A slight mistake for the Adidas Adios Pro 3 weight from 4:05 to 5:11 - The actual weight of the Adios Pro 3 is 7.6oz (215g), still the heaviest option (though the shoe is a full generation (and more) behind the rest on the list. Expect a massive weight reduction in the Adidas Adios Pro 4 this year.

Also with the final analysis of the comments, I think its also worthwhile to note that the individual who stated that in the video also considers the Vaporfly 3 to only be good for shorter distances, I believe he said 5/10k, so the comparison between the two shoes still holds even with the disagreement (which I personally also disagree)@@SagasuRunning
Another wonderful review, on the heels of the previous Metaspeed you did a couple of days ago. Very scientific and grounded, easy to grasp and also “believable” if you know what I mean. Great advise, thanks for putting it together for us! Also, thanks again for addressing the pinky toe + toebox upper topic!
The pinky toe thing is an omnipresent “Asics racer” problem I’ve always had and heard others talk about. It’s never a deal breaker but it’s usually a slight pain (literally). Happy to report I don’t have it in the MSEP (yet!). Also… I totally understand “believable”. I’m glad I have that… that means a lot to hear. 🤙🏻
Great video once again! Can’t wait to run in mine. I ordered the Edge Paris on release day US M9 still waiting for them to ship and most sizes are out of stock now. Hopefully on Monday if not I will have to give them a call for an update.
I agree… and FFTurbo+ is not as resilient. It also is less spring like in its rebound like LSP is. I’ve also said ZoomX is like a yoga ball, LSP is like a spring… so FfTurbo+ is like a tennis ball.
I just want to say thank you for making these video reviews and comparisons. I got the nb4’s and I love them. Looking forward to the next shoe comparisons and deep dive review.
Feel like they finally made this a marathon shoe rather than a 10k /half marathon shoe. Seen so many people use it for 5ks and even track work outs bc they were so stiff. Glad to see the updates 🤞🏽
It is still stiff, but nowhere as stiff as it was, it's not far off from the other top super shoes now. But the foam and the plate work together now and don't fight each other.
I had the previous Sky iteration. However, this time I went to the ASICS store and tried both in the Paris series. I strike forefoot but I just really preferred the feel of the ‘bounce’ with the edge Paris over the sky so went with it. Did a 32km training run in it for London this weekend and it felt superb. I agree with your comment regarding the ‘feel’. Spot on with the commentary here.
Even though I call the low plate (MSEP) a stable and rolling ride… the MSEP does have a bounce to it. It’s not as prominent as the MSSP, but it is there due to the superb FFTurbo+ foam. Especially when you hit a clean forefoot foot strike… it feels really powerful.
@@SagasuRunning I ended up purchasing both. I will use the edge for shorter races. I found it very aggressive for on longer runs. I feel like the sky is better for me at marathon pace. Kofuzi mentioned this and I must agree completely with his perspective After wearing both on long runs.
The matrix really helps put things in context. I was running in the Deviate Nitro 2 this morning and thinking about the plate position and leaked photos of the Magic Speed 4 look like the plate might be almost right in the middle of the forefoot. Thanks for helping me geek out.
I remember noticing that too with the MS4 leak. Remember though it will be FFTurbo… not the new “plus” variant. I’m also wondering if they will stick with a carbon fiber plate or move the shoe to a nylon/TPU plate, which it would benefit from. Putting the plate in the middle of the shoe means it will align to both the Sky and Edge models for training. Similar to what Nike is doing with the new Zoom Fly 6 and the AF and VF lines.
@@SagasuRunningI know it's not the new FF Turbo+ but it's still likely to be the closest thing to a true racing shoe I've ever tried. I'm curious if it will be all FF Turbo or dual density with FF Blast+. I'd also thought about the plate as I've heard Asics plates are pretty stiff. I'm pretty curious though.
I believe it’s full FFTurbo. I’ve not seen anything else saying it’s not. Though the S4, which is the closest shoe to it currently, is a FFTurbo top layer and a FlyteFoam lower layer. Don’t could be a mix of foams. Yes, Asics plated are very stiff… so if this shoe is full FFTurbo with a carbon plate it will be very similar to the Metaspeed Plus series. It could be a very good race shoe for those not wanting to spend on a top tier super shoe.
