@@Astke feels like everything is like that nowadays or it is very rare you get something which is ready in release. This is one of the examples why I didnt want to "pre-order" the PS4 and ordered after I was able to test drive it. I'm happy to wait until November to get my PS4 perf when Polestar has had time to fix some of these quirks/baby issues.
Interesting just watched a review from a reviewer in New Zealand and they don't have unlimited speed limit roads well most places don't outside of Germany so he could only max it at 100km/h maybe 110 and worked well for him including going onto country roads where it was windy and more narrow. As for the mirror thing remember anyone who's ever driven a cargo van has no rear mirror they have to use either a camera but also their side view mirrors same for big rigs as they haul heavy large loads and cannot see behind them so depend on their side mirrors. This is no different for me it's no big deal really just takes abit of time to get used to it but it can also be a mirror but you didn't show that feature. Love the lighter interior.
I really like the look of this car, sorry SUV, it is not what I would expect from Polestar, a known performance arm of Volvo. They should have brought it out with more power and performance for the RWD version as well. I don't understand why they went with frame less doors, if this add more noise to the car. I understand in China it sell for the equivalent of $31K-45K but, there are a lot of Chinese cars with this feature (so much that it's not even a premium feature there), which perform better in reviews I have watched. I've heard it said that there is noise cancelling via the audio system which isn't applied or needs some tweak, maybe that will help however, having this done via better acoustic glass and rubber seal would be preferable. That may increase the weight of the vehicle and lower the range, which might be a reason. I think for a relatively new brand, they should sell at a lower price, to increase the volume of vehicles on the road, build their reputation with those not familiar with the brand then add features (performance tune, etc.) to bring up the price over time. As a coupe SUV, it should sit a bit higher and have air suspension, like the Polestar 3. This is more a sedan in a similar size of the Volvo S90, with a coupe look, which should again sell for less than Volvo. There is no option for adaptive suspension when adding bigger wheels/tires to the RWD version, in the US that's $2K for the Pro Pack, 21" wheel/tire and gold stripe seat belts, most would prefer a Sport Package with adaptive suspension. On the S90 you can upgrade to 20" wheels for $800 and $1200 for 4C suspension, granted the S90 B6 is AWD but, it's power output is higher (295 HP 310 ft lb torque), which is where I would have expected the Polestar 4 RWD to be. There are Chinese cars with similar build quality, equipment level and higher performance for less, in the Chinese market, with more coming out. I do understand the price wars in China make them have to sell at a lower cost and tariffs increase the cost when sold as exports. Battery prices are coming down however, manufacturers are not in the business of lowering prices if they can keep it high and make a profit but, I would not like to see Polestar fail due to them pricing their cars too high, while the competition is doing better for less.
Hello Battery life! Please let me understand. Polestar 4 is about 2400kg with 600Nm and manage to do 0 to 100 in 3,5 sec. Polestar 2 is lighter, has 700Nm but still it make more than 4 sec to 100. How ia that possible? Let's say you are in the Polestar 2 at 80km/h and floor it... is the acceleration stronger than the 4 in the same condition? Of course i'm talking about the performance models :) please let me know! 😉
I got to see the P4 in the showroom. It’s beautiful, but the interior feels like the Temu version of Volvo. It just doesn’t feel as solid and elegant up close, especially for the price. I have a bad feeling Geely is going to strip the good bits from Polestar and shut it down.

Hello Battery Life. What do you think when compare Polestar 4 with VW ID7? Thank you, i have lot of doubts
It is really useful watching you explain the infotainment system. I can cross that car off the list of cars to even consider. Too much tech is just a waste of time and money.
@@tomquimby8669 many things but the main stuff from top of my head: 1. speech commands that works really well, 2. google maps that are fast and responsive with integration of range charging stations, battery temperature. 3. Then there is spotify, prime and other streaming media apps. 4. Also easypark app that makes parking a breeze. 5. The software is also relatively stable, constantly improving, based on Googles experience, and on top of that, Polestar has made a nice UI. Granted , for P4 that was recently released there are some details to iron out in OTA updates, which Polestar has done really well with the P2.
compared to what? This is a premium drivers car, and if you compare with Porsche then it is a bargain. But yes, it takes a lot of money to buy EVs, so I totally understand that, I pushed my budget for P2 too, but I am so pleased with it that it makes up for the price
@@thomaswestin9987 compared to xpeng g6 performance for example, same performance, 15000 euros less expensive, has more range at high speed, and a lot better charge curve.
@@etienned2354 you may be right, but chassis and handling, build quality, drivers experience? I have not been convinced by Chinese brands so far. In China luxury is to sit in the backseat with your personal driver driving, but in the west we prefer driving ourselves. Different focus, different experience
The software (i.e infotainment) is an absolute dog shit. I know Android Automotive is used by many different brands but the Polestar 4 version is a complete and utter trash. I don't even know if OTA updates can fix this. It feels clunky as hell. super unresponsive, touch a button wait 3 seconds for it to responds. really terrible!! For a $70K, this doesn't feel like Premium at all. It feels like a cheaply made car. I am not surprised Polestar delayed the US sale for Spring 2025. This car is definitely in its beta testing phase.
Actually even Chinese people look down on this crap as well, they have quite a lot better choices. Audi will be struggling a lot selling Q6L e-tron and A6L e-tron there. Some figures: 1, Only 7,000 id.7 sold in Chinese market, and half of them were sold to car rental companies. 2, 2,700 Polestar 4 sold in China by far. 3, Zeeker 001, the sibling of polestar 4(both are assembled in the exact same production line), has been sold more than 220,000 units since late 2021
@@BatteryLife Where a car is built is just half of the story. I would like to support an EU manufacturer, developing and building EVs here. I will most probably buy ID.7, but the A6 e-tron looks more modern and very tempting
Obviously you haven't been in Chinese cars. They are very well put together, unlike German cars with cheap interior. This, however is a Swedish car built in China!
@@michaelrasmussen6953 It is no doubt this car is based on Geely SEA platform, and developed mainly by swedish department. The real problem is that, it is not a car developed for Europe, how could this huge 2-meter-wide giant be accepted?
Best car ! Got mine here in north Sweden almost 2 month ago. What a beast ! ❤️
glad to know that! how are your experiences with it so far? :-) I am in the process of hopefully ordering one soon
Also hope real BST version would come :)
Received my P4 last week, I really love it. There are some update to come regarding pilot assist will be through OTA update.
fix it in post... sad cars have become like that

Drove the P4 the other day... it is fantastic.
For information. To only activate cruise control (without self steering) you need to click twice on the cruise control button.
Steering. Can be adjusted to be light. Acceleration is phenomenal - 4 seconds 0-60 mph.
