@markguyton2868 its apparently the tree of life yggdrasil and supposed to be involved with endgame but is not acessible yet cuz alpha But to enter it youd need to kill the people at the syndicate towers firdt
Mau, the pal with the ability of digging gold, has Au, the periodic table name for gold, in its name. It's one of my favorite names in the game for the multiple meanings of it.
I can't allow you to just skip over the description of Relaxarus lux! "One day, had an idea. Maybe it was about time for a change. Just then, an electric shock raced through its body!" literally the creature had an Apiphany and it changed permanently! Comedy gold right there!
IF you ever get around to Yo-kai Watch, I imagine it would be a headache to cover them all considering there is over a thousand of them in the main series not counting spin-offs.
I think Incineram is based off of Krampus and Lovander is based off of the Succubus. Also, fun fact about Lovander, it apparently wasnt supposed to be 69 in the dex. When the game was still in development, a backer to the project said, "imagine if this was number 69?" Then the devs responded with, "yeah that would be funny."
I joined their discord a while back and honestly, I always got the impression that despite it being meme-y at times, they actually cared quite a bit for this project. Bucky always seemed very excited to share what they were working on and I'm happy they were able to achieve such a level of success with Palworld
"Cattiva" in Italian means bad, but in the feminine sense. Masculine adjective "Cattivo", feminine adjective "Cattiva" I think it's a play on words to describe a "bad cat"
@@allanandriel7448 That's because the word cattivo/a actually comes from the Latin word for captive. You can see how the prisoner=bad connection was created.
Rayhound, with its skinny body, is based on the GREYHOUND, who is famous for being a racing dog. They love it so much that they can get literal depression if they aren't allowed to race. And fast things are often compared to lightning. Especially when dogs are 'off like a bolt!'
0:40 actually, that one apparently was on the first trailer of the game, which came out before Scarlet and Violet, so any similarity to Tinkaton are in fact a coincidence.
I've been one of the only people covering this game the last three years and, I never expected it to blow up like this. For better or for worse with all the drama loll 😅
I'd say worse and not because of Pokemon, rather the team's next projeckt. It's just Hollow Knight with Cappy from Mario Odyssey. I think the 8 million-ish sales in one week has emboldened them to target other indies.
@@TORXINYUEXAVIERSTUDENT I noticed the game because my channel is chiefly dedicated to the monster taming genre, ie Digimon, DQM, etc. Not because of sv
30:38 I actually named Quivern! It was one of a few pals whose localized english names were put up to fan vote in the discord server, and I had a lot of fun coming up with the name. I know it's not REALLY a Wyvern but doing the quiver-arrow reference with quill- it just felt so correct with the Pal's general shape and vibes. Also there's a dozen creature-collector-creatures named after things that they aren't.
as someone who's been pretty positive towards palworld it's really refreshing to finally have someone who isn't just going off on every little similarity to pokemon so much that they start to call pals ripoffs of pokemon just for being based on the same species, or having a body type a pokemon has used before i won't deny there are some that are obviously taking ideas from pokemon and recycling them into other creatures, looking at you verdash but it drives me up the wall when people act like pokemon owns the idea of things like taking a generic lizard frill and turning it into a lightning bolt or just taking a deer and making it blue
True like lambball is definitely just a wooloo, but people saying that Anubis is just a Lucario is so frustrating. They're trying to claim jackals if anything it's just straight up an Anubis(The Egyptian God)
@@divinegaming9640 Lamball... I'd say if you tried to make a sheep spherical (playing off "ball of yarn"), there's only so much that can be done to make designs distinct from each other.
