At nearly $170k MSRP, it makes me wonder how much breathing room they have left for the Alpina ... Unless of course they're planning to turn the B7 into a Maybach competitor with a stretched wheelbase and everything. I'm with you on the cashmere/leather combo. They should've did it like the RR Velar.
Good point . . . In some areas of the market, there seems to be no cap and OEMs playing in that arena are constantly testing those boundaries. In other areas, mainly mass market brands trying to move up, have fallen flat. Example: Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
I'm not an EV guy, but the i7 makes the most sense as the base 50 model. If you truly wanted a "sports EV", wouldn't you just go for Porsche? Save the money and go all in on the luxury (and range). The 19" wheels will ride better and the non-M body brings it (slightly) more in line with Rolls Royce.

Great video, as usual, MotoMan! While this isn't my cup of tea, I appreciate what it is. I agree, that manufacturers should at least have *one* vehicle in the lineup with the driving dynamics (or close to) of their "flagship" products. Put it in the 60-70ish grand range so normal people can realistically afford it - whether new or used - and enjoy it. The "look what we can do when there is no budget" thing is great, but keeps the good stuff out of reach for the rest of us!
Can you start doing videos on more varied cars? I feel like we’ve seen every iteration of electric German car but they all seem the same besides for small differences. Still watch every video
Hi Michael! Appreciate you watching and the feedback. As you may have see, we do feature a range of cars on the show, however when we step away from German, fast, expensive (ICE or EV), views are significantly lower. Would love to try more and varied cars, but there needs to be an ROI.
@@andrei12122 Probably because of the profile resemblance to the RR's one (at least up to the A pilar 1:24). I would, rather euphemistically, describe it "eclectic". PS Had it been slower, it would have been called "majestic".
Well at least it does have presence unlike the S class which looks more like a normal car with an S class grille, and the reliability of the w223 is catastrophic enough to be not classified as a luxurious car
@@seansiew5629 Both of you guys are blind. Presence? Yeah a rhino or a hippo has presence too. You think a new BMW's reliability is going to be better? You would have to be brain dead to pay 170K for a 7-Series. It won't be worth squat later.
The US market continues to get short-changed when it comes to BMW, safety features, and options. Starting for the 2024/2025 BMW Model Year, particularly X5, X6, X7, and the new 5 and 7 Series, the new 4 Series, the US market will no longer get fully adaptive LED headlights, which means your LED headlights will no longer turn left or right when you turn the steering. Also, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), ranked the 2024 and 2025 BMW LED headlights as awful because they are not as bright and there is a lot of glare in them, making them terrible. The high beam is practically useless. What is going on with BMW? Has raised the prices by about 35%, but it keeps cutting corners. Can someone shine a light here? Seriously? The lights are safety factors.
The cloth fabric interior in your car here in the video is horrendous. For $200g, heck for $100g, you cannot slap an elongated iPad on the dash & call it macaroni. But, the rest of the car & the fact it feels like a BMW is soooo cool. I'll never own one, but super appreciate how BMW is making cars up & down it's vast product line, that drive like BMWs should.
Does anyone know why BMW isn’t offering a proper executive seating package for the new 7 series? The rear seats are still a bench and don’t have the individual 2 seats they used to in the past or that rivals like the s class have
That seat fabric material looks like some kind of psychedelic sixties poster on this video, it appears to be moving/changing. So Huggy Bear on an acid trip. I think BMW pulled the price out of a hat because it bears no relation to the xdrive60's price. $45,000 for upgrading the rear motor and inverter? The "M" badge carries a very high price, indeed.
If the hideous and utterly heavy XM can be a M car then this should be the M7....however, the previous generation V12 (M760iL) should have been coined M7.
I left the BMW train after many years of having always one...which is quite sad to say.