Great vid! The more I watched how you described this AMEP/AMSP, the more I want to get a pair, especially after the positive experience of Superblast. It's a shame I didn't get the shoes at the Tokyo Marathon expo and this model was not available by the time I departed Tokyo. Will definitely consider that for the marathon next year. PS. I will wear my same pair of AP3 Ekiden in Boston.
I think that is going to be the themes for the next few years. Adidas opened the door to how important it is with the Evo 1… everyone else needs to catchup now.
Yeah but that shoe is an impractical concept prototype. This is coming back to the race weight we had before the max stack super shoe started that only the Nike and Saucony have been hitting. It sounds like actual parity with Nike tech for the first time. Adidas needs to have something in this weight class also for general availability and at the same price point. I assume that will be forthcoming soon.
Yes, it is… but Adidas is working on it. The AP4 is rumored to be around VF3 weight and the Evo C is rumored to be between the VF3 and Evo 1. We will see content refinement here for the top end around weight and that will trickle down the line over the years. We are going back to race shoes in the racing flat weight range.
I wash my shoes after every run, especially in the summer. So getting the oils and salts form my sweat out of the shoe is important. If you don’t do that then the foams and glue will break down faster. I suppose ultra hot pavements will also break down foams faster… but I do tend to run earlier and in the shade as much as I can. Otherwise the hot summers don’t really change the durability of the shoe.
Super good video again. Yesterday I watched the best triathletes in the world compete. (Miami T100) Sam Long who finished 2nd. Is sponsored by asics and chose to run in a pair of Asics Metaspeed Sky plus. Magnus Ditlev, who won and has the world's fastest time at Ironman, runs in the Nike Alphafly V1. I did some tests myself the other day. And couldn't help but think how long it really takes to be able to run really fast in a pair of shoes. not to compare me to them in any way. But it's funny when some of the best athletes in the world don't choose to use the brand new ones.
Triathletes are steady state athletes and min/max everything around efficiency. So I’m not surprised they are in a range of shoes from a range of years. They know what works best for them… always. You also know they have tested all of the gear as know for sure.
@@SagasuRunning 👍 thanks for your reply🙂. I agree with you. I don't think it's a coincidence that Magnus Ditlev runs in the Nike Alphafly V1. He is probably the triathlete in the world who tests the most things and pays the most attention to the smallest details. Especially on his bike. But he is also the best cycling triathlete in the world 😯💪
@@JS-Treadmill-Running Back in my cycling days in NYC I used to ride with a lot of triathletes. I’m a gear nerd…but even the most casual triathletes I knew would put me to shame with their gear nerdery and testing. 🤣
While it is narrow and it does feel like you are up on a high platform… but overall it is stable enough for a super shoe intended for road racing. The overall package of the shoe is very well considered.
A great video! I’d still opt for VF3 to run a marathon. When I compare the two shoes, one concern is the low drop of Edge Paris which potentially exerts more load on my calves than VF3. Did you have the chance to do a long run with some MP work in Edge Paris? Being a forefoot striker, how did you feel on your calves?
I did a 10mi/16k run in both, back to back days to directly compare. I’m making a MSEP vs VF3 video which will be up on Tuesday of this week to discuss is more in depth. There are differences but the drop wasn’t something I noticed. The VF3 has a 8mm drop but is so compressive that you likely actually have closer to a 5mm drop when the shoe is loaded (standing/walking).
Really clear & comprehensive review! In your other video, you put the Edge in sort of the same category (in one sense) as the Rocket X1. I love that shoe for shorter distances (I have a wide foot, low arches). But here you say the Edge isn't really for shorter distances? I took it out for a 2.5 mi. run down to 5:35 pace to break it in, and it felt better the faster I went. Is there a specific reason you don't think it would work for a 5 or 10k? Just wondering as I have a 10k soon, and it's between the Rocket X2 & these. Thank you!
What I mean is it’s not designed for short distances and the Sky Paris is designed for long distances. They are both design for road racing, the marathon down to a 1mile (or whatever)…. They can do it all. I did find the MSEP quite nice near threshold pace… still a little more rocker than I want but manageable and nimble.
4:16 you listed Adidas Adios Pro 3 at 8.4oz for US Men 9. Did you weight the shoe yourself? At Running Warehouse, it lists 7.6oz.They said they weight the shoes to verify. What do you think accounts for the difference in weight?
