11:23 Professor Onyx's ultimate counts for 21 life since you do the ability once. Then repeat it 6 more times. Definitely not strong enough to win by itself. But is strong enough to turn the tables on your opponents, and you'll need other resources to finish them off.
strong in the 20 life formats, but needs a good wound reflection effect to be game ending in commander.

In one-on-one, it is enough to kill an opponent with an empty hand (unless they've gained life).
I love how people just forget that the Jace mill 20 ult was an archetype all its own basically the first 4-5 years he was in standard (Jacerator). Jace Beleren was basically the rebirth/wincon of turbofog
37:20 Sensei's Diving Top + Aetherflux Reservoir + Bolas Citadel is draw/cast your whole deck and shoot your opponents to death
I absolutely love "Nissa Who Shakes the World" in my Counter multiplication deck. If I have Vorinclex Monstrous Raider in play, she comes in with double the counters and I can immediately ult.
Teferi, Temporal Pilgrim ultimate might seem underwhelming, but:
-You can essentially get those loyalty counters by regular blue gameplay. So at worst you have a pseudo-nuke.
-The bounce CAN be a land if they only have lands. If you can generate infinite mana and copy Brainstorm-like cards, you could theoretically bounce all their lands as long as you cast the ult and kill Teferi every time or you can bounce it.
10:43 the Professor Onyx version of Lilliana looks like Angelina Jolie, imo. But also, Chandra, Torch of Defiance, looks like Scarlett Johansson. Maybe that could be an episode. MtG characters that look like celebrities

Jace is a hottie
You know even the straight up worst planeswalker can the most powerful if you play right. You can combo with it with Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider. You are putting counters on your Planeswaker while it enters the battlefeild, I meant the planeswalker, so you can get -10 mill twenty off the back.
In any format where recursion is a threat, Jace Beleren is absolutely useless. Doesn’t matter if you can pull it off turn one with an additional more expensive piece, there are hundreds of other combos more viable.

The 100 life Ajani can be played with the Felidar Sovereign for a win long as you can protect it.
13:21 I've won games using Ajani, Mentor of Heroes a few times. I play it my Cats tribal deck. It helps buff my cats and when I have a massive army of gigantic kitties, I crack the ultimate, making myself harder to kill. But if you swing at me, you'd be better be ready for ten 20/20 cats on the crack back lol
Dude, let me ask ya: How Ajani's ult works? I mean, I'm new in mtg so thinking two options:
1 - When you ult your life heals 100 + your remaining hp? Example: 13+100= 113? Will it automaticaly increase?
2 - You gain 100 life points but your maximum hp is 20 per standard count so you could "only" heal full hp?

@@brunoracanelli777 yeah. There's no cap on the amount of life you can gain. Same the amount of mana you can create or the amount of damage you can do to some. So your life would be 113 if you're at 13 and crack his ultimate.

@brunoracanelli777 I'm sorry. I didn't respond to the other part of your question. You could be 10,000 life points. Then someone does the "your life total becomes 10." Your life goes to 10 at that point lol so you lost 9,990 life
I've actually pulled of teferi's pilgrim ultimate a ton of times. In the right deck it is pretty good. And the opponent doesn't keep their choice of permanent. It goes to their hand
I did too. I have a deck I called "Oops all the draw power" that his ultimate is very achievable in.
It's not that hard to get to.. But how often do you actually need it.. As in - "I won because of the ultimate and would not have won without it"?
That life gain actually can save you a few turns early into a commander match too
Tamiyo,Field researcher isn't that bad of a mechanic though for EDH. Her +1 is to ANY creature and deals COMBAT damage (double strike draws you two). But like any EDH planeswalker super friends, she's good because her ultimate is less then double her starting tokens. So doubling season/vorni -> ultimate.
Also it doesn't have to be your creatures either, so even with one creature you can draw 2, so an opponent with one creature and you, target it and your guy and draw 2 for a +1
I have tamiyo in my Atraxa Superfriends commander deck. Once got Ugin The Spirit Dragon to pop his ultimate, then had another planeswalker exile him and return him to the field, played a bunch of planewalkers, was able to proliferate him back up to 10 loyalty thanks to Ichorblood gauntlet to proc his ult again, played even more planeswalkers, played teferi's oath, then popped Liliana's ult to wipe my opponents board, Tamiyo's to play things without paying manacost, Ashiok Dream Render to exile graveyards, and then lastly after torturing my opponent, Vraska Betrayal's Sting's ult to immediately give them 9 poison counters, and then proliferated one last time
Wait - isn't combat damage simultanous? But you get 2 anyway if both creatures deal combat damage the same time (it's bit unclear - it's one "whenever" - kinda)? But with double strike creatures or a first strike and non first strike you definitely can draw more than one..

