With the Abandoned NSX in the shop, its time to figure out where to start! Our goal for this NSX is to restore it back to its original state while upgrading it where we can!
Tbh think its better to fully gut the car to the bare chassis then continue rebuilding it from there. Can find other hidden issues aswell as clean it up more and try to make it mint
For Future reference, when cleaning up after mice in a car interior you should definitely use a respirator. Especially if you're using steam and essentially rehydrating and kicking the the pee/poop back into the air.
This. This right here is what we love to see! Complete restoration, Teeg getting his hands dirty, and the team grooving together. Again love this build already
God bless Ian for having the patience for dealing with wiring harnesses. I patched some cables from the wiring loom in my Focus a week before I traded it in, but the license plate light still didn't work. Thankfully I did the deal during the day.
Tj that was probably its first wash since it was bought so stoked you bought it and its being fixed such an iconic jdm legend it deserves to be back on the road 👌
TJ Hunt Great Video I'm glad your Acura NSX's Wiring problem was figured out and that her Interior is all cleaned up and I can't wait to see how Engine and Transmission is
Keep the NSX body original, do a nice OEM+ restoration with tailored interior etc like you would have wanted on the 355. PS: My 997 GT3 is for sale too if you're looking ;)
Dude these series make me so happy I love watching u an the boys rebuild cars it makes me push through the day better knowing I get to come home and watch it ❤
@@Bagged_k5 perfect Japanese garage has to include all famous cars from every Japanese brand some has 2 or 3 , like Nissan the R33 GTR the R34 GTR , Toyota Supra MK4 , Evo 10 , Ae86 Trueno , S15 Silvia , Honda EK9 and EP3 Type R and there's more so if you wanted the ultimate Japanese garage you definitely need a big garage cause i imagine you would want all GTR's from R31 to R34 plus Hakosuka and Kenmeri
TJ describing a $30K NSX: "I got it for dirt cheap." The rest of us: "You keep using that word... I do not think it means what you think it means." Heh, all kidding aside, what an amazing transformation! These were gorgeous cars; I had a neighbor with a red one and I loved seeing it daily. Can't wait to see how this one turns out. "Pop-up" Honda-squad, FTW!
I for one think that rear deck lid is freaking SPICY🥵🥵🥵!!! The roof scoop could tuck to the roof more but that clear lid with the scoop is such a good look. Let’s you appreciate the heart of the machine
@@jbrundrett …yeah a roof scoop. There are multiple kinds of roof scoops…but that’s what it is. Some go into the car itself. Others are meant for mid to rear engine cars like this. And there are some for directing air over a wing etc. Same thing dude
I ran a detail business based on steam cleaning. It cuts cost of products and will clean clear coat with out using clay bar, puts clay to shame! You will need high powered steamer like vapor chief or vapor rhino steamer. You will never go wrong with steam!😎
This build is gonna be another winner. The NSX is an awesome example of JDM performance. can't wait to see where this goes and its BRG (errrrr money green)
Detailing tip. don't use degreasers on real leather it pulls the natural oils and cracking can start! but the cleaning before and afters are always satisfying!!
If that interior is any example of the neglect. This is going to be the single coolest recovery of a neglected, dilapidated, abused NSX on the Internet. I dig this car.
I'm hyped for this build! One bc it's an NSK. But mainly bc it's so relatable. This is how I pick up the majority of my projects. It's always hard work. But sooooo rewarding every time you make progress on something.
I am so amped to see this NSX come back to its full glory! You have done some amazing things on this channel, but this is probably my favorite! Cant wait to see more satisfaction in things getting cleaned and what you end up doing to it overall. Please keep the V6 though! Would be kind of sick if you turboed it or supercharged it though
there's a company that redoes seat belts you can have em done in any color just send em in and they use new fabric and clean the mechanism its the lil details like that that help really bring it back to life
That's freaking awesome that Ian did that!!! I'm starting my wiring for my K Swapped c10 all from scratch so I think I would be able to tell what's messed up on it!😁
Such an awesome car. I can’t wait for the rest of this build. You guys should get a new wiring harness tho that thing was chopped up. Plus you’re already gutting it.
I'm pretty sure this is the first video I've watched from your channel, Love the Japanese icons , the cleaning and repairing videos, I'm totally Subscribing and binge watching 🔥🔥
I really think you need to strip the nsx down to the frame like Mickey did the bad apple and do a full complete restore . The nsx is a legend of a car and deserves it !