I just weighed my pair (US Men’s size 9) and got 216.5 left and 218.0 right… so yes, well under 8.4oz and closer to 7.6oz. I have a list of shoes with stacks/drops/weights I make when I add buy a new shoe. I usually pull weights from RW or weigh myself. I also screenshot brands product pages and save those and the one I have for the AP3 lists 8.4oz as well. Sometimes RW uses the manufacturer specs before they do their own. That must of been what happened with my list. Thanks for catching that. I’ll see if I can add a note in there.
I think in a previous video you said you are in Taiwan. I asked Asics US about actually width of shoe bases for the Novablast 4, they could not provide it. Would you happen to know what the width of the Edge and Sky Paris is? I don't have a big foot, but I have a wide forefoot, I wear Nike Invincible Run 3 Extra Wide and they fit my foot so well in the forefoot. But my foot has a low instep, low volume, and narrows into the heel. So it's a real issue to find shoes that fit the best. I have the Sky +, out of super shoes they fit the best, however I wish it was a bit wider personally, and the foam was a bit softer. I never have tried the Edge, though I feel this new Edge I would probably like better with the plate down lower and not so high.
I don’t have the measurements… but if you were an Extra wide Invincible 3… there is no way the Metaspeed will fit you comfortably or at all. The standard I3 is already considerably wider than the Novablast 4 in the forefoot (especially in the toe area)… and the a Novablast 4 is much wider than the Metaspeed. Additionally the Metaspeeds are a race fit, so they are already narrow.
I know it sounds like “weight weenie” but an Adios Pro 3 is 280g in my size. That is heavy enough to negate a lot of the super. A Vaporfly 4% and a Streak 7 were both 240g. That is enough to really feel it. A Streak LT 3 was 177g which again is enough to really notice and feel something very different. The scale factor from reference to 13 US can be 1.3 but I expect the Edge Paris to be in the ballpark of 220g. The Adios Pro 3 by contrast is 280g. 60g is enough to be a completely different class of thing.
Ya… the scaling in sizing at the larger end seems off for many brands… almost like an aftermarket thought that could be optimized much much better. It definitely seems your some shoes in totally different classes.
Its mostly because of the "Foam" of the Shoe Bigger Shoes much more Foam. Is the Foam Heavier the differnce is bigger. Upper doesn't make a big difference between Size because the uppers is not the "main weight"
250-300miles is reasonable for training AND racing in a super shoe. I would expect these to be able to get that. A VF3 can heat 100-150 good racing miles and (at least) another 150+ training miles before there are issues with the foam. FFTurbo was always much more durable ithan that… which bodes well for FFTurbo+
Great to see that Asics did not "Nike" (make unnecessary and inferior changes) the new version. I hope they can pull off the same trick with the SuperBlast 2
My fingers (and toes) are definitely crossed for the SB2. I’ve heard some things that don’t give me much hope… but we won’t know until we see the official release info.
Vaporfly 3 was your shoe of the year in 2023. After this new update with the Edge Paris, which one would you pick to race in full marathon? Which one is more comfortable for a slow runner like me (4hr marathon)? I've been using Vaporfly 2 for a while and looking for a new racing shoe. Great review as always!
Actually, I believe FF Turbo that of into the Metaspeed Sky/Edge+ series and the Superblast is a supercritical nylon-based foam, not PEBA. It is my understanding that the new FF Turbo+ found in the Metaspeed Sky/Edge Paris lines is the first PEBA foam that ASICS has used.
i kinda low key waiting for asics to release their Superblast 2. I would like to use it as my daily trainer and also to complete my 3 shoes rotation. Not running in Marathon but loves running. So here is my recent collections and weekly routine now. 1. Fast Long Run (Sun) : Adios Pro 3 : 10 - 20km 2. Fast training 5-10k (Tue, Wed, Thu): Endorphin Speed 4 3. Recovery Run (Sat) : Superblast 2 ( Now using ESP4) I just need a daily non plated trainer but would love some versatility too. Questions? 1.Do you think superblast 2 (should it be released later this year🤞) fits the bill? Any good recommendations? 2.Do you know when it will be coming out? Are there any rumour you know, hehe. 3.In your training, how you incorporate rest day? What is a typical rest day for you (still interested in your running routine/training/practice videos) Thanks!
