- A group of migrants being housed at a Manhattan hotel refused to be transferred to a new facility at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, leading to protests involving dozens of people Sunday night into Monday morning. NBC New York’s Gaby Acevedo reports.
I can't imagine going to another country, being a burden to that country and feeling entitled while making demands. Smh.

They got to stay in a luxury apartment I have never had that luxury. And I got it for free. Well we had to pay for it but it was still free for them. And some of them are working. And they get to keep all of their money. They had it so good in these luxury hotels where they were drinking and partying in bringing in . Hot plate and I believe the hotel's got tired of them. But you can't complain about the food. Who don't love American food. And it was free and they're talking about cutting citizens off of EBT. Wow they're throwing our food in to the trash. But I feel like the citizens of the New York City sins but not complaining enough.

This is crazy. I’m a 70yo disabled veteran and I live in a broken down motorhome with no electric or water on Long Island. I’ve been told I make to much money to get food stamps so I get food from a church about a mile away. I wish I could get what these immigrants are getting. I hope they are taken care of but I need help also. I’ve tried every governmental agency for help with absolutely no luck. I’m extremely frustrated and I am lost with no hope. Damn!

What's inhumane is that many Americans have been homeless since I can remember. Seniors have to choose between their meds and food because social security can't cover both. What's inhumane is the lack of healthcare for people, especially the mentally ill. Veterans who served this country are homeless and broke. I’ve worked as a emergency nurse and ICU nurse for over 20 yrs. The number one cause for patients visiting ER is drug related causes, United States has a drug problem, drug use intervention must be started by parents and elementary schools to reduce the use of any kind of drug prescribed or illegal drugs. The Cartels have already declared war on U.S.A. Over 100,000 young people die each year due to drug use, and we are appalled that a 100,000 citizens of Ukraine are killed in their on going war. This government has to declare war on these cartels.

Cheaper to Deport than Support
Complains about the rooms being too cold but than they're willing to sleep on the street in freezing temperatures. The single migrant men even resisted giving up their rooms for migrant families(women and children). So single illegal migrants who have barely been here and they are feel entitled to turn away not other illegal immigrants but families cause they claim it's "too" cold. Perhaps you should have stayed in Mexico if you prefer warm weather. These men seem to be pretty well dressed for refugees compared to the legal homeless citizens I see on the street.
I love seeing the women with tons of kids, all in new clothes , pushing a brand new stroller courtesy of the taxpayers. They're out shopping during the day while taxpayers are at work paying for their little amenities. What's wrong with that picture???

I work at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal now. I must say they somehow found a way to heat the place adequately in the winter. It's a hot inside but frigid outside.
Nice luggage, new upscale clothing, new tents, great sneakers. They got spoilt living in a luxury hotel with amenities while NYC residents got the privilege of sleeping where ever they could find a spot.

Your not lying the they showed multiple dudes that had an entire outfit that cost hundreds of us dollars like a couple months worth of rent where their from (the nike shoes and new era hat could range close to 200+ ALONE and it looked relativity new), when i imagined people struggling and looking for asylum i thought theyd look like the homeless on the street.

I work my ass off 24/7, just so that I could earn enough to pay my rent and put food on the table. In NewYork, we pay a significant portion of our earning in federal and state tax hoping that it will contribute in making the city cleaner and safer. You can literally smell shits in most of the subway stations, and I am sure everyone knows about the growing crime rate.
I have nothing against anyone. I am an immigrant myself but I strongly believe that a country needs to have law and order. I came to America legally in a work/study visa. I did not came here to be a burden for the country or to the taxpayers but to work hard and do everything in my capacity to live an American dream. I am proud of the life I am living, today, and for this I would forever be thankful to America.
