Fascinating watching this and receiving such a marvellous insight into Bruckner's masterpiece especially in the last movement. Many conductors could and could have learned such a lot from studying this video.
I should have added that he gives such a heartfelt and beautiful smile when the orchestra fulfils his requirements, for OUR ultimate benefit. The proof is in the wonderful complete recording.
A must for any Bruckner fan but also a must for any conductor whether Bruckner or not. Thousand thanks for posting this fine video of rehearsal 3rd movement with intelligent between cuts for understanding.
Celibidache: "Bruckner is incredible! The apotheoses from his final movements can only have been written, felt and lived by someone with a sense of eternity. We all have it, but we haven’t developed it."
I think he is the composer OUT of any analogy. Too many conductos forget this important point when they perform their works. Celibidache wasn't one of them, quite the opposite.
I like Celibidache's 6th, 8th and 9th. The others are too slow for my taste. I mean, they're all very slow but in some cases it works, in others it doesn't. With Celibidache it's always either magical or just awful, at least that's how I feel. He sometimes loses the musical thread, just like Bernstein in some of his later recordings. Ultimately I prefer Wand for Bruckner.
Mick Dunn 12 lingue parlava!

According to what you atter I can see that you are just an amateur with little knowledge of what really music is.
Well.. who t. f. r u ?
