Enjoyed this truck. The end buyer gets a truck with far more labor than the truck is nominally worth. I would think that in the long run being associated with this video series will make that truck worth something to someone. I'd love it, completely on primered showing all of the work done. I could get away with that here in Arizona because nothing really rusts
You took something that most people would have used as ditch fill and made it beautiful. You, Sir, are a miracle worker. It looks absolutely fantastic.
@@CarterAutoRestyling _ He suddenly has a door post replacement to replace all that rust; How's that again? This video can't help you learn about restoration.
Congratulations Kyle! What a journey, thanks for sharing it with us. We all have learned a lot and have been inspired to get out there and work on our own projects
I’ve seen a million TH-cam videos. I got hooked on TH-cam premium during lockdown. I never came across any video that had my wishlist in it. Dude. That flaming vacuum smash was medicine for my soul. Thank you.
The greatest thing I missed out on was a 1923 Willys truck. The man had to get it out a garage and I didn't have the money. Since I already bought his 65 Mustang. Witch was road worthy.
Incredible really!! What a way to spend winter ! You saved a vehicle, entertained countless people, shed hope on doubting young welders and made the new owner happy. NEXT !
@@CarterAutoRestyling Nice to see a short video highlighting some of major steps involved in a project like this. Your approach makes lots of sense, if I was in market for a project having a pro get the project to this point would probably cut years off total time to finish, not to mention quality of work is impeccable. What's next?
I personally enjoy the commentary. I like to hear people explain what they are doing and how they go about doing it. I even enjoy the explanation of the types of tools being used and why.
That truck turned out great. I like the painted grill and red rims on it. You should definitely be proud of that one and should have no issues selling it for a nice little profit.
Im 13 and I am restoring one of my grandparents old cars to keep for myself(just to drive up and down the drive way lol) but am super pumped. This just made me more exited. You did an amazing job. These are one of my favorite vintage GMC trucks.

Whoever is whining about you talking to much is obviously to narcissistic to be able to see the absolute gold that’s being told. Every day is a school day , remember that folks. Top notch again my friend 👍
I may never get to practice all of the tips you've shared with us but It gives me great pleasure to watch someone that takes great pride in their work. I believe you are as disciplined in everything you do. It's obvious why you have the support of family, friends and fans. They know that any vehicle that's worth saving will be safe in your hands. Congratulations on the completion of this project.
Months of pain... actually appreciating how these things are done and at the end, finally, an old pickup! You say it isn't perfect but it looks good on video, well done!
For sure, the 'one hour of work for one minute of video' theory needs to be put to the test. That would make a great video in and of itself. Many times I have shared your dream, that of buying a hopeless rusty pile, and flipping it for a huge loss. But we are so much more than that, we are the elite. Those of us who not only lose money, but waste copious amounts of hours planning, labor, and supplies to do so. Sometimes nothing in life compares with the joy of watching the taillights of the last year of our life's work going away down the street for the last time. And squeezing that satisfying, tiny little lump of folded cash and dreaming of the future. Meanwhile, I think I'd be loading the remains of that blue cab up on a trailer and take it back to Scott and try for at least a partial refund....
Kyle, your vids on this truck have been great, informative and funny as heck. I'm a old truck guy so it's right up my alley. No need to reply...you're a busy dude. One request though...maybe more vintage trucks? Ford? IH? Fargo? Dodge? O0h...28/29 Ford Model A RPU would be nice.
Watching your channel is like observing a man’s slow descent into madness. I feel nothing, but I can’t look away. Guess I’ll just make some more popcorn and keep watching to see how it ends!
Cool video ... Glad it's going to a good home and not some one like me that would probibly chop it up hot rod style ... can't wait for the next project ... 👍
Wow, she actually looks like a solid and complete '48 GMC again! I recall watching Scott's first video on the truck when it was still sitting in that field. Had a feeling it was worth being saved despite the naysayers and how rough it truly was back then, so I posted a comment pointing out the five window option being pretty rare and how the truck could be used for donor metal. Next thing I know, it ends up here! I know it was an insane project to take on, but thanks for proving me right, Kyle. Not only that, but thanks for this video series! I've grown to respect how much work goes into such a project, and your skillset and knowledge really shines through in every video. I'm also glad to see the truck is going to a new owner who'll appreciate it. Would love to see how the truck turns out once they're done with her. I wholeheartedly agree that it's way more cool and interesting to see an old truck being put back into service as-is instead of being turned into a hotrod or show queen, but to each his own. Also, can't help but remark about how the seasons change from the start of the video to the end. Makes one realize and appreciate how much time went into this project.