The he SB would not be my first choice for a recovery or easy day shoe. It can be but there are better options, even from Asics. Both the Novablast 4 and Nimbus 26 are better options for what you described. I don’t know when the SB2 will be out. I expect fall but it really could be anytime now the the new Metaspeeds are out… as is most of Asics 2024 line. We are only really waiting for the Magic Speed 4 and the Superblast 2 now. Per rest days… I run 6 days a week and make sure to take one day off. Sometimes I will go 10-12 days with no rest day but then my body tells me I need one… so I mostly stick to the 1 day a week rest day. I don’t do anything special on that day other than not run.
I'm getting puzzled with this new Metaspeed Paris series and their marketing. Now with the 5MM drop on both shoes this is getting even more confusing. I don't get why the lowered the drop on the Edge as previously it was at 8MM exactly as Vaporflys. As a forefoot/stride runner I both enjoyed Metaspeed Sky+ and Vaporflys (Sky+: obviously very natural stride feeling for me even though above 10-15KM they were kinda putting my calves at risk given the zero drop and honestly late in races when the form worsens they were a quite unstable shoe) (VFs: low plate / more aggressive/turnover feeling). Before going for these new models I'll be putting more test in the "equivalent" shoes (VaporFlys/Rocket X2 vs Alphafly's 1/3) to decide which profile I really enjoy the most (my guess is that I like both profiles depending on whether I feel I can run with a powerful stride or need more assistance in rolling forward 🤣🤣🤣)
The 5mm drop in the MSEP works IMO. Sure the VF3 is a 8mm drop, but ZoomX is so compressive you likely have an actual drop closer the 6mm in practice. The MSEP has no sink so it’s a real 5mm drop. As a forefoot striker I have no issues with it. Granted I haven’t run a marathon in it but for for the runs I’ve done in it I’ve had no issues. I do run in 0-10mm drop shoes on a regular basis and have found myself preferring the 5-8mm range lately, usually on the lower end. The MSEP definitely doesn’t have the negative drop feel of the Sky+ or the overly rigid and high feel the Edge+ had.
I’ve already bought too many shoes but I want these too. 😂 They had them at the Tokyo Marathon expo, but for whatever reason, it seems like the Japan release for these was delayed.
It’s odd because Taiwan is the last place to get any shoe it seems but we had both models in the main Asics stores on March 04, the day after the Tokyo Marathon… even now both models are still in stock in the main Asics stores in most sizes. I expect the initial batch of production was sold out nearly instantly in Japan. Mostly at the expo. Asics is VERY popular in Japan.
Having tried the Sky Paris in the store, which pair is softer? Just wanted to clarify because on the comparison video, you mentioned that the Edge feels firmer. Thank you in advance for your time and input 😊 And also, which has a wider forefoot space?
I never ran in the PXS1 or 2… so have no frame of reference. Sorry. I have run in Lightstrike Pro quite a bit though. FFTurbo+ is similar to LSP, though LSP has better energy return.
Question - Now the Magic Speed 3 is on sale.. I have the Sky Plus but only for max effort. Metaspeed Edge plus for slower runs.. How does the softer Paris model compare?
Similar plate dynamics and roll off of the toe with a vastly inferior foam that has none of the feel or response of FfTurbo+. It was a good shoe lat year but there are better options now. If the sale is over 40% it might be worth it… if not don’t bother.
So you're saying the feel of the 2 shoes is different because of the closeness of the plate to the floor. But does the shape of the plate also play a role? Otherwise they could just lower the plate of the Sky. There must be something to that spoon shape as well.
I never ran in the EP3, only had it on my foot. All I can say, is that it doesn't compare at all. The MSEP is on a totally different level. The next video on the channel with me comparing the EP4 to the MSEP, among others.
How is the fit/size versus the novablast? I take UK8 novablast 3 (perfectfor me). Is this sizing the same? I will get the Sky for my first marathon. Thanks for the best metaspeed review.
I wear the same size in the Edge Paris, Noveblast 4 and Superblast. Frankly I always wear US Men’s size 9 (27cm) in almost every shoe except a few trial shoes.
Ya, the UK stock of these is odd. The UK seemingly herniated quantities of every other supervisor… but the Metaspeeds. 🤷🏼♂️ There are new colorways coming as well. Maybe you’ll just get those next.
