For perennial beds, I find that using spray is not efficient. Overspray causes damage to flowering plants and trees, and then you have dead weeds hanging around for too long. I have gotten so fast using a Hori Hori knife, it is just as fast to use my knife and dig up all the weeds and then they are GONE right away and no need to go back and clean up the dead and dying weeds. There is no danger to wildlife and no damage to nearby lawn, plants or trees. I learned the hard way using Gly 4 spray. Just using my knife and good old hard work does a beautiful job and no danger to the environment. I have enormous and beautiful flower beds and not just a tiny garden either. I am no youngster, so I'm always looking for easier ways to weed as well. Thanks for a good video. I do love using my weedwhacker upside down to do edging. It works great.
Many seeds require being turned under the soil to start germinating. I control weeds without any digging and minimal soil disruption. I pull any weeds with seed heads and throw them away. Wet the soil first for easier pulling. I use Roundup on the young weeds that are not in vegtable gardens or fruit tree planters. Minimum concentration and spot applications only. As with any poison, the concentrate is the most harmful. When mixing Roundup don't get it on your skin. Spray by hand and close to the ground when there is no or minimal wind.
I just sprayed some plants that look like they were intended to be part of the flower bed but have just grown everywhere and look awful. I'm going to wait for them to die and do exactly like you do and weed wack them. You get it done nice and easy, I like it.
First video of yours I watch but I just thought I'd chime in on behalf of your apprentice. When you took over, it was quick, but it won't teach him as well. After using the weedeater and I ran out of gas I decided to just try and pull out a few of the weeds. To my surprise.... they just pulled right out. Most of them anyways. From now on no more chemicals.
I use the edger to get weeds while im edging the beds. I can usually get the root out with the plant. It doesn't throw grass out of the bed. Looks ok after the green grass dries out...

Curiosity question only: On the round guard plate to this trimmer shown in this video, is is something that came with it or something modified to fit on it? Is it a Husqvarna accessory or something? I can't seem to locate such at their site and was also wondering it it adapts to other models of the Husqvarna battery-powered line trimmers? Thanks for any into on it.
It was designed by a separate company called "EDGIT PRO"...They used to only make them for Echo and Stihl trimmers back in the day but have included other brands such as Husqvarna...I don't know if they will work on battery powered trimmers though. Edgitpro.com is their website

The easiest way to get rid of weeds its by a good eight inches of mulch but first get rid of the big weeds and you wouldn't have to worry about it for a long time and if any grows back just pull it out as soon you see it stay on it and in a long run you save time and money
True but the biggest issue to getting your client to pay for the 8 inches 😅
@@AmbrosLandscapingInc Yes its true some clients can't afford it and even if they have the money they need to really trust you
I did landscaping for twelve years and I figured out that its not a good business I live in the North West and its only like nine months of work and if they need to cut theirs bill the first thing they cut out its the gardener services so it sucks