if you have a junkyard car that didn't have mice in it i'd be surprised. everyone ive ever seen gets mice into them and they LOVE making nests! getting the smell out is the hardest part
@@nel14-ft7rg man I like TJ but don't tell me he needs to make a 15 part series about every car. He's a multimillionaire and his companies make millions.
Why are you baggin on him for this video tho, they did a tonnn of work to that car in this video, down to the engine removal and most importantly finding the biggest problem with the car on that ecu wire, you came to a car youtube vlog and got exactly that lol
Tj such an iconic JDM legend i know with you and your eye for style and your team its gonna be so sick when its done im here for every min of the build also great content keep up the great work 👍
Tbh think its better to fully gut the car to the bare chassis then continue rebuilding it from there. Can find other hidden issues aswell as clean it up more and try to make it mint
They got the know how for this. Might as well
Seriously. Watching that disgusting seat belt B pillar be cleaned while inside the car still was no bueno
Maybe it’s a giveaway and they aren’t tryna do all that
Was about to say if that was my car id remove everything in the interior, check and clean every thing. That car is so dirty!
Their aim is to earn money not fix car so just to what looks good on screen
For Future reference, when cleaning up after mice in a car interior you should definitely use a respirator. Especially if you're using steam and essentially rehydrating and kicking the the pee/poop back into the air.
Zombie Mechanic spin off…
Gloves couldn’t hurt
100% -- Hantavirus is no joke. Rehydrating and kicking up all the debris is a perfect recipe for getting majorly sick.
especially as rats have been confirmed , Weil's disease a real hazard
I'm glad I'm not the only one that was just cringing they weren't wearing at least masks and gloves!
Awesome build, one of my favorite cars. Please give this car the same love you have given the Nissan builds.
Fr, just strip it and give it the love it needs
This. This right here is what we love to see! Complete restoration, Teeg getting his hands dirty, and the team grooving together. Again love this build already
Ian has the best facial expressions when he hears about a stressful task
Very calming video, along with one of my favorite cars of all times.
Who knew watching an NSX being dismantled and cleaned could be soooo satisfying 🤤
This project brings me back to this channel 👍
I keep unsubscribing bcuz these guys act so stupid…
God bless Ian for having the patience for dealing with wiring harnesses. I patched some cables from the wiring loom in my Focus a week before I traded it in, but the license plate light still didn't work. Thankfully I did the deal during the day.
My OCD feels werry good looking at a cleaning video like this , that NSX is going to be the bomb 👍
That was the most satisfying vacuum sequence!
Matt Armstrong really revolutionized the TH-cam game lol.. I hope this series brings me as much joy as the Ferrari series!👌🏽
Now this is the build I have been waiting for TJ . No wide body please 🫣🙏🏻🙌🏼
Tj that was probably its first wash since it was bought so stoked you bought it and its being fixed such an iconic jdm legend it deserves to be back on the road 👌
Crazy how yall went from your parent's garage to a full on shop with a team 💪🏾🔥
Nice progress. Looking a whole lot better so far!
THE cleanest pavement in CA thanks to Ian!
Man these type of builds are so GOD DAMN entertaining to watch 🙌🙌🙌
TJ Hunt Great Video I'm glad your Acura NSX's Wiring problem was figured out and that her Interior is all cleaned up and I can't wait to see how Engine and Transmission is
heres hoping you treat it like your r34 or FD. this is an ICON, so much history and innovation.
Been waiting TJ lol 😂 you like my TV channel no lie.
Sh*t be boring without you posting bruhhhhh.
Thanks brother for the content ! Blessed 🙏🏽🦾

PS: My 997 GT3 is for sale too if you're looking ;)
Yea, I hope he doesn’t do another wide body kit for this one. at the very least maybe an OEM wide body panel if Honda or Acura had that OEM option
@@allanguillen4382the rear quarter panels are removable so a wide body won’t destroy the car
There should be an engine cover/parcel shelf under the glass hatch.
Dark Green carpet is going to be SICK

Brilliant project, really pleased to find this video series.
Adding the teaser at the end, definitely a nice touch 🔥🔥
1 like and tj buys an ae86 to complete the Japanese hero car collection
It would be crazy if he found a shell and put the rb in
I think the hero collection is rx7, mk4, nsx I don’t think ae86 fits in the group but still a sick car

I'm totally on board for this whole entire build
Nothing beats a good ol Steamy. I remember getting that same steamer years ago and was having a blast steaming everything clean
I for one think that rear deck lid is freaking SPICY🥵🥵🥵!!! The roof scoop could tuck to the roof more but that clear lid with the scoop is such a good look. Let’s you appreciate the heart of the machine
That is not a roof scoop, it is a hatch scoop to allow more air flow to the engine compartment.
