep it as is? I don’t collect Christie so will probably sell it on. I’m wondering if amateur repair would adversely affect the value.
Duke of Windsor book, I reckon I've handled that book before and donated it to charity 😂 The Little ,,,,, that was the original title, but in the States it was renamed to Ten Little Indians, later it was re-titled to And Then There Was None. So it has three titles. I have a copy of the last pb edition by Fontana. The artwork on that book and the other Agatha Christie Fontanas, is by a guy called Tom Adams, there is a hardback book you can get with the artwork in a larger size - I reckon its one you would enjoy. I have the moonraker first edition, I knew about this one. I've handled the director's editions over the years. 😅 never had any info on them being collectible. Given I'm downunder I probably have had one of the rarer ones. The pan crossword book hahah, yes I remember reading about that on his site years ago. I've seen crossword pan books too over the years, and I've checked the number to see if its the one he needs. So he has one person downunder looking for him. There has to be a few copies out there, sadly given its a crossword book and most copies likely have writing inside which means most dealers will throw it out.
The Duke book, who knew eh? One to look for in the future. The fontana Christie's are lovely, I've done a dedicated video on them and Tom Adams and that book on my channel about this time last year. The Bond Director's covers are a fairly new thing, but worth picking up👍
@@JulesBurt I watched it thanks, left a comment, about a different Tom Adams book. I hadn't seen the newer one you showed. That also looks like a great on to find. thanks
Thank you. The guy who design the pan logo...is he the Peake who wrote the ' Titus Groan ' series ? I also notice...that ' Occtopussy has a story ...' The Living Daylights ' a later Bond movie. One of these days i must reread and watch and rewatch Bond books and movies. Thanks again..
Fascinating!
Thanks Bob👍🙂
Why don’t you use dust jacket covers?

Nice one Brett, I'm looking for a copy myself but think they're thin on the ground👍 The hardbacks are out their but getting scarcer😒
Very enjoyable video - thanks!
Thanks Klaus!
I have that AC book, a 1970's version with a rather disturbing cover art... it is in superb condition.
I know the one, still pretty collectible 👍
fontana edition. meant to be the last edition with that title.

If you're unsure I would leave it as is. Well done finding a copy though👍

Yes Sylvan, Mervyn Peake designed the Pan logo and write the Gormaghast trilogy!
Is the 14th print of Thunderball worth anything without the letter..?
If it's in top shape, yes. It's still the first printing of the film jacket.
@@JulesBurt Thanks. Love your channel. Lots of great info. 😁👍
Thanks!
I had those OHMSS & Octopussy PAN books in the early 80s. I think they're in storage somewhere.
Might be worth digging them out to check the printings👍
any material published during the 1950s and earlier about the royal family fetches a good price these days
So it would seem👍
Cool
Thanks!👍
bond here looks bit like a young american actor richard contie
Could be what it was based on?
