  • Quick overview of setup for external touchscreen/panels for MSFS, X-Plane. This setup is useful for those who use Air Manager particularly the G-1000 panel.
The 15.6 inch monitor shown is a Wimaxit that I purchased from Amazon.
The two smaller 13.3 inch monitors are Uperfect monitors I purchased from eBay.
The monitors are connected to the computer with two cables:
    1) An HDMI (or DP) cable that goes from an output on the graphics card to the HDMI input on the monitor. Note that you may need an HDMI to Display Port cable/adapter.
    2) A USB cable to connect the monitor to the computer. In my case it's a USB "A" to "C" cable. I recommend a powered USB hub. This cable both powers the monitor and sends the touchscreen information back to the computer. Note that all monitors may not work this way.
From there the computer needs to be setup to recognize the monitors as touchscreens. This is done using "Tablet PC Settings" located within the control panel. Open that up and press the "Setup" button. I have not ever needed to use the calibrate function, but your gear may require that.