Yeah, as you I am and was during the last 3 years hopeful that Palworld doesnt turn to sh*t. I am glad that people like it so much. But seriously whenever I hear someone say "uh Pals are just a rip-off of Pokémon" I try to imagine creating new creatures without getting inspired by anything known to media. I´m really having a hard time coming up with any design where you couldnt say its a rip off of some sort. Bird-like: uh pokemon did that plenty. Slime like: Final Fantasy, Pokemon, Dragon Quest have them also. Tech inspired? Yeah no, Pokemon has Porygon, Rotom with its forms and uses, Digimon having a sh*t ton of those as well. Gods of any kind: look at different folklore and notice again Pokemon, Digimon, Yokai-Watch and more. I really feel that in this day and age you cant create anything without "ripping off" of anything else. Either by choice or mistake. But maybe thats just me but thats how I feel about all this stuff. Original ideas are hard to come up with when almost anything a regular dude can think of has been done. Feel free to correct me
You are exactly right. It's almost like people could say the same thing about Pokemon. They are copies of things in real life o.o how un original and what a rip off. A bear is a bear, a cow is a cow, and a bird is a bird how dare anyone take inspiration from other things and try to imitate or copy it into something new...shame on you people who have done this for generations...shame...lol
@@divinegaming9640 "Anubis is a rip-off of Lucario!!" And Lucario is a rip-off of Renamon from Digimon, But nobody went up in arms about that did they?
The kitsun's deck entry about hiding in caves reminds me of the story where Amaterasu, goddess of the sun, hid in a cave after someone threw a flayed cow or something at her. I don't remember the details but it's a fun story
To help out, it was due to Susanno burning her rice fields, throwing a flayed pony at her loom, and "killing" one of her maids(they died of shock from the pony). Which led to her hiding in the cave The Tsukoyomi bit is 75% of the way there, idk if they were close friends, but he did kill the God of food since they made food via various disgusting ways. This led to the sun and moon splitting into Night and Day
@@dustindean4618 There were so many opportunities for a joke off of that. Take the "most disappointing descendant since the triple bow" title and get out.
Little correction on the Word cattiva, in Italian it is also used as poor like for example: una torta cattiva (a poor/bad cake) but it’s mainly used to mean naughty or simply evil in a “less impactful” way, and since Cattiva likes to do pranks i think it takes it’s name from that meaning of the word
I'm really liking a lot of the Palmon's. (I'm secertly hoping that they release one that's literally just a flamingo, is called 'Flamingo', and is described as being, 'It's just a flamingo.')
For those who are interested Tulikettu literally is just firefox in Finnish language. And Finnish word for northern lights is "revontuli" which means "foxe's fire"
Interesting thing to note is that the variants have their own entries that seem to build off of the main version of the pal, such as Mau Cryst’s entry telling of how while their tail is beautiful, it shatters when they die, leading to them being treated with great care in captivity.
I feel like people focus too much on the clear ripoff designs and focus way too little on all the cool or gorgeous designs that are actually original. Theres so many of them that I absolutely adore and they should absolutely get more love
Loupmoon definitely has some Jackaloup aspects. This is mostly through the ears and horns as jackaloups (a fictional creature that is essentially just a hare with antlers/horns) and hares are, in witchcraft and other beliefs, closely related to the moon, especially the cresent moon. This would also explain the "loup" part of the name a bit.
Anyone else think Pengullet is a reference to that Flash Game "Learn to Fly" or something? Ya know, were you were a penguin who wanted to fly and used things like Cannons and Rockets to launch yourself further and further?
Seeing them all put together like this really made me realize how much Pal world likes their birds. Looking forwards to the next video. The Pokemon "inspirations" are obvious, but I've noticed more than a few others that I know are from elsewhere but I can't put a finger on.
@@ThePontiac001 Description yes, but design-wise nowhere similar. (And valstrax is the WAY superior jet dragon) Though there are some others which are clearly MH inspired, notably rushroar is basically just a bullfango.
