Thanks to your video I repaired a cb600f hornet, which has the same problem with the pink wire. You can recycle the diode from your old keyswitch, as I have done.
I found a solution and has work for me and a few of my mates I went to the store and purchased needed rapid fix and few dividers and resistors and done the trick cheers guys
Man I’m having a problem getting my 929 running and it felt so good to hear her fire up with the 9 volts. Prior to this the bike would crank but not fire?
Its been so long since I did this, I don't remember exactly. If I'm not mistaken, the fuel pump does not run unless that wire gets 9v. I honestly don't remember if it would turn over or not when you hit the ignition.
@@jesserhay8805 Yeah my fuel pump primes and works when I crank the bike over and when it’s disconnected from the rail gas pumps out. So it seems my injectors are not firing or I’m not getting spark. In my experience most of the problems that happen with the bike don’t allow you to crank the starter so it’s weird.
Also with the converter both red wires will connect to the green and both the negative black and other orange wire will go to ground or the negative on my battery?
Yeah, you absolutely can replace the diode. Just gotta make sure it’s a zener diode that will reduce 12v to 9v (a normal diode only effects the direction the current can flow). I didn’t have one at the time and was able to get the converter quicker.
Okay I have a 02 f4i got new pump in it and it was priming loud and strong but no start no start no start charged the battery up all day came back out and same thing until it stopped priming again??? I resaudered that diode in ignition just incase still no dice, I just volt tested DC20 red pos lead in pink wire where connectors go and I used a ground at my stem I’m getting exactly 9.97 volts is this good?
I’m literally begging somebody to tell me where I should go now I’ve also tried using a breaker wire for my manually able to read codes on dash for flickering it’s just a solid light ignition off, kill switch on I have wire in the green and brown right, turn key on position Fi comes on stays on that’s it no flickering no codes thrown I was told it should start flickering then unplug trip wire within 3-5 seconds put back in and turn bike off this is for resetting the ecm
@austinbates247 You need to go to the stealership. I'm having the same issue. I had a mechanic look at it for 3 hours, and he couldn't figure it out. I'm going to take mine to Suzuki because I can't figure it out. I tried a different ecm, ignition, starter solenoid, tip senor, and kill switch. None of this helped.
@austinbates247 I think it is something crazy because when I research the problem, it seems common, but no one really has a solution. The ones that do figure it out, their issue is not my issue. I know my ecm is not communicating with the cluster and fuel pump is getting no power.

Good video, Thank you for taking the time and effort in keeping us all in the loop. I've found this very very helpful indeed ❤❤
Love the video man keep up the good work gonna work on it tmr and let y'all know the results 💪🏼🔥
Thanks I forgot my key far away and thanks to you I can ride😊❤
i agree with these other guys comments thanks for putting up this video. it saved me from buying the expensive switch.
Glad it helped!
Is it the same for a 2003 honda cbr600rr?
Great writeup and awesome diagrams. Do you know what the diode part number is and where it can be bought?

I have the same problem with a 2002 Hornet CB 600 F, I disassembled the diode is the original code is: 3.9 B2 (may be helpful ☺)
Hope it helps!
I'm putting one of these engine in a hillxlimb bike, won't have a ignition switch just a starter button, do I need to feed that pink wire. 9v?
yep, pink needs 9v. some people have run into issues with just converter so try and run a resistor in series as well. that should work though.
Hi. Sorry I know it's long ago but would you or anyone be able to help me with where that pink wire goes into the ECU?
I have that problem but aftermarket switch has only two red wires one with white line would it still work
so 12v to 9v 3amp converter should be fine?
I believe that would be fine
So would I just cut the pink wire and put a 9v battery to it?
Yes, but I think you will still have to ground the battery to the frame somewhere.
Also with the converter both red wires will connect to the green and both the negative black and other orange wire will go to ground or the negative on my battery?
I got a converter now but I’m not exactly sure how to wire it to the ignition
@@itswil3492 there is a wiring diagram towards the end of the video for the converter that should help
Why not just replace the diode?

@@drjd2real it shouldn’t be anything crazy wires fine new pump fuses are good relays good it’s boiled down to ignition I know my tip sensor is fine
@@drjd2real keep in mind this is the factory oem ignition that has the pink wire

كن انت كما تشاء ليس كما يشاؤون
Does this method work for a 08 cbr600rr????????????????????????
It should, the wiring might be different though
Is it just me or did gary Sinise make a this video?
Not sure who that is, but I’m sure I haven’t been the only person with the same idea
I couldn't hear the speaker.
Iwoud like
My honda 500 atv is doing same thing could this be the issue
Its possible. Im not as familiar with the electronics on ATVs.
Use a 9v battery and find out . Probably the problem
Ok I'm going to tomarrow only difference I can see is that my pink goes into fuse box first
Ty for your reply been driving me nuts for a month
Where do you get voltage converter
I believe it was just off of amazon. Look around for 12v-9v DC converters
Ok thanks I was thinking I could find a store that sells them
@@derrickjackson8528 it’s possible, but it’s kind of an odd ball part, I’m not sure who might keep them in stock
A radio shop may or may not have one...it’s hit or miss
Im getting only 5 volts
Thanks bro. What's FB name or WhatsApp number or email address?
