It is so satisfying watching a motorcyclist/experienced bike builder working on a moped. All the nice parts, thorough refresh and rebuild, and not hacking the poor moped up. Can't wait to see the final result!
Its often a balance of life in the form of time, but also just straight up struggle. The hard fact is that this youtube stuff doesnt pay me personally much at all and these script videos take like 25+ hours at the computer to make. This video in fact is barely making it over 1k views by the time you look at this comment.....and it is what it is yes, But in this case of absence I literally just worked a second job to get more out of those hypothetical 25 hours.
I've got this 4 speed 50cc Minarelli race engine that would go pretty good in that application lol. I'll probably show it in the next episode. I wish I had a frame to put it in!
Miss your weekly uploads. Used to watch you 5+ years ago when I was first getting into bikes..we have come along way since then always glad to see your still around…hope everything is going good for you tho man love from Vermont. 🏍 ❤
Love how the listing called a 2007 moped vintage :) Looking forward to this little project, got a little moped heading my way too, but mine is 50+ years old, so slightly more work
Lol, it's to capture the eyes of the hipster browsers out here and distinguish it from the flood of Chinese scooters we have in NYC....Most people ALSO call them mopeds so it's hard to split them up when searching ads.
HeyParish. Great to see you heading down this avenue. I worked at NYC Mopeds briefly, right about the same time you started at Revzilla. Great shop. Great crew. Keep up the good work sir.
I'm so jealous looking at that seat storage and rack. I know you can add a rack to anything, but it's nice that the seat storage is part of the design.
Bro, I cant believe that you did tomos 😅 I was born in Serbia (ex Yu) and grew up on those. That is later model Automatik we call it, with that tank on it. Bike was junk if you ask me😁 But just because of that its perfect for overhauling. Respect bro. I don't know if we exported Tomos apn 4 . Check it, it has gears and far more robust. Anyway I wish all the best in future projects. Rock on 🤘
Ow these Tomos mopeds were an are nice! Very easy to work on. Great fun to ride around. I wanted a VS50 Puch 3 speed. You modify the steering tube to be taller and you had a mped you could ride like a 50CC Harley Davidson.
Yeah! I saw the chopper style mopeds complete with long front ends and sissy bars lol. I have a Minarelli 4 speed engine NOS.... I just need a frame for it 🤔
@@Theillestrator1050 I looked at pics from a Minarelli racing bike. Nice! With some customization you might fit that engine on a Suzuki GT50 frame, but 70's style moped frames are hard to come by.
I used to have one without pedals. It was a fun little ride. I traded it to a friend of mine for a set of coilover sleeves for my car. Lol. I kinda miss it
Wow this is too cool bro I used to own a Tomos Racing TT (Which is a moped but since it has no pedals so some people call it a Noped). Nowadays I own a e-moped that goes 30 MPH, I love the lower maintenance and cheaper to own but man I sure do miss going 45 mph on the TT when it was modded and that 2-stroke sound. However I don't miss measuring/mixing oil and gas especially in the freezing cold.
Right I know the Racing TT model. I still have that ebike that I reviewed and I feel you on the simplicity and maintenance but yeah, this moped is tons more fun. My Ebike dont pop wheelies lol.
It's one of the most popular and easy to mod mopeds in the usa. I'd say top three are Tomos, Puchs and probably Batavus. Then there's Garellis, Chiaos, Suzukis. Weird shit like AMFs and Kreidlers.
Yeah Tomos is pretty common here, I would throw the Honda 50s up there in popularity from what I've seen too. Jax, I'm actually sitting on a NOS Minarelli p4 but I have no frame to put it in lol
@@Theillestrator1050 Building a frame around it might be your next step in your journey. I have my old Kinectic TFR engine kicking around and thought about the same thing- an alumimum frame and belt to chain drive.
It does right? I ended up liking the step through look more after buying a top tank, but I sorta meet in the middle by running a small flat bottom tank.
@@Theillestrator1050 Hmmm interesting. Can't wait to see the final look you went with. I have no idea if this is available (just from a quick look on treatland.. quite the site indeed😂), but I think a saddlebag-style running down the frame could be cool. The only thing that looks like it *could* work in that config is the 'honda hobbit camino' tank, but it would prob need slicing in half and modding to all heaven, and that's without worrying about knee clearances. Something like that or a custom underseat tank maybe... One thing is, neither of those would have the range of the original tank, but it's not like anyone would go touring on one of these things.. hold up. Lemme take that back😂😂
Awesome seeing you build a Tomos. Correct me if im wrong but I dont think airsal made an 70cc for any tomos. The highest cc I can find is 65cc (44mm bore) I think the cilinder you have is for puch as they fit on tomos without problems. But I am doubting myself because the exhaust does fit without cutting an angle an welding it. I am interested what cilinder you used because I am building a 70cc myself for an a35 but I am working with a puch cilinder. Anyway enjoy the build and good work!

How is life on the speed tripple? Was really happy for you on that bike, giggle meter was at redline.