I think its funny regarding Wixen is that you can see it has two pairs of ears, the white ears which are the the actual ones, and the red ears which are actually just a part of the hair hat... Katress probably has the same thing going on with the hair tufts probably being lop ears. The two apparently have a rivalry so it would make sense they try to copy each others "fashion"
I think the funniest part of this game is the type chart, because every type is equally strong except normal which doesn't hit anything for supereffective and fire which hits two types with supereffective damage. So, normal is weak and fire is overpowered, realistic
It's nice to see someone make a video that goes more in-depth into all these pals. As someone who's been waiting for this game to come out since 2022, it's good to learn more about these interesting creatures.
@@PollexLLC That isn't just why. Its the fact that they both have orange fireballs on their hats in the exact same place, as well as other similarities
It amazes me how out of like 100 unique pals, at least half of the pals have some kind of unique animation or interaction. Just watch Depresso in the hot spring
Bushi is "warrior", not "swordsman" (it can be broken down etymologically to "military"+"man"). Bushidō is the "way of the warrior", it has nothing to do with swordsmanship, it was a personal code of conduct for warriors to follow, regardless of their weapon.
This video was awesome! the Anubis being a golden wolf and not a Jackal blew me away, its kinda cool to look at these designs in depth and see where some of them taking their inspiration from, some more original and deep than others
As a massive fan of Lilligant and Scorpions, I don’t mind all the Lilligant-like Pals and then Menasting is an absolute legend. Them when you add that breeding Menasting and a basic Lyleen can get you the dark element Lyleen Nox, it makes using all three feel fun as you got a family of fighters with you.
I think grizzbolts description and appearance about its personality changing when wielding a minigun is possibly a reference to The Heavy from TF2. Does that mean grizzbolt loves sandwiches? (Sandviches)⚡🐻🥪
I think Palworld will definitely shake up the monster collector genre. If anything, hopefully its success will encourage the Pokémon Company to take more creative risks and polish up their next release now that there is the prospect of viable competition for the brand. I think everyone can go back and forth for hours about ‘legally distinct’ designs, but at the end of the day, my hope is that this will result in a greater number of high quality, creative monster collector games that we can all enjoy!
I'm liking the game, mainly the bases and exploring everywhere, climbing, flying, going inside caves, finding eggs. Seeing my pals on the spa always brings a smile to my face.
Eikthyrdeer and Vanwyrm remind me of the deer and bird that are around Yggdrasil, which funny enough is also what Xerneas and Yveltal are and they kinda look like them still the most fun game ive played in years though i love it
Yeah I mean I think people just need to recognize that, incredibly original or not, a lot of these designs just have similar or the same inspiration as the Pokemon people are comparing them to. Dont get me wrong, some are very clearly also references (or if you like "ripoffs") of Pokemon or other games monsters, but a monster thats designed based on the same original inspiration can often only be rehashed so many times without ending up similar to other things made with the same inspiration in mind. The game devs seem, at least to me, to have focused on making a polished and fun gameplay loop than on making EVERY single design in the game hyper original: they took what works from a bunch of different genres, and stitched it together in a way that actually makes sense and works. At the end of the day, that is in itself a skill and a creative one too, and its not something all devs can do. If thats where the devs focus went instead of extra creative designs, I can only applaud it because the game is SO FUN (PS: I dont think theres anything wrong with being critical of designs, I just think many people are so focused on the similarities to things they already know that theyre forgetting to look at the bigger picture of exactly what this game managed to do. it has so many sales and good reviews for a reason)
@@pokerusfreak8194honestly, this whole hate for the game reminds me of the late 80s, early 90s when every first person shooter that was released was being deemed as a DOOM ripoff, imo it makes no sense
Which even then... not a bad thing, like for Katress it's really JUST the hat that's identical to Mismagius's, and when making a bunny-looking monster that's supposed to be fast there's not as many design choices that work better than Cinderace' general design. As for Wixen... I mean the name already dictated it'd look like a fox witch, which was the basic design origin for Delphox as well. Just like with Verdash, only so many ways to make it look distinct but recognizable in its design origins.
