It’s how you combine your food. Don’t mix fats like almond butter with fruit. Don’t eat fast digesting food after eating harder digesting food.

I am terribly constipated and bloated most of the time. I was diagnosed with leaky gut. Is it ok to introduce raw green smoothies, and probiotics to my diet?

Hi Dr. Goldner. Is it okay to replace some of the fresh greens in smoothies with frozen, like frozen kale and/or spinach, even though they're not technically raw? It's not always easy to find good quality fresh greens where I live, at least not in the amount required on the protocol. Fresh vegetables and fruits are also generally quite expensive and as a single mum with a low income it's hard for me to afford :(

Do you belong to Costco? They have great prices. I get my power greens a big bag there for 5.00 organic and a huge bag of organic precut broccoli and frozen organic blueberries all from Costco.

I love you Dr. G!!! I don’t mean to send mixed signals if that’s what my other message seems like. My goal this summer is to learn a wfpb diet & incorporate smoothies before just going back to the complete smoothie raw veg regimen. I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone. Raw & greenies are the way! I love further researching & all the plant based docs reiterating the amazing benefits of raw GREENIES & raw cruciferous veg & the benefits of mostly raw for healing! (In some cases, lightly steamed if needed). I love this wfpb lifestyle & just think it’s very cool to help remind each other of how to stay in tuned to safety & little reminders of what not to do & bad combos as well as the amazing benefit of the right combos. What about mostly raw cheats like a raw veg sand which on clean sourdough or Ezekiel bread? Or as far as a reboot maybe it should be all raw for 6 wks & then see where your at. My advice would be, just continue on with the protocol because you will be surprised how you start to miss green smoothies! Also nothing beats a good blender like the Vitamix! As far as the bloating, I would say don’t worry it happens but gets better! A little bloating can help take your mind off other things like pain. Drink your water & hang in there. You are a part of something real & it will get better!!! I’m looking to getting my inflammation numbers down & pushing my self discipline into activation mode in order to reap rewards. I know patience, consistency, & a positive attitude each day will help me on this journey. I got my calendar outlined & ready to go! Even if this all takes time I know it’s worth it!

Common sense is if you’re constantly eating all the bad foods and then you add a green smoothie with no fasting, then no matter what, you’re always going to be bloated. This protocol works so much better when you’re 100% committed to getting your health back without trying to be healthy and also adding all the wrong foods that got you sick in the first place. I would say that probably 25% of people are actually 100% committed. The other 75% are just there to waste your time. Also, I think depending on how many years you’ve been continuously stuffing your mouth with bad food, then that’s how long you should fast before converting over to green smoothies

broccoli and cauliflower do that. so I thin just drinking green juices and smoothies is helpful when feeling bloated

Wouldn’t you say that a PROBIOTIC is a great choice to help your body adjust & keep you regular? I know when I stopped coffee (&beer) I had the same problem. I find that a lot of flax & chia makes a big difference. Off the liquid diet I grew for a love of beans that changed my life. It was like just a few weeks of chick pea “tuna salad” & black beans & peas & my body changed. I started to crave beans the same way now I crave greens. The chia & flax keep me full & regular. I know Dr. Brooke Goldner focuses on her raw cruciferous veggies & green smoothie protocol. My question is for those transferring to a wfpb diet & incorporating lots of raw veggies, green smoothies & being curious about supplements. I wish for a safety reminder especially in these times of covid 19. Lots of talk about supplementing with vit C but beware of the oxalate consequence with high oxalate greens like spinach & I believe even some nuts like cashews. I ran across an old Dr. Gregor report & was so grateful because our household had started vit c supplements. It’s just scary when you make dumb mistakes & I wish we could all be reminded of how to be always safe & smart so we can be our strongest best healthy self.

Every vegan or vegetarian should take at least every second day early in the morning on an empty stomach 1 tablespoon (15 ml) castor oil in order to prevent an intestinal blockage, for in the case that you will eat a lot of fruits or vegetables your large intestine will be really filled and you will remark this one occasionally unpleasant, this especially during the night. In this case it will be very helpfull to take your dosage castor oil in good time.

To make choices that you know are worth it to your health & energy. Clean mean lean green! To heal! To have life again! A simple, easy, can do plan! Go green smoothies!!!
