Cheers mate. Someone engine swapped a isuzu into the Defender I just bought and didn't bother with the glowplug timing kit. They were on constantly when the ignition was on. Plugs still worked after thousands of miles to be fair. I've ordered the bits for this setup.

Yeah that's right. As not every switch will light up i thought it easier to just have the wire running to a separate light on the diagram and folks could just adjust it to their individual preferences. In my setup you would just run the wire to the lighting circuit of the switch, if it's an illuminated switch. Hope that makes as much sense as it does in my head. LoL.

Great post, can anyone tell me what the meter reading should be when I attach the live probe to the end of the glow plug once the ignition is switched on. Thanks in advance
It depends on the voltage of the glow plug. Most of them are 12 volts but some can be different. It'll most likely be stamped on the glow plug near the top.
My son has an 2002 diesel Prado and when it is cold it is hard to start. When the ignition is turned on the dash Glow Plug light only issuminates for 1 second. DOes this mean that the Glow Plug times in the ECU is not working properly.
I'd say so. Should be on for a few seconds when cold. Best thing to do is to get a multimeter and see if power is getting to the glow plug rail. If not i reckon the timer is faulty.