Urza Planeswalker is kinda nuts just from the first ability. Use it twice and artifacts, instants and sorceries cost 4 less, you just need a way to play from the top of your library and you can dump your deck on board.
Teferi Temporal Pilgrims nuke is so good in blue. You already drawn so many cards so you probably have like a counterspell in hand to counter the card they bounced back.
"Are there 3 artifacts that go infinite?" I don't know Nikachu, do you want a list? Two is admittedly harder but three is the easiest thing in the world. On two you have Painter's Servant + Grindstone and Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brightheart eventhough the latter I guess only makes infinite mana.
Nissa who shakes the world's ultimate isn't good on it's own, but any landfall effects like scute swarm, lotus cobra, evolution sage, and like any Omnath could probably win you the game, also Nissa WStW's plus ability is very good for the ramp but the land becoming a creature with vigilance is nice versatility.
I remember back when jms was in Standard we used too have jace beleren in the side board for counter jms because the rules vack then you cant have two walkers called jace in play at the same time
Onyx makes the opponent lose 21 life not 18. I'ts actually great because you have the magecraft so you've most likely dealt a bunch of damage already and after the ultimate if Onyx is still on the board, you still probably have a spell or two.
Also, if WotC is drunk and changed commander damage to include abilities, this card gets instabanned for sure.

If you don't mind, I'd have to respectfully disagree with your opinion on "Vivian, Of The Hunt." The -1 IS the Ultimate. It has two plus abilities. I still very much enjoyed the video as always! Have a great week! ❤
Karn liberated won a game i ultimate it at 1 life facing lethal damage next turn
I love Teferi temporal pilgrim just because I've gotten to his ult the same turn I casted him
Ajunu would be in great in a life gain backfire deck where whatever u gain life they lose life so if u just put in a few forest gain life stuff and back fire stuff then it's amazing
Ajani mentor of heroes + black mana and some cards + zombie wall I think? It’s x/x and that’s equal to your life and you sacrifice it to deal that much damage
A shame he didn't find the actual "Dungeon Master" Plainswalker from the Heros of the realm. That actually kind of annoyed me

Why would you need 100 extra life in commander? Aetherflux reservoir is why. You pull of the ult with ajani and you get to nuke two other players for fifty apiece.
But what about the 3rd opponent?
Basri Ket, put a counter on each creature every turn, is decent, you don't care about the 1/1 token so much, I think they just included that text so at the very least you're guaranteed to have a creature to put counters on, incase they all died already or something. It is underwhelming I'll admit, but it's not terrible either.

I actually took my 3rd loss at a Standard Grand Prix event because of the +100 life ultimate of Ajani, Mentor of heroes. My opponent managed to stall the game long enough to use Ajani's ultimate and pull himself out of kill range. Two turns later, he top decked his board wipe, then used his other Planeswalkers to refill the board
With Tasha. If they have no creatures they have to put their entire library into their graveyard. At which point you just pass the turn and they lose
I could see a some graveyard or delve deck wanting to dump 20 cards in the graveyard