@@kymerahYTI'm not saying the game is bad, I'm saying the designs are clearly less than original for some of these. The gameplay could be fun as hell, but what really attracted me about games like Pokémon or Persona is the designs of the monsters that they have, so to see them rip off of some designs leaves a bitter taste in my mouth
Wixen doesn't really resemble Delphox beyond being a fox, having fire powers, and having a lot of hair coming out of its ears. On Delphox it's a stretch to see the sorcerer/mage aspect aside from it holding a stick, Wixen is a much more on the nose interpretation of the same concept.
That's what I thought as the list went on. Sure, there's clear inspirations and some closer than others, but a lot of these can genuinely stand on their own.
Anubis doesn't need a unique name. It is awesome, and Egypt needs more gods in games. If they give him a alternate form pal, I hope they name it Wepwawet.
As far as non-cute Pals go, Cawgnito is easily my favorite. It has a goofy run and a cool design. Also, with Loupmoon: the Loup-garou, which we also know as the Rougarou. A form of Werewolf
Mossanda is also rather interesting in that it appearently produces explosive coconuts ... which it can launch from its DUAL BAZOOKA SADDLE at a rapid rate.
22:42 You didn't mention that, ingame, cake is the mandatory ressource to get a breeding farm running ;7 33:48 Then again, I think a LOT of people would see a personality change when wielding a minigun... Just a thought !
So there are some missed points: Cattiva: It also becomes a coward when captured. Wild ones do not have this trait. Additionally, it's ability increases your carrying capacity, and this does stack, so more following with the Norse stuff. Lifmunk: Uh... it's also a munk. However, I'm guessing it's following the Age of Empires version of Ghandi, because it's ability gives it a sub-machine gun and is over powered (It's an S teir for a reason... and due to a bug that makes it unstoppable). Pengullet: Uh... it's also totally not a Prinny, dude. Hootcrates: In addition to the inspiration, it is followed up by it's ability and drop. In a team, it will buff dark type damages of all other Pals with its forbidden knowledge. Where is this knowledge? It's rare drop, of course! It'll drop a Tech book from time to time, which you can use to buy more from the tech point shop. Depresso: Fun fact: My friends were joking about a Swift Depresso, and the boss I was fighting was a Depresso. It had swift. It's been renamed to Expresso. Daedream: It's ability follows more of a Daemon as well, given once you have it's necklace, you can have it summoned out FOR FREE. A few Pals have a similar ability, but Daedream is the first one you can encounter. Nox: It's ability also 'magically' makes YOUR attacks into the Dark type, following it's magician motif. Flopie: It's ability is to grab nearby items for you, sort of like a passive version of Daedream. Hangyu: It's ability is to act as a 'glider' where it will grab you. Unlike a glider, it goes UP. You can 'safely' h--- yourself to get to new heights. Woolipup: When grazing, it'll drop it's own version of 'cotton candy,' which is very low nutrition, but also restores sanity in a 1:1 ratio. No other food does this! Eikthyrdeer: Yes, it's name is Deer Deer. Also, it cuts wood and when mounted, is the only Pal (I've encountered so far) that can double jump. Cinnamoth: That is its ability, not a lore fact. It will outright poison enemies... which is strange, because poison is usually Dark type's trick. Then again, some dragon moves also catch things on fire so... post attack ailments don't always follow the root type. Cawgnito: I... think it also is good at medicine making, hence the plague doctor mask design. It has no other abilities beyond that other than usual attacks. Leezpunk: When you use it to build structures and it finishes, it'll actually hide it's face to not show it's excitement. This is not the case when building or just walking around. Loupmoon: It's moon moon. Google it. Galeclaw: Actually... well, all birds create gusts, but Galeclaw's attack methods are different from the rest. Most will go to the ground and attack on your level, while Galeclaw remains up and only comes down to tackle you. Also, it's ability is to act as a glider, but it'll carry you so you can STILL use your own weapons while doing so. Beegarde: They know implode, which is a super deadly explosion move. I don't think Elizabee knows it, and since stinging usually kills the bee... Also, more of them in your team boost Elizabee's stats. Grintale: It's unique attack is to literally belly flop onto it's victims. It's great! Some pals have unique attacks only they can learn, and this one comes to mind first. Survent: So, about this one: it is one of the few that can safely travel on water without loosing stamina. BOTW fans know why this is huge, and it applies to Palworld as well. Tombat: So, about dark types: when they are working, they work ALL THE TIME. They do not sleep at all unless you upset them. Tomcat can just flat out do all sorts of tasks, and usually at lvl 2. They're shockingly helpful in a base. Lovander: Hey, hey! Don't you dare not explain what cakes are for! They're used in the ranch for bree- Relaxaurus: YES, YES IT IS. Dear god, I cannot stress how aggressive these things are. Dinobossom will leave you alone, but these monsters? DO NOT THINK FOR A SINGLE SECOND THESE FAT F---KS RELAX! The only time they do is when you are DEAD! Also, for the last ones... they can only be found in sanctuaries, which are guarded by an entire group of people and taking ANYTHING from there is a crime. I haven't visited them yet, but there are some strange things out there, specifically various labs...
