    Two things here are true:
    1. Michael said "If Isiah is on the team, I'm out."
    2. Michael did not make the decision to remove Isiah Thomas from the team. He wasn't lying when he said he wasn't "In on that decision." He just said "it's either him or me." So Jordan wants to have it both ways, and technically, he does.

@@brown_xKMD Did you read the book that Magic wrote a couple of years ago. Where he admitted HE didn´t want Isiah on the team. Because of the rumours Isaih spread about homosexuality of Magic. Than you have Bird, who didn´t like Isiah either. His role in it is underrated and under the surface. So you have your 2 teamcaptains who didn´t want I on the team. Your main superstar, Jordan, also didn´t want him. And then you have the two best secondants, Malone and Pippen who didn´t want I. on the team. What do you do if you have to make the selection? 5 of your biggest HOF won´t go, versus one HOF, who already had many controverses around him. I think it´s the NBA´s biggest chief back than, David Stern and his commitee, who made the decision, because he knew a dream team without 5 of the biggest star would have been an deception. Sure they would have won the gold medal either, but the world wide marketing would be nearly half a commercial succes. In short, I think Stern (mis) used the grieves of all those players where he could hide himself. The media picked up all the rumors and focussing on all the beef. But it was of course the decision of the NBA commite.

Bruh.. Zeke's own head coach, who coached the Dream Team, didnt vouch for him. People skip over that part lol. Clearly the leaders of the team, MJ, Larry and Magic didn't want to play with him. Doesn't matter what anyone else thought. If those 3 guys wanted him, he'd be there. And...i don't blame them. Zeke was the representative of those Pistons teams. Those dudes were out to injury guys and win by any means necessary. Every team who faced them was willing to throw hands because of it. When you saw Zeke, you also saw guys like Laimbeer...who was the most hated dude in the league

I don’t understand how Dominique Foxworth doesn’t understand how Isaiah Thomas did two acts of bad sportsmanship to Michael Jordan. 1. “Iced” him out of his rookie allstar game. Jordan made the team, Isaiah acting like a child got everyone on their team, to not pass the ball to Jordan. Cmon now. 2. The bulls did lose twice to the pistons the years before, but Jordan showing good sportsmanship, shook their hands after each of the games even though him & Isaiah didn’t get along. The time that they lose the bulls, Isaiah leads his Pistons team straight to the locker room in a single file line without shaking anyone’s hand. CMON NOW 😂 childish and unsportsmanlike. So I agree with Jordan getting back at him for once & keeping him out of the allstar game

ALOT of players didn’t want Isaiha on that team.
Magic had SERIOUS issues (even more than MJ at that time) with IT due to his reaction to AIDS.
Bird didn’t want IT on that team.
Pippen himself publicly said he didn’t want IT on that team.
    etc.

Isiah is and was two-faced. Magic, Larry and Michael didn't trust him. Plus Stockton and Drexler were in their primes and both no-nonsense players. Easy decision, and I'm glad they left Isiah off.

Lol none of them get what Jalen is really saying! He is basically saying that despite finally beating the pistons in 1991, MJ doesn't feel like he settled the score....lol....Isiah is still rubbing to his face that the pistons beat the bulls A LOT MORE. And it's true and there's nothing Mj can do about it cuz Isiah retired soon after and the team dismantled.
For these guys, MJ, Kobe, magic, bird, Isiah...it's only about the number of WINS against each other. That's it!

Jordan showed sportsmanship by shaking Isiah and the Pistons hands when he lost to them. But when it was Jordan's time after improving himself and being motivated by the Pistons to win 6 for Chicago and Isiah decides not to be a good sportsman, then that's where the problem arises. This is a prime example why having an ego creates problems. Isiah should have dropped it.

  • @TayGee-mh8eo

MJ didn't do it because Isiah was a "rival". So were everyone else on the team. So was Dennis Rodman who eventually played with MJ as well as other Pistons John Salley (who admitted MJ is a friend) and John Edwards (who regularly smoked cigars with MJ during their time together with the Bulls). He's also very friendly with Joe Dumars. And obviously enjoyed playing golf with Chuck Daly while playing for the Olympic team. These media types seem to want to push narratives instead of digging in further. MJ and Isiah was personal. It had nothing to do with MJ wanting to keep a "rival" off the team. And besides all that, MJ had already defeated Isiah's Pistons.

Wasn't Chuck Daly the head coach of the Dream Team? Wasn't he Zeke's coach? Obviously Daly had Zeke's back (to an extent), but for the betterment of Team USA; the chemistry of the team (on and off the court), I believe he signed off on the tough decision to leave him off. Daly agreed to these terms. I don't think you can let him off the hook. I wish Chuck was around to share his perspective, but if he (the Head Coach) wasn't willing to take a stand against the players who weren't eager to team up with Zeke, then why should anyone shift blame for this decision to one player? It doesn't add up. In my opinion.

Let’s be honest. The powers that be was considering the team had several discussions before they approached the players. You don’t think the Jordan vs Thomas thing didn’t come up. Ok. Now, it was then discussed who would you rather have. The decision was made before they got to the players. So that they could tell Jordan he’s not on the team. He didn’t make the decision. He re-affirmed their thinking. Thomas had issues with Magic, Bird, & others.

  • @Mexicanwolverine99

What is being lost here was that the NBA was trying to expand its footprint overseas to be a global attraction. Of course they knew MJ wouldn’t play on the team if Zeke did , therefore they didn’t invite Zeke. The NBA wanted its biggest star player on the global stage and unfortunately at Zeke’s expense it was the right decision as we see the NBA popularity around the world now. Dirk and Pao Gasol both have said the impact of Jordan and Dream Team on them playing basketball.

I don't know how people miss the point about the Isiah thing. It wasn't only MJ, Karl Malone didn't like him either, and Charles Barkley didn't like him either. It all boils down to this: if you have to choose between Isiah Thomas (who was done) or MJ in his absolute prime, you go with MJ, plain and simple.

I get that we should celebrate a person's focus and drive to accomplish goals and achieve greatness. On the other hand, we should point out and discourage both Jordan and Kobe win at all cost mentality. I don't believe that the end justify the means. Everything comes full circle eventually. We are seeing that play in people's lives today.

Jordan didn’t didn’t kick Isiah out he just takes the Blame just bcus he spoke for the majority of the all stars players who also didn’t want isiah in the dreamteam And that’s the Actual Truth. They went to ask Jordan if he wanted isiah on the team since most of the other players said no, so Jordan replied by saying that he won’t join the team if isiah joins. since he was the most famous & da leader of the team he got the all the blame n dat made it seemed like it was only Jordan who kicked him out, but in fact it wasn’t only Jordan that didn’t want isiah to join. There’s a video on a WNBA player from Detroit who asked Jordan on why he did isiah dirty n left him off the team n Jordan said “You really want to know the truth” n said “Mostly Everyone else didn’t want to play n join our team n not just Me”. So y’all look it up facts

No....isiah was one of the main people who froze MJ in his first Allstar game. Can't believe they arent speaking on this.

Detroit Pistons trying every game to injure players, just to win and thats whats one of the reason to dont have Isiah Thomas on Dream Team. For bussiness perspective is not good to have a person who likes to fight with everybody in the court...Not only MJ, others players also
