Two weeks ago my blood pressure was 212/128 and I was taking extra blood pressure medicines. I changed my diet completely and this morning my blood pressure is 108/67 and I am completely off of blood pressure medicines. I can teach anybody to do the same. Stop eating all foods that convert to sugar and increase your intake of avocados, walnuts, hemp seed, and a high polyphenol count olive oil, eat lots of fish that is high in omega 3 oils, and green leafy vegetables. Also, take a high-fiber supplement that is pure like psyllium hulls. Do not take Metamucil as it does contain psyllium hulls, however, it also contains other ingredients that are really bad for your intake. The first week you will feel bloated from the high-fiber diet, however, that will pass and the high fiber will lower your cholesterol. Another benefit you will receive is your arthritis (which is only inflammation) will go away. High blood pressure can be completely controlled by diet. I hope this helps and good luck to you.

Well, your body turns ALL food into glucose for fuel, even meat. The only thing it doesn't convert to sugar is fat. So I would say..don't eat food that quickly converts to sugar.

Just to clarify, while we were taught in Med School that melatonin was produced in the pineal body, it has been recently recognized that over 90% is produced in the mitochondria in our skin in response to near-infrared light (NIR) exposure.
NIR is therefore essential for our good health (which is why in the old days, hospitals had a Solarium). NIR light, unlike UV, does not require direct sun exposure, but is absorbed while in the shade and NIR light penetrates clothing, so no need to disrobe. Nowadays, we all get less NIR due to low-E glass in our cars and houses, being outdoors less, along with missing the NIR coming from incandescent bulbs since switching to LEDs.
This makes eating pistachios important while sitting outside.

Hi Dr. Gundry, speaking of oxidation, what about 3% food grade hydrogen peroxide, taken internally. I have been taking from 4 to 7 drops every morning for the past three years. Will this oxidize my body? What are the downsides of following this particle? I continue using liquid oxygen, because I have not gotten sick during this time even when in contact with Covid or other illnesses. I feel this has contributed to keeping my body protected from viruses.

I love pistachios and have eaten them most of my life. I recently saw a video by another doctor saying that pistachios can cause inflammation of the prostate. A day or two before I had a PSA test I ate a large amount of the nuts, my level was on the high normal range, after the results came back it had increased from 3.8 to 4.5 which is high, granted I ate a pound of these beauties in a couple of hours. So is this true? No telling for sure, I'm not going to eat any for weeks and retake the test. My point I guess is there is so much we simply don;t know about food and health. Dr. G says tomatoes are bad because of the lectins yet lycopene is considered good. So who's right? The debate continues across the board and will continue for some time. Remember when eggs could kill you and high carb diets were all the rage?

I'll give credit where it's due. To be honest, I expected this video to end with an ad for something along this lines of "Gundry's Premium Himalayan Supreme Pistachios"....to have any true nutritional value they have to come from this spot, etc. But, this time, he did not try to sell me something at an insane premium. OPEC would've blushed at the pricing of his boutique olive oil, from a year or so back. I may add pistachios to the diet....as long as I'm certain I can show some restraint. Pistachios, macadamias, and cashews disappear QUICKLY in front of me, if I'm not careful.

The blood serum melatonin does it get in mitochondria? Dr. Guntry's guest Ben Greenfield on red light didn't make the connection with IR intracelular melatonin production either (loved the genital red light exposure tho :) . Another issue with consuming any considerable amount of melatonin (any source) is the fact that elevaed serum melatonin inhibits testosterone, a problem for most men. After all this is exactly what keeps boys below 12yo from puberty.