Despite all the rumors of Pocket Pair using ai or copying some pokemon designs, some of them are still very good designs at the end of the day. Menasting, Warsect, Jormuntide, Mossanda, and Grizzbolt are my favorites
Pokemon fans feel threatened that Palworld was made with a budget of $10,000 which debunks the excuse that Gamefreak can't do better without a bigger budget.
It’s especially interesting for me, because all the designs I like best seem to be completely original, while all the designs I like least are the Pokémon rip-offs. Makes me wonder why the devs towed the plagiarism line as much as they seemingly did, because it seems that they’re creative enough to make fun and original monsters.
Another little fun fact about Lovander. This Pal is also a play on "lot lizard", a term used in trucker CB radio lingo to refer to prostitutes who hung around truck stops and rest areas perusing truckers for their own night of debauchery.
Protection against the war/drama! Honestly, you may like Palworld or you may hate it with a passion BUT let's all rejoice as Lockstin explains us stuff we were too lazy to think about.
I love it, but even I will admit some designs aren't distinct enough. I know there are only so many ways to make cute monsters, but it can't be so limited that there is nothing they could do.
We have 2 very breedable tower boss,Lyleen,Lunaris,Katress and probably anubis because for some reason people really like to draw lucario and you telling me people thirst for the cloudussy?

33:40 Grizzbolt is very clearly based on Totoro. Very surprised you didn't mention that. Either way, still a great video! Definitely mention that detail if you do any more Pal videos though.
Yeah, the actual issues are reserved to a just a few of the pals... unless everything is just kitbashed models but that'll be revealed true or not with tpc getting involved.
@chrishusted9296 yeah, there's definitely a lot of lift designs, but different enough to be legally distinct from Pokemon, as you say unless they're straight up model rips and edits, but the only ones I'd say that might be possible with are rhe Cinderace and Goodra ones. Some of the ones that look like Digimon too possibly, but there's no way they care as much as TPC would
A lot of these are orignal and nice, but many also feel like "Thats not a Pal, it's a (insert random Pokemon), but (insert random aspect)." Granted some do look like they were in the Pokemon fusion generator
I know many people say that this Pale looks like this Pokemon and conveniently forget that there is literally hundreds of Pokemon making it's very difficult to make an original design without it looking like two Pokemon mesh together.
Loupmoon is based on the Jackaloupe. A rabbit with horns like an anteloupe in mythlogy. The moon is from the were-like nature you mentioned. It's a were-jackaloupe. Since he ignored explaining Verdant in a video about explaining Pals, it's from verdant meaning green or rich countryside, and dash because it's description is about how everywhere it runs, the land becomes fertile.
