So, Roti and Buss Up Shot are similar, yet different dishes. The thin "bread" looking thing that is used to dip into the curry is what we call "Roti Skin", and Buss Up Shot is where the Curry sauce, Potatoes, Pumpkin and/or curry mango alongside whatever meat you want is placed on a plate or bowl to scoop stuff up with the Roti Skin. Roti on the other hand is where the Curry, Potatoes, Pumpkin, Mango and meat are all wrapped up in the Roti Skin. Usually with Roti, Pumpkin and Mangoes aren't always included and Roti does have more chana (Split Peas) in it, also the Roti Skin that is used to make Roti is usually thicker than the Roti Skin used in Buss Up Shot and has a yellowish hue to it (Probably from the split peas). Personally, I prefer Buss Up Shot Roti Skin and Buss Up Shot on a whole. With Roti I gotta be picking out meat because they still got bone in them.

“Dat fire” used to be on northside drive was the best, I think they closed the location idk why, But on Covington hwy there is “Boston’s, fireside, jamrock, international roti house, Caribbean express… these are in Decatur, Memorial drive as well as Stone Mountain Ga near south hariston rd also has a plethora of shops Basically eastside of Atlanta has the real deal

I am Italian however some of good friends and colleagues are from Jamaica, and Trinidad and I absolutely love Trinidadian food, goat curry, lamb curry, shrimp and chicken, that goat curry looked spot on. They were very generous with the roti that had chicken peas. I’m from Brooklyn ny we have a lot Caribbean joints. All you needed to go with your meal is a great cocktail using Wray and Nephew rum
I'm from Trinidad. The dhal is normally eaten with rice. The oxtail was stewed in brown sugar that's why it has the hint of sweetness in the sauce or what you called "juice"
Bro your sandwich is literally a chicken roti that's what we locals call it but you don't eat it with buss up shot we eat it with dhalpurie boiled dhal grinded with green seasoning and masala it's straight up bussing for all the folks curious to try and don't know how to order in foreign countries here's what you say and say it just like this give meh a large curry chicken roti with slight pepper and kuchela and extra gravy Trust me y'all lives ain't never gonna be the same We have such a diverse culture of all ethnicity our food is simply the best without question

fyi u can eat the dahl puri the same way as the buss up roti cause when i get roti i LOVE the peas so prefer dahl puri and i do the same rip n dip strategy. afterwards you collect the peas with ur fingers with sauce i LOVE IT
