Doug Evans, former co-founder of Organic Avenue, founder of Juicero, and pioneer of the sprouting movement. He has been channeling the power of sprouts and his transformative plans into The Sprout Book and advising tens of thousands of people on the ancient wisdom of sprouts as a food source. Currently living in the California desert, he is sprouting daily, growing a majority of his food in his own countertop garden. He is creating a radical shift in wellness through his discussion of growing sprouts and their healing benefits. This nutritious revolution is accessible, affordable, and can be done in anywhere from luxury kitchens to camper vans. Evans encourages others to achieve their greatest health potential by taking control of how and what they are consuming. His growing venture and recipes have been highlighted in mainstream publication USA Today as well as health and wellness publications GOOP, Shape, Well+Good, and more. Evans has been featured on notable podcasts Marianne Williamson's Williamson Institute on the Sofa, Rich Roll's The Rich Roll show, Joe De Sena's Spartan Up, and Katie Well's Wellness Mamma podcast.
These simple greens promote the fight against cancer:
Broccoli sprouts contain about 30-50% more cancer-protective chemicals, isothiocyanates, than mature broccoli. These chemicals exist in a multitude of other cruciferous vegetables, like kale, cauliflower, arugula, etc. that can also be sprouted from the seeds.
They are low glycemic, and high in about every nutrient you would need:
From vitamin C to fiber, iron, and protein, sprouts are a low-calorie, easily-digestible way to up your energy, strength, and immune system. It only makes sense that the healing power that greens hold are even more concentrated in the core, i.e. the sprout.
Able to be made in any home within 2-7 days:
Sprouting does not require any advanced tools and can be done using mason jars, trays, bags, etc. Can be as easy as soaking seeds overnight then rinsing twice a day before they are ready to eat.

New to sprouting. My first harvest today. 4 cups of lentil sprouts. I had cup as part of breakfast. I was amazed at how crunchy they were. The store bought sprouts I've had in the past were soft. Much better as a DYI

Another reason you can eat even a good amount of whole plant fats and eat only raw, even raw veg/sprouts, and not be hungry, besides calorie density, is that these foods are SO high in nutrition, the brain get's happy really fast and feels very satisfied. Especially if there is enough fat. Fruit sugar is tricky, easy to overeat that though. Great conversation, thanks AJ and Doug!

I’ve been sprouting for years. I’ve always had to use tap water for rinsing wherever I’ve lived . I fill the quart ball jar full of water 3 times when rinsing my sprouts. I stand it screen down on edge of sink to drain throughly 15 minutes or longer shake out any water around lid then lay on side. I’ve never had a problem of mold in my 30 years of sprouting. Thank you A J and Doug a great great show!!! I love so many people are excited about sprouting! The greatest gift to you and your family!

Vertical sprouting is also an option. It’s a cross between sprouting and microgreens. Look it up :)

I had a torn rotator cuff a few years ago Chef AJ. I did physical therapy with bands only. One day I woke up about a year or so after my initial pain and the pain was gone. I had to stop with the weights, but the band were gentler.

I bought his book about a month ago and have been enjoying sprouting. I use smaller straight-sided tall Ball jars (like for canning asparagus). I like broccoli, mustard, black lentils, adzuki beans and soybeans, and a mixture of fenugreek and radish.