19:05 I have a large appreciation for the JP name of Foxcicle, Fubukitsune; a combination of the words Fubuki (Blizzard) and Kitsune (Fox). It reminds me of... A "Friend." 🌽 4:16 I also appreciate that Pengullete apparently keeps its pun name across translations too, being called Pentama; a combination of the words Pen (Penguin) and Tama (shot). Happy to have the legally distinct Prinnies in the game, dude. 29:30 Oh yeah, and this guy reminds me of a Koropokkuru. The lily pad it keeps in its mouth reminds me of the lily pad I would see other iterations of the creature carry around as umbrellas. Of all the "not-Pokmon" in the game, my favorite is Astegon (31:46) because it reminds me of Zekrom. Huh, does that make Quivern (30:37) "Not-Reshiram?"
@@minasegazi4000 I don't know who that is, but what I can say, is that Reshiram came to my mind because they are both large, bipedal, noticeably furry, white creatures with blue eyes that could be interpreted to be a dragon of some sort.

About pengullet/pentama's name after you mentioned about this I thought about if the name was translated to portuguese here and it sounds cool too, which should be Pinbala, Pin = Pinguim = Penguin and Bala = Bullet. Also reminds me of Pinball has nothing to do but sounds the same almost.
Okay so I think Lockstin and I are seriously on the same wavelength here cause I named my Celaray "Celery" and I named a female Tombat "Blouge"; combining Blaze and Rouge.
While some designs definately have a "familiar" look, there is definitely still alot of original design here. Theres a surprising amount of lore, and many Pal descriptions are worth the quick read.
I have been waiting for this video and one thing im really shocked you didnt look at is some of the connections between the names and the jobs they do. I had a list but I didnt write them down so off the top of my head I cant think of any, but you totally missed how Rushoar is a mining one and on top of being a rushing boar, it helps get the ore. (by charging into the ore)
This would be glorious, pokemon would officially be dead to me if that happened and if Pokemons current ten year streak of lackluster and subpar games continues I hope it happens.

@@TOMMY716 People have been bringing this up all the time and keep forgetting that when you put dragon quest designs next to Pokémon designs, they look pretty darn different. Like there’s inspiration, but they don’t stick as closely as to those inspirations as Palworld does, pokemon has an identity of its own, Palworld’s a parody of Pokémon, so its identity is directly connected to Pokémon, there is a difference.
Got to give Palworld credit for something I wish ARK had. As long as your crafting ingredients are within the base boundaries, you can use them without needing them in your inventory. Even if they're in chests and not on your person, you can still use the ingredients.
you know, i didnt make the Norse connection before. But seeing that Huge tree i the distance from the first spawn... OK yeah this place is some kinda Norse Afterlife isnt it lol.

that mention in the intro that you like going over and explain creatures from creature collectors may I suggest Spectrobes? Disney's old take on a creature collector
Wait no Behemoth and bahamut are two different mythical creatures Bahamut is the middle eastern one you mentioned but the ones named behemoth is based on behemoth, the counter part of leviathan, the one that groudon is based on (which is also more ox-like than bahamut which is a fish)
Ayyy, you used 'Creature Collector' instead of Pokemon clone/like! That's the kind of character development I love to see. Though ironic that you'd say it for a game that actually, GENUINELY just rips off Pokemon in terms of designs. Heck, Rushroar might as well just be a Bullfango from Monster Hunter, and Bushi is SUPER similar to Sheen from Yo-Kai Watch, right down to the orange flame on top of the hat. Granted, I totally agree. Gobfin is pretty good.
25:26 okay Lockstein I kinda have to stop you there. It’s a purple cat in a witch’s hat. Pokémon didn’t invent the idea of witch hats or the colour purple which are the only two things that are the same between these two designs. They’re both based on witches that’s it. One’s a cat that walks on two legs and wears purple clothes the other is a ghost witch.

Funny enough sounds exactly like "cativar", portuguese for captivate
@@allanandriel7448 That's because the word cattivo/a actually comes from the Latin word for captive. You can see how the prisoner=bad connection was created.

Bushi actually means "swordsman". Bushido is "the art of the sword", as in the art that is practiced by the Bushi.