I've emailed them to ask re timescale, as i want a new shoe for the rest of racing season. Otherwise I'll give the Vaporfly 3s a go I guess, as the 2s worked well for me but mine have a lot of miles in them now.
Thanks yes been looking through many of your videos. I'm now leaning towards Takumi Sen 10s as my main aims at the moment are 5k and 10k PBs and they seem like the shoe for that, and are in stock and much cheaper than VP3 and Metaspeed. Never had an Adidas shoe but will size up as advised - even Adidas recommend this now on their website. Cheers, great channel
I went TTS in both. The AP3 is wider in the forefoot and a little shorter, but still not a problem in my US Men’s size 9. The upper on the MSEP is much better and cleaner and bothers the foot less… it’s a true race fit upper. The upper on the AP3 is a mess with a horrible design and can be ill fitting for some.
Hard to say. I don’t think there is any one rule here. It’s going to come down to what your feet and legs are used to. If you run in other high plated shoes then it will feel normal. If not, or don’t run in plated shoes at all, it could feel a bit fatiguing, at first… but you’ll adapt.
The sizing of Paris series feel a bit smaller on my feet compare to previous generation especially the sky paris series. Been using 9us for my novablast 3, superblast, sky+ and tarther rp 3 with no issue at all but Paris feel to tight on my front toe ☹ Kinda weird when most of the review said true to size. Kinda same fitting as Magic Speed 3 for me which to tight on my feet.
That is strange. The Paris series definitely fits longer than the Sky Plus for me and the shoe is nearly a half size longer over my MS3 l, also in a size 9 US Men’s. Feet anatomy is so fascinating and how shoes all fit drastically different.
Agree I had to size up half a size in the Edge Paris and Sky Plus. Sky Plus slightly longer only a couple of MM. I would have gone up half in the Magic Speed 3 too if they had made a UK 12. Superblast I'm a UK 11!
The vaporfly 3 caused awful pain in my arches after 2 runs and I returned them. I have a wider midfoot and higher arches. Is the midfoot of the asics super narrow like the vaporfly 3?
@@SagasuRunning Great...Have you heard of others having arch pain from the vaporfly 3? I'm a heel striker daily training in triumph/novablast 3 and race in NB SC Elite v3. Really wanted the Nike's to work, but it wasn't worth getting plantar fasciatis.. The SC Elite fit great, but dont have same energy as vaporfly. Any other recommendations?
@Strizzle81 Arch pain is omnipresent in all Nike racers. I’ve never experienced it. I have high and developed arches (from years of barefoot runner I guess) so maybe I’m the arch shape that works.
It will work fine but there are better options. Adidas Takumi Sen 10, Adidas Asios 8, Hoka Cielo Road…. Would all be better for the intervals especially.
Asics Edge Paris are really really amazing. I had the Sky version and had to return them since it was a very flat without ankle/arch support shoe. In contrast to the new Paris Edge which I like very much. I feel the Edge is very similar to my ultimate favorite racing day shoe, The VaporFly3. Asics Edge 🔥🔥
Chris, yesterday I saw a 6 months (and awesome) video of yours about ASICS’ marketing strategy stride vs cadence where you were saying the way to go is ASICS kills Edge. Do you still believe that? EDGE Paris is becoming a real success.
I’m actually even more convinced of it now with the Paris series. They have basically merged the two shoes into one with only the plate configuration being different now. I bet the Sky Paris still sells 2:1 over the Edge as well. The other option is for them to drop the whole stride vs cadence things and find another way to communicate the differences. Or to differentiate the two shoes in o distinct models (like the Nike or Adidas have). The marketing around stride vs cadence is problematic.
@@SagasuRunning Yes but in your case and most non average runners prefer EDGE so if ASICS kills it, result will be not good. Fully agree on the second point I had a thought of it yesterday they should market it differently this stride -cadence thing is confusing, your video about marketing made a lot of sense to me. Better keep both the shoes just they can change the story. Just as Nike did.
@yiann1sk Ya, we will see what they do. If you notice the marketing of the Paris series they downplay the stride vs cadence thing quite a bit. It is still there but in the background now. When the Plus series launched in 2022 it was front and center and everything was based around it.
@@SagasuRunning Hi Chris in the latest video of The Run Testers, Nick a sub 2h30 marathoner who is a self-described cadence runner picked up Metaspeed Sky Paris for his London Marathon. Just saw it and thought I'd let you know.
