      You are putting tons of deadly chemicals in your washer for you and you family to lay on all night and absorb through your skin. You should really do some research on the chemicals you are using they cause so much cancer and that’s just the start. Please research think about doing chemical free cleaning for your kids

    I used to wash my pillows in the washer, but finally found a better way to clean and sanitize them. The problem was that they would always come out really lumpy, and I was never able to get them back right. I used the high water setting and didn't overcrowd them in the washer or dryer, and it still did this with very high end pillows ($100 each), as well as the less expensive ones, and the in-between priced ones. And it did this when I still had my washer with no agitator, as well as the one with the agitator. So now what I do is place them in the bathtub and spray them really well with regular 3% hydrogen peroxide, then hang them out in the bright sun to dry. I love the sun/outdoor smell they have afterwards, it reminds me of how my grandmother's sheets smelled! But if it's cloudy, I let the pillows sit in the bathtub for about 30 minutes so the peroxide can penetrate the fabric for a more thorough clean. I then place them in the dryer on medium or high heat to dry with a few tennis balls. Doing this removes stains, as well as brightens them up like brand new, and kills any bacteria and allergens that may be in them. And I no longer end up with lumpy pillows!

    A nice non chemical laden laundry soap to use is: Nellie's or Beekman 1802 brand. Being heavily laden with petro chemicals and parabens can be very irritating to us sensitive folks, not counting the damage to the environment. I use Dryer balls with essential oils added a few drops in the dryer, voila, great smell, no petrochemical . Merry Christmas to all. GOD bless you everyone

      Thank you for your very important info to all! plus don’t forget how Toxic those Downey or any other brand of those Fragrance things!!! What’s worse in speaking of “Pillows” is your head is sleeping on them all night breathing them in as well as seeping in your skin and hair follicleswhich goes directly to the bloodstream and which do the same as well with all of those toxic fumes and chemicals that are left in the fibers that are destroying one’s internal health. Right on your brain as well (speaking pillows) which is the organ that is most commonly first affected by the toxins from all of the store brand laundry detergents, personal care products, shampoo and conditioner, soaps and even dish detergent are so often overlooked as well.
      It’s the reason why we have much more increase of mental illness and health issues amongst humans today.
      Andrea, please deeply research ingredients, their research studies & facts on ones health as well as your baby’s. Don’t just go by what labels say/claim about said product as far as being “All Natural“, or“Plant based” etc , turn the bottle and research each ingredient before buying or even storing in ones home as they also release these toxins into the air that the household is breathing in just sitting there in a cabinet or closet.

    Note about tennis balls: I was told by a vet that they are full of little tiny glass fibers not good for dogs teeth and I imagine not good to have embedded in your pillows either. I found good priced wool dryer balls at a Trader Joe’s if you happen to have one near you and fun that you can actually add some essential oil scents on them! Love your cleaning hacks!!

    I don't have a dryer, and have a very old washing machine in rented, which I have to use vinegar in regularly to fight that funky smell. I usually just throw out pillows twice yearly, they always go pancake like anyway, but I'm going to attempt to wash them, and follow your instructions for the washing machine, I washed my duvet which came out great but it took days to dry and had to use the rads to dry it off.
    I think a bit of fabric conditioner helps with the fluffy.

    I use only natural cleaners in my home, especially my laundry. And, essential oils on the dryer balls, when using the dryer. However, I prefer to hang my laundry outside, the sun is a great whitener and sanitizer. There is nothing like the fresh scent of the natural breeze outside. For the most part, people do not understand that over 60% of what we put on our skin, directly or indirectly, is absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream. So, please, be careful of what you use for your own and your family's health. The other thing are candles, I use nothing but beeswax candles, they naturally have a beautiful scent, and clean the air in your home. Those pretty scented candles, are a blend of chemicals that you do not want to breathe in. Plants are another way to clean the air in your home when you can't open windows during the winter. A healthy home environment should be everyone's goal. N'est pas?

    • @AKHWJ3ST
      @AKHWJ3ST 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Do you not realize that drying pillows outside exposes them to all the dust, dirt, pollution in the air, not to mention all the allergens!! Fall out of the air and onto your clean, freshly laundered pillows which you then take inside and lay your head on to sleep all night, breathing in allergens all night. Yeah, right. I'll just stick to drying my pillows in the dryer where it's allergen, dirt and dust free.

    • @sillililli01
      @sillililli01 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@AKHWJ3ST If you want to believe that your pillows are allergen, dirt and dust free in your dryer, you go ahead. But, that can't be further from the truth. Your dryer vents outside, and what goes out can come in, including dust and allergens. Nothing is fresher smelling and sanitized by the sun then laundry dried outdoors in a clean environment out in the country. You do you, and, I'll do me.

    • @kenney1050
      @kenney1050 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      exactly....the sun doenot smell nice on materials left out to dry in it anyway...it leaves them quite dry-scratchy on skin too...and fades colours!!! yes i order the dryer too...machines, detergents, softener, etc are all manufactured health consciously nowadays.

    • @sillililli01
      @sillililli01 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@kenney1050 "detergents, softener, etc., are all manufactured health consciously nowadays." You got to be kidding me, really! You believe that? The sun and the breeze leaves your laundry with a fresh scent, that the chemists try to copy called "linen". Why would they spend time and energy to duplicate what nature does naturally, if it wasn't desirable to the consumers out there? The only thing I use my dryer for in the spring/summer/fall is for towels, because they are the only things that don't dry soft on the clothes line. Other than that, everything else dries nicely and quickly with a breeze, and, it's free. That is especially important these days around the world, since many are suffering financially. Oh, and another thing, anyone who uses an outdoor clothesline knows not to put colored items outside in full sun.

    I find your videos to be very useful but way too long, I find myself fast forwarding most of the chitter chatter. Would enjoy them
    More with less talking.

    good video but I would suggest not poisoning the family with chemical cleaning products

    Go organic. You're using many chemicals the body absorbs through the skin the entire time it's on your skin. Read labels, ingredients, and learn what they are and what they cause in the body. Organic vinegar, organic essential oils, etc. is the better and healthier choice. Thank you for all your videos. My family and I will benefit from them well.