Bushi is "warrior", not "swordsman" (it can be broken down etymologically to "military"+"man"). Bushidō is the "way of the warrior", it has nothing to do with swordsmanship, it was a personal code of conduct for warriors to follow, regardless of their weapon.

If anything, hopefully its success will encourage the Pokémon Company to take more creative risks and polish up their next release now that there is the prospect of viable competition for the brand.
If thats where the devs focus went instead of extra creative designs, I can only applaud it because the game is SO FUN
(PS: I dont think theres anything wrong with being critical of designs, I just think many people are so focused on the similarities to things they already know that theyre forgetting to look at the bigger picture of exactly what this game managed to do. it has so many sales and good reviews for a reason)
@@pokerusfreak8194honestly, this whole hate for the game reminds me of the late 80s, early 90s when every first person shooter that was released was being deemed as a DOOM ripoff, imo it makes no sense
Surprisingly, a lot of these designs are unique. People keep focusing on the handful of Pals that look like their Pokémon counterparts.
That’s because the people crying about the game haven’t even played it.
Like reviewing a movie you haven’t seen.

33:48 Then again, I think a LOT of people would see a personality change when wielding a minigun... Just a thought !
So there are some missed points:
Cattiva: It also becomes a coward when captured.
They're used in the ranch for bree-
Relaxaurus: YES, YES IT IS.

I'd be interested in seeing you discuss the etymology (and maybe potential type combinations) of My Singing Monsters
Tombat may also be a reference to a japanese monster called the komorineko; a cat with bat wings
This reminds me of one of the Final Fantasy's monsters, I think it appeared for the first time in FFV.
A "Friend." 🌽
4:16 I also appreciate that Pengullete apparently keeps its pun name across translations too, being called Pentama; a combination of the words Pen (Penguin) and Tama (shot).
Quivern reminds me more of flamme from secret of mana tbh
@@minasegazi4000 I don't know who that is, but what I can say, is that Reshiram came to my mind because they are both large, bipedal, noticeably furry, white creatures with blue eyes that could be interpreted to be a dragon of some sort.
@@Atou_Mahogany flamme was the dragon that acted as your airship in the mana series. I dont see reshiram very well. I cam kinda see where people get it, but only cause white fur. Quivern is a built like full dragon, reshiram is built wyvern. Reshiram is sleek narrow and agile looking, where Quivern looks like I could outrun it in a foot race.
@@YDG666 Now that's baller. 😎
Okay so I think Lockstin and I are seriously on the same wavelength here cause I named my Celaray "Celery" and I named a female Tombat "Blouge"; combining Blaze and Rouge.
I swear tombat is just Tom Cat (fron tom and jerry)
fun x)
26:53 Gentle my ass! That thing killed me when I was just trying to mine ore.
XD
I will never not lose it to the fact they literally named a pal Anubis
Hey, gods are public Domain.
It'd be extremely funny (and awkward) if Bandai Namco said "We can do that better!" and releases a Digimon version of Palworld.
This would be glorious, pokemon would officially be dead to me if that happened and if Pokemons current ten year streak of lackluster and subpar games continues I hope it happens.
The only one that I respect out of all of these guys is Cremis, it’s an image of what a flying type eevee would look like. And anything that looks like eevee has my respect.
Pokemon took ideals from Dragon Quest you know that right
According to Pocket Pair, none of their designs have drawn _any_ inspiration from Pokémon.
@@TheMissingLink2 When Pokémon already has 1000 designs under their belt, concept overlap is pretty much inevitable.
@TheMissingLink2 they didn t said that
Got to give Palworld credit for something I wish ARK had. As long as your crafting ingredients are within the base boundaries, you can use them without needing them in your inventory. Even if they're in chests and not on your person, you can still use the ingredients.
30:08 - Fenglope also takes from Feng Shui, as its deck entry relates to inspiring artists
you know, i didnt make the Norse connection before.