Sadly ASICS only wants to sell large footed runners like me the likes of Kayano but good to hear what I am missing as it were. Interesting that you say the Edge is more like a Vaporfly and presume Sky more like an Alphafly ? Is the Vaporfly also the Nike one you like the best of those two? It would be interesting to do some shoeoff type tests between the Edge & Sky to test these short distance theories by the well known TH-camr you are dismissing and must say have to agree that both are styled as racing shoes for the marathon. Then again is that a marketing thing as well these days. I race in the same shoe (Vaporfly) in literally everything from short sprints I training to a mile road race through to a marathon. I don’t change shoe according to the distance like some TH-camrs who seem unable to run a certain distance in a shoe designed for that purpose. Always think well good job you weren’t reviewing shoes in the road racing flat era as you would never have managed to get past a 5K even in training.
@@brianreiter5572 ha ha. I probably could literally run in a UK 12 (not my TTS UK 13) as I have done in a VF1 and Novablast 3 but these shoes I feel are far to expensive for a likely black toe experiment :)
@@SagasuRunning I did do a few decent 5Ks and one 10K in the VF1 in a UK 12 but every step I felt my foot was too far forward and right up against the toebox. I did wear the one time on the treadmill with no socks which I do with spikes for track races but for road races that seems to be asking for trouble :)
What I wanna see is if they actually do bring out the Superblast V2, and if they delayed it's release to couple it with FFTurbo+. That might make me give it a whirl. If I wasn't so enamoured with the AlphaFly V3, I might consider the Metaspeed Paris options....but that 5mm drop gives me concerns at the full marathon. But I think you're right, we are about to run into a new stage of racers with great foams AND light weight, which I think the non top 3 companies will struggle to catch up to again. If athletes start to demand racers with a reference size weight at or below 7oz...it's going to really create a have and have not playing field for the next 12-18months or more.
A SB2 with FFTurbo+ and no plate would be fantastic. I don’t even thing you need the FFBlast+ layer anymore given how FFTurbo+ now feels. The smaller brands are already behind when it comes to weight and the gap is just going to grow. I agree with you.

Great video once again! Can’t wait to run in mine. I ordered the Edge Paris on release day US M9 still waiting for them to ship and most sizes are out of stock now. Hopefully on Monday if not I will have to give them a call for an update.
I’m really enjoying them. Oddly they are still in stock in the many Asics stores here in Taipei. Both models and all sizes.
Here in EU Edge is sold and Sky is available in all sizes.@@SagasuRunning
@justoutlaw6423 Odd… but that shows me Asics favors the Sky model significantly still as they stock more of them than the Edge model.
LSP, in my experience, is the most resilient super foam . I hope the new Asics foam is as resilient (getting the Edge when it lands over here).
I agree… and FFTurbo+ is not as resilient. It also is less spring like in its rebound like LSP is. I’ve also said ZoomX is like a yoga ball, LSP is like a spring… so FfTurbo+ is like a tennis ball.

It is still stiff, but nowhere as stiff as it was, it's not far off from the other top super shoes now. But the foam and the plate work together now and don't fight each other.
Absolutely love the charts. My metaspeed edge Paris is in the mail :) very excited to run in it
It’s a special one… enjoy it. I’ll look forward to your own video on the show. I’m curious. 🤙🏻
Let’s get this G to 100k subs. Incredibly intelligent and information content.
I appreciate the support! 🚀🤙🏻
I thought the sky was meant to be the more bouncy of the two mspeeds ?
Reread my comment… that is what I said. MSSP = Sky.
@@SagasuRunning I ended up purchasing both. I will use the edge for shorter races. I found it very aggressive for on longer runs. I feel like the sky is better for me at marathon pace. Kofuzi mentioned this and I must agree completely with his perspective After wearing both on long runs.
Good luck with them and enjoy them… they are great super shoes! 🤙🏻
Those AP3s have served you well. Don’t change now. Boston is very soon!
Great review! I wonder if sky Paris would be similar to zoomx feeling because of the softer feeling you mentioned
It’s not… FFTurbo+ is much firmer than ZoomX. Even the big chunk of it under then plate in the forefoot doesn’t offer any type of ZoomX sink.
Which one , sky Paris or edge Paris would compare closer to the Nike alphafly 1 thanks
Great video. Looks like a winner.
