    I've been a professional cleaner for 20 years and the best way to clean ANY glass, be it windows or mirrors, is with dish soap and water. I prefer Dawn. It cleans dishes without streaking and will do the same for other glass.

    Pre soaking clothes before washing is a staple in most Caribbean households. I wouldn’t use Tide on my colors as the detergent is so strong, but definitely on my whites. Oxiclean works better on color clothes and doesn’t fade the color as fast. Great tips. 👍🏾

    When I strip fabrics, I just use the washer. I make sure it's not over full, use the same formula of detergent/ borax /washing soda, fill with highest water level, then agitate every hour or so. After soaking I just run the washer as normal. This works so well on sheets and towels, especially white ones! It saved some I thought I was going to have to throw away!

I strip my towels once a month in the washing machine . Heavy cycle with soaking cycle then run it on the normal cycle to rinse a 2nd time. They smell so good after that.

    Hi I figured I’d throw in my own special ‘hack’ that I’ve learned being a professional house cleaner. My mom ALWAYS put pillow cases on inside out. It is SO much easier to put them on, especially if you have a king size pillow case, that you want to use on a regular sized pillow.I just lay the king pillow case wrong side up, on the pillow, and you can judge where to fold it upward at the open end. Now, making sure the fold is nice and smooth, you put your hands inside the corners of the pillow case and use your thumbs and forefinger to grasp the corners of the pillow, flipping it over and down the pillow, and the case is on right side up. This automatically tucks in enough fabric to keep the ends tucked in.

    I’m a little late to the party but I may have to beg everyone here: do NOT use toilet bowl cleaner on your clients grout in their homes!!! Bathroom grout has a sealant on it to protect the subfloor from water seeping through to it, that will erode with that acidic cleaner, and unless you want to reseal the grout every time you clean it (yes, you need to reseal grout occasionally even with regular cleaning, but quadruple-fold if you use an acid cleaner) then leave the toilet bowl cleaner for toilets. It’s the reason the grout gets stained again- the grout sealant is GONE. I cringe whenever someone mentions it- I’ve seen it happen with other homes with a company I used to clean for. I now own my own company and those tasks are best left for the right tools.

    Thank you for the laundry tip. I used to do my white work t shirts In hot water bleach and liquid detergent. And had to pre-rinse sweat stains by hand. Shirts wore out very fast. The powder tide borax method (in washing machine) is easier and the shirts stay new longer. Works on my colored work clothes too! No more liquid detergent (only tide pods on lightly worn good clothes). I used to use powder and was called old fashioned. Even tide powder alone cleans my work clothes. Thanks Brittany! Love you videos! ❤️❤️

    Isn’t the laundry strip just stripping the colour from the clothing, hence the dark water?

    • @sunrae7680
      @sunrae7680 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Also, dryer sheets have petroleum. It leaves a slick film on the clothes. I don't use them.

      It’s also EXTREMELY hard to ring out towels by hand 🤣 I tried this and was so pissed at myself for not thinking of that. I ended up squeezing as much water out as I could and then put in in my washer on rinse and spin cycle.

    • @Chgogal1
      @Chgogal1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      Yes. Also if you are going to do laundry striping, which I think is unnecessary. But if you are going to do it, why not just do it in your wash machine, versus dirting your tub and then trying to ring all the water out of the clothes to transfer to your washer. It seems to me it could all be done right in the washing machine.

    I am over 40 years old and I can tell you from long history of washing clothes If you wash your darks in hot water it will make the colors fade, i have feeling some of that you saw in the water was the dyes coming out of the clothing and fading the clothing. I would be careful with that method of treating the clothing or other items. That is why the Tide box has written on it even works in cold water so that you can wash darks in cold water and still get them clean. Viral stuff on tiktock is not always a good thing to follow in this case i would say no thank you tiktock. 🚫

    1. Use a degreaser in your laundry together with whatever detergent you use. It will avoid buildup of whatever deposits in your clothes. I use 1 or 2 cap full of Lestoil (the cap of the Lestoil bottle itself) or 1/2 to 1 cup of LA's Awesome (can buy online or at most Dollar Stores - this item can also be used to clean your walls - you will see the grime just drip down, then just wipe it off). Actually LA's Awesome can be use everywhere even your outside walls and gutters!
    2. White distilled vinegar - from cleaning mirrors, glass, laundry as softener to removing algae from outside walls, decks etc... the uses are endless.
    3. Hard water stains in bathroom - use a pumice stone. No detergent needed.