But seeing that Huge tree i the distance from the first spawn... OK yeah this place is some kinda Norse Afterlife isnt it lol.
That would explain how violent the game is
Maraith may also be a play on Marra, a Scandinavian spirit that causes nightmares
Fun fact, Subjectively made a video of redesigning Pokemon they didn't like and one of them was a Delphox redesign which looks very much like Wixen
Only Lockstin could make a Palworld video I would be willing to watch
When he mentioned ARK, i got a bit excited. I really like the game and I honestly thought it was kinda dead at this point but seeing someone else talk about it kinds makes me happy.
Cattiva its the femminine for "bad" in italian, not "poor". Its a reference to the pal's bad temperament.
that mention in the intro
that you like going over and explain creatures from creature collectors
may I suggest Spectrobes?
Disney's old take on a creature collector
Don't forget Fossil Fighters!
@@FTChomp9980 but wouldn't fossil fighters just have regular dinosaurs though
@@silversonome5360 Its more the Dinosaurs there r original monsters as well.
Wait no
Behemoth and bahamut are two different mythical creatures
Bahamut is the middle eastern one you mentioned but the ones named behemoth is based on behemoth, the counter part of leviathan, the one that groudon is based on (which is also more ox-like than bahamut which is a fish)
When Lockstin makes a video on a game, it's definitely worth trying
11:10 Don't tell me that the male one's milk is c-
Ayyy, you used 'Creature Collector' instead of Pokemon clone/like!
I noticed it to Loggin is really starting to appreciate the Monster Taming Genre.😎
Bushi is literally just a samurai and rushoar is literally just a boar stfu
There are so many, and there are actually some good designs too.
There are currently 111 Pals and some of them have variants. A lot to collect and mess with.
@@Surkk2960actually 137
Thank god you covered this i NEEDED some explanation on grizzbolt dude
25:26 okay Lockstein I kinda have to stop you there. It’s a purple cat in a witch’s hat. Pokémon didn’t invent the idea of witch hats or the colour purple which are the only two things that are the same between these two designs.
They’re both based on witches that’s it. One’s a cat that walks on two legs and wears purple clothes the other is a ghost witch.
The hat is way too close. I am not joking. The hat looks the same.
@@Snakeninja38 it’s a bloody witch hat they all look like that!!
I was about to comment the same thing. These people are just itching to find similarities where there is none.
Hoocrates also visually looks like that Owl from the old NiGHTS Wii game, "NiGHTS: Journey Of Dreams". One of my favorite games of all time, which is why its such a specific pull. 😂
Glad to see a fellow Dreamer in this day and age 😁 Love NiGHTS and I still do
On that note it would be dope if they add Pals in the future that resemble Nightmarens
@@XG417
Les gooooooooo! 🫡
And that would be lowkey neato.
...and funny enough, I saw NiGHTS in a dream BEFORE I even knew her Wii Game came out. Which is hilarious because like 8 years later I get another dream with her instantly saying "look how big you've grown." And that alone is why this damn game is one of my top favorites. 🤣
I appreciate that you used the monster hunter kirin, to refer to a kirin.
Also the last one he covered is essentially Valstrax
Fauna 😊
I'm not surprised, Lockstin & Gnoggin
made s video about Palworld. Interesting video about every Palmon explained.
2:02 I like how you used Hajime from Danganronpa 2 as a reference here.
5:49 I actually think Vixy's design looks cute.
10:20 Celaray's is my favorite Palmon design.
11:56 Bristla would be a cool Palmon for Poison Ivy from Batman.
Grizzbolt is literally a yellow Totoro. Just thought I'd point it it out, even though there may have been other people in the comments who have likely made that observation already.
As someone who is a Furret Enjoyer, Chillet is my favorite Pal. I haven't even played the game and its already my favorite. Its just a Furret, but a dragon with ice powers! Its adorable!
The community love cold noodle no thought just vibe
2:43 this alliteration was the best way to start my day