It seems like dropping weight and refinement is the theme for 2024.
Great review, really looking forward to these! I wonder how much a hot and humid climate is affecting the durability of different foams.
Another top video. Hoping the edge Paris drops tomorrow in the uk🤞(neither models have dropped as of yet)
I thought the Sky was available?
@@SagasuRunning nope, but some uk shoe reviewers have them.
Really informative thank you 😊
Thank you for watching. 🤙🏻
Sam told me he wore the Metaspeed Sky Paris, just not the Red colour way.
Curious to know, how’s the stability with the Edge Paris?
Thanks for the great content, new subscriber here 👏🏽
While it is narrow and it does feel like you are up on a high platform… but overall it is stable enough for a super shoe intended for road racing. The overall package of the shoe is very well considered.
Can you please make a video comparing the Metaspeed Edge Paris to the Vaporfly 3
That is the next one up on the channel on Tuesday. Stay tuned. 🤙🏻
@@SagasuRunning Thank you so much for the response. Makes sense!
Seems like ASICS might have the best lineup in the game right now
At the moment then sure do… but Adidas will have something to say about that in the coming months.
The rubber outsoles add more than the foam, unless you are in the extreme upper end of the range with TPU foams… then they get very brick like.
Hoping these doesnt bottom out after 400-500km 😅 bought a pair and i also share your thoughts. Great review as always. Keep it up!
I think you should be happy if these make that distance.
Got my Boston 12 for $77 on Women’s day discount Chris.. worth it?
Totally worth it. 👍🏻
@@SagasuRunning As same as your awesome content!
That is an amazing deal I got mine for $110 and couldn’t be happier once they broke in.
My next video is a MSEP vs VF3 where I’ll go into my thoughts on that very question.
FFTurbo was a generic PEBA (Polyether Block Amid or nylon elastomer) which is why many refer to it as “nylon” based.
Will you be doing a review on the Metaspeed Sky Paris as well?
I’m not planning on it. I know the shoe doesn’t work for me so there is no reason for me to go buy it.
i kinda low key waiting for asics to release their Superblast 2.
I would like to use it as my daily trainer and also to complete my 3 shoes rotation.
Not running in Marathon but loves running. So here is my recent collections and weekly routine now.
1. Fast Long Run (Sun) : Adios Pro 3 : 10 - 20km
2. Fast training 5-10k (Tue, Wed, Thu): Endorphin Speed 4
3. Recovery Run (Sat) : Superblast 2 ( Now using ESP4)
I just need a daily non plated trainer but would love some versatility too.
Questions?
1.Do you think superblast 2 (should it be released later this year🤞) fits the bill? Any good recommendations?
2.Do you know when it will be coming out? Are there any rumour you know, hehe.
3.In your training, how you incorporate rest day? What is a typical rest day for you (still interested in your running routine/training/practice videos)
Thanks!

They had them at the Tokyo Marathon expo, but for whatever reason, it seems like the Japan release for these was delayed.
The Sky Paris felt softer to be due to the high plate configuration putting all that foam under the plate and the ground.
@@SagasuRunning Thank you very much. Keep the guitar riffs coming btw 🎸🤘🏽😊
Haha… there will be more. Don’t worry. Just gotta find the shoes with the right vibe for them.
I find the Sky Paris more protective but not softer. Edge Paris the forefoot sinks in more.
So which metaspeed would be better for shorter distance? Or both will do good for short distance?
Both...doesn't matter...it still comes down to what feel you prefer (see my "choosing the right Metaspeed for you" video...
I wear a size 9.5 on almost all my shoes, but had to get a1/2 size up. I think it runs a bit small.
Fit is very individual but the majority is reviews I have seen said TTS Andni full echo that for the Paris series.
Could you compare the edge's midsole softness & with the adidas Prime X Strung v1 pls
I never ran in the PXS1 or 2… so have no frame of reference. Sorry.
I have run in Lightstrike Pro quite a bit though. FFTurbo+ is similar to LSP, though LSP has better energy return.
@@SagasuRunning could you compare midsole of the Edge with that of the SC Elite V4 please?
I don’t run in NB…. Sorry. Not my thing.
Asiscs edge paris or nike vaporfly 3 ? For 5-10k races
Right now… for 5-10k races (for me)… Takumi Sen 10, VF3 then the MSEP…. The TS10 and VF3 are even and far ahead of the MSEP for those short races.