Ajani Mentor of Heroes is good outside of Commander. also not all cards need to be an instant win.
Ichormoon Gauntlets works for this video.. It's titled ultimates, not Planeswalkers, and it has a planeswalker ultimate on them that it gives to other planeswalkers
Kasmina at 17.35 is not bad. her text says, each other plainswalker you control has the loyalty abilities of Kasmina Enigmatic Sage, so you just need either a plainswalker with 8 ability counters on it or another one which ramps up quickly to use the -8 from kasmina, but with his colors.
Saheeli Rai ult into basalt monolith+forsaken monument+ staff of domination. Produces infinite mana and draws your entire deck. Lattice only makes your deck colorless, it does not turn the deck into artifacts.
Encroaching mycosynth does turn your deck into artifacts though I do believe, but it only affects your board. So no vandalblast follow up with encroaching mycosynth. 😆
3 or less artifact infinite combos?? Ummm... I may or may not know some:
1) Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth (infinite mana)
2) Basalt Monolith + Forsaken Monument (infinite mana)
3) Sensei's Diving Top + Mystic Forge + Etherium Sculptor (or any other artifact that makes other artifacts (or spells in general) cost at least {1} less) (Infinite Draw)
4) Metalworker + Thousand Year Elixir + Staff of Domination (Infinite mana + Infinite Draw) (Player needs to have 3 or more artifacts in hand)
5) Salvaging Station + Krark-Clan Ironworks + Retrofitter Foundry (Infinite Mana + Infinite 4/4's + Infinite 1/1 fliers)
6) Chromatic Orrey + Voltaic Key + Rings of Brighthearth (infinite mana + infinite draw (only if you have a colored permanent)
7) Combo 1 or 2 + Goblin Cannon (infinite damage)
8) Combo 2 with Walking Ballista (infinite damage)
Chandra Abaze doesn’t make sense. Where do the cards go after you cast them from the graveyard? Back to the graveyard?
I have a dihada, binder of wills deck and the amount of lifegain you can get is nuts along with a bunch of card draw/treasure tokens....it really is a deck that can do a whole lot of stuff
What do yinzers think about a Mono White Cat Tribal deck in todays meta? My first constructed deck I built a long time ago was from the Mono White Cat equip starter deck when OG Mirrodin began and I believe I have a solid deck locked down for it to work with today's awesome equips. Would you think Ajani be relevant for a good token strategy? Would Coat of Arms combo well with Extraplanar Lens?
Royal scions is one of my favorite underrated cards in MGTA but the ultimate feels so bad
karn liberated is currently the only way to get rid of emblems and reset commander tax
Kasmina lets other plainswalkers use the ult so you can tick up a meh plainswalker that noone wants to remove play kasmina and suprize them with a powerful instant or sorcery 😎
I've ulted kaito shizuki and fetched an atraxa same turn and t was fun
37:28 Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth + Cogwork Assembler make infinite 2/3 haste tokens.
3:33 - the +1 could be good if you have creatures with double strike or a creature with first strike and another without.. Even better if you can get additional combat phases.. Still - you need to be doing somewhat well already (haw a good attack) for there to be any benefit - but it has a potential to draw multiple cars each turn. And if you don't have good attacks - the -2 ability could give you those.
Also - proliferate and you get to the ultimate fast..
6:28 -- the ultimate could be good -- but the better it is the harder it is to get there.. But I suppose it does also give haste to your own creatures - yes?
Ah - Tamiyo, Field Researcher draws two even for a blocked attack..

Tibalts ultimate can win you the game but the trick is pulling it off.

IF you can cheat loyalty on to Tibalt, he can end a game. The problem is getting that loyalty.

Jace beleren I use in standard & it's won me a couple of games in a mill deck
Tibalt The Fiend Blooded sucks so bad simply for the discard at random part, but ultimate is a game ender. Why do you need a sac outlet for it to be good? Just kill your opponent, they can't block, you own all the creatures. Of course the fact the card's only plus ability itself sabotages your own deck and hand, and he's so weak, you'll never get there, and you can't plan to get there, because oppsie you just discarded your proliferate, or your lands and you can't do anything...you can't even plan to draw a card because you discarded randomly.

Tasha is actually - quite busted. Hard to kill with small creature -dangerous if you have big creatures -- kills you if you have no creatures.
I've killed people with jace Belaran. I had a oloro comander deck that's gimick was just rewarding people who were nice and harming people who targeted me and I had jace at 14 loyalty someone thought they had lethal on me and wanted to end me I killed stuff be4 damage and lived and milled his last less then 20 cards. And casted a few things to stabilize. The other players alive drew there own decks out be4 I got to Ultimate again. (The table was drawing 4or more cards a turn and I played multiple ways ways to shuffle my graveyard back into my library...

I use jace beleren's ult to mill myself.
Tasha mills your opponent out entirely if they have 2 or less creatures in deck.
Woah hold on there, less than a minute in and you're bad mouthing Jace Beleren? That mill 20 is usually in combination with other mill in a deck, which while rare to ever reach is quite potent. For 3 mana it's a pretty sweet deal over all after all the card draw.

the reason why its bad i because you have to wait for 4 turns before you can use it, and its not a very impactful ult in general. Just play the new jace
