Is this sarcasm? I've been defending palworld, but I've honestly never played it, or watched any palworld content besides this. Was the cow law suit real? Because I was genuinely curious how anyone could sue over that, or even have a trade mark on that design. I was legit wondering if they thought they owned the likeness of all Holstein cattle. 😂 It's kinda easy to take this kind of video seriously, considering that Nintendo and the pokemon company sue for the dumbest things. Not too mention that people have been talking about "Nintendo gonna have a field day with this game" etc. I watched this cause I was genuinely curious if it was as bad as people made it seem. Imo they almost mocked pokemon, some of the color schemes are obviously pokemon, but the design is different enough that pokemon really can't do anything about it. With how much it's been talked about, it's easy for me to believe that people forgot that pokemon doesn't own the entirety of the monster catching genre of games, nor were they the first to do it.

I was gonna say something in the other video but I do think that grintale is less of a galarian meowth situation as it is a Cheshire cat smile situation now the Cheshire cat is usually depicted with green eyes but the eye formation (single long pupil surrounded by colorful iris) and mouth formation (wide toothy grin persistently plastered on the face) does remind me more of a Cheshire cat than it does a pokemon I actually really liked your tierlist and it's nice to see comedic involvement with your community after that video so I gotta say you're a pretty cool youtuber

The plague doctor one is a crow with head feathers that are shaped like the brim and crown of a hat. I wouldn't let that slide even if I do actually like that design.
Both Grintale and Galar Meowth are actually both inspired by the Cheshire Cat from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. You see a lot of Alice in Wonderland related imagery in Japanese pop culture, most recently in the Netflix series, Alice in Borderlands
The issue with Grintale though is that it copied Galarian Meowth’s face 1:1. No one is saying PalWorld can’t make a Cheshire Cat monster (which imo Galarian Meowth is not based on the Cheshire Cat at all, it’s based on Vikings), the issue people have is blatant copying. There’s a million ways to depict “Cheshire Cat smile”

Dumud is absolutely not "lawsuit territory" because this game was in development before clodsire was released. Clodsire was just a very recently added pokemon. Also the whole "sobble fin" thing is kind of not a good point because it's just a fin with two bumps, not even the same shape.
Not criticizing OnADock, but it is a bit ironic that while determining “originality” of the Pals, it was decided that basing an entire character’s design on a fairy tale or legend makes it original. The Pokémon stans that claim Palworld is stealing designs clearly don’t realize Pokémon are mostly if not all either pun gimmicks, also based on legends, or an animal with an element slapped on it
I really appreciate you making this video!!! I’m personally loving palworld and think it brings a lot of originality to the table in terms of a good majority of their designs, and it kinda bothers me a bit that some designs are seen as cheap imitations when they’re not. (Ofc there are some ones in desperate need of redesigns, I’m looking at you Verdash) I personally have a bit of critique still when it comes to Vixy, Nox, Incinceram and Toco toco being in the “toeing the line of legality” haha. Evee is a fox like creature at the end of the day and on that merit I feel like Vixy and Nox should fall in the “same idea, not a rip off”. I would love to hear more about why you think incineram is basically zororark just because they have 3 fingers and wide wrists and fluffy elbows. And with toco toco, they’re a completely different bird than natu, with very different cultural inspirations; sure they share the same colors but I wouldn’t think it fair for Disney to sue a character that is a rat that wears red and white clothing. Another one that I found mildly suspicious was Blazehowl in comparison to Teostra. While a fire manticore like creature isn't an entirely unique idea, the added suspicioon comes in when you consider Teostra has an "alternate version" that is just Teostra but blue, Lunastra. I’m personally loving palworld and think it brings a lot of originality to the table in terms of a good majority of their designs, and it kinda bothers me a bit that some designs are seen as cheap imitations when they’re not. (Ofc there are some ones in desperate need of redesigns, I’m looking at you Verdash)
I personally have a bit of critique still when it comes to Vixy, Nox, Incinceram and Toco toco being in the “toeing the line of legality” haha.
Evee is a fox like creature at the end of the day and on that merit I feel like Vixy and Nox should fall in the “same idea, not a rip off”. I would love to hear more about why you think incineram is basically zororark just because they have 3 fingers and wide wrists and fluffy elbows. And with toco toco, they’re a completely different bird than natu, with very different cultural inspirations; sure they share the same colors but I wouldn’t think it fair for Disney to sue a character that is a rat that wears red and white clothing.

Sibelyx is one that belongs in "Original." As much as I can understand the thought for that placement, since the tierlist is going by sueability, Nintendo and the courts only care if the design is 1:1 or dangerously close. Thought process is not something that should be legally accountable.

Another one that I found mildly suspicious was Blazehowl in comparison to Teostra. While a fire manticore like creature isn't an entirely unique idea, the added suspicioon comes in when you consider Teostra has an "alternate version" that is just Teostra but blue, Lunastra. Kinda like how Blazehowl Noct is just Blazehowl but blue