@@SagasuRunning youd rate the adidas tak sen on par with vapor3?
For 5-10ks… definitely. For anything longer… unlikely, though the TS10 is surprisingly versatile.
@@SagasuRunning thank you
Question - Now the Magic Speed 3 is on sale..
It’s all about the shape and height of the plate. There really the only difference here. See my last video for a deeper dive into the topic.
Compared to endorphin pro 3?
Thanks for this. Just wish they'd get these back in stock, they must have underestimated demand (UK)
Ya, the UK stock of these is odd. The UK seemingly herniated quantities of every other supervisor… but the Metaspeeds. 🤷🏼♂️
There are new colorways coming as well. Maybe you’ll just get those next.
I've emailed them to ask re timescale, as i want a new shoe for the rest of racing season. Otherwise I'll give the Vaporfly 3s a go I guess, as the 2s worked well for me but mine have a lot of miles in them now.
The VF3 is a great shoe… but it’s very different than the VF2. Much softer. I have a recent video talking about it.
The TS10 is great. Size up .5 from your normal size.
How does the size from the edge compare to adidas adios pro 3?
I went TTS in both. The AP3 is wider in the forefoot and a little shorter, but still not a problem in my US Men’s size 9. The upper on the MSEP is much better and cleaner and bothers the foot less… it’s a true race fit upper. The upper on the AP3 is a mess with a horrible design and can be ill fitting for some.
@@SagasuRunning thanks - so you run both shoes in the same size?
I alternate them on runs for testing over multiple days, yes. I don’t actually run with them on different feet at the same time.
Is the sky paris better for slow pace runner? I've read in some comments that it gives their legs fatigue because the plate positioning is on top.
Are you in the Paris sky or edge ?
Me? Edge Paris… per this review.
Agree I had to size up half a size in the Edge Paris and Sky Plus. Sky Plus slightly longer only a couple of MM. I would have gone up half in the Magic Speed 3 too if they had made a UK 12. Superblast I'm a UK 11!
I had thought FF Turbo was a nylon based foam?
FFTurbo is a generic PEBA (Polyether Block Amid or nylon elastomer) which is why many refer to it as “nylon” based.
The vaporfly 3 caused awful pain in my arches after 2 runs and I returned them. I have a wider midfoot and higher arches. Is the midfoot of the asics super narrow like the vaporfly 3?
Yes… it’s very similar. I’ll be published a MSEP vs VF3 video tomorrow getting into those details.
Do you think its a good shoes for 5 km / 10km and for some interval sprint?
It will work fine but there are better options. Adidas Takumi Sen 10, Adidas Asios 8, Hoka Cielo Road…. Would all be better for the intervals especially.
Which shoe do you feel the most rolling sensation?
Edge Paris or Vaporfly 3?
You are asking the right question. I will say the Edge Paris here…
I have a MSEP vs VF3 video coming out on Tuesday… I go into it more in depth there.
Agree, the Edge Paris is a big upgrade. I also do fine the ankle are slightly more supportive. It’s minor but can make all the difference.
@yiann1sk Nick is the only one I really listen to on RT… he is also a heel striker who like bouncy shoes… so I wasn’t surprised by his pick.
Who is the youtuber to whom you refer?
Begins with a K…
The solution is clear, Tim. You just need to have a a half a cm shaved off of your toes. What could be simpler?
My next video… on Tuesday… is a MSEP vs VF3 comparison… I have thoughts and data. 👍🏻
@@brianreiter5572 ha ha. I probably could literally run in a UK 12 (not my TTS UK 13) as I have done in a VF1 and Novablast 3 but these shoes I feel are far to expensive for a likely black toe experiment :)
@TimGrose But these may be shoes you actually like AND I doubt they would be “bricks” in your size… might be worth the black toenails… haha.
@@SagasuRunning I did do a few decent 5Ks and one 10K in the VF1 in a UK 12 but every step I felt my foot was too far forward and right up against the toebox. I did wear the one time on the treadmill with no socks which I do with spikes for track races but for road races that seems to be asking for trouble :)
intelligent and simple description... all others are remixing everything bullshiting
Thank you. Thank you. 🙏🏻
Over..the edge…is intentional 😂
Edge over Sky… is very intentional. 🤙🏻
