    What a superb performance put up by Stuart Broad, he hits a six on his last ball as a batsman and scalps the final wicket of his last ball to win it for England! Such a genius as he pulls the curtains down in style. A fairytale ending to a great career. Cheers 🥂 Broady,have a great life ahead❤

    I'm an Aussie fan, but one of the reasons I love sport is those fairytale endings, the unlikely wins, the underdog stories etc. I'm glad we retained the Ashes, but Stuart Broad is a legend and I'm glad he got to finish his amazing career in such a way. Not every great player gets to have such a moment and create such memories. An amazing see-sawing series. Can't wait for the next one!

      @artful1967 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      you retained them for 2 reasons only
      1) "gamesmanship"
      2) the weather
      England were by far the better team and didn't need to cheat. But what can you expect when you have 2 proven cheats in the team. Well done England. Made the ozzies look bang average at best.

    • @fattttb0y
      @fattttb0y 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@artful1967 Utterly Classless and what I have come to expect from typical whingeing poms.
      Understand the history of cricket before throwing the first stone. Were you so quick to judge Atherton when he ball tampered (and then lied about it before being exposed as a liar) ? What about 2005's now illegal exploitation of the substitute fielder rules ? Countless more examples, of which bodyline was the most egregious - England have absolutely no moral high ground in this sport.
      It's a massive stretch to think that even if Bairstow hadn't got himself stumped that England would have won that match. It was a sliding doors moment that turned Stokes on. There's every chance his innings doesn't happen, and Bairstow himself didn't average the 40-odd missing runs. Look elsewhere for that win.
      And lastly weather ? open the other eye. England had BY FAR the better weather conditions for the entire series - Leeds cost Australia being sent out to bat in the gloom. Then chuck in the ball-change at the Oval which cost Australia the 5th test to boot and you have an England team that was very lucky for 4 tests and very unlucky for one.
      Such a shame you don't possess the self awareness to realise your own biases and just applaud and enjoy an incredible series.

You knew you had a tough game ahead when there was an Aussie in the team, hard working, competitive, aggressive, skillful, but played in the spirit of the great game of cricket. Not much in team sports to compare with a good Ashes series. Well played both teams! (Except for the shady stumpings or runouts, both teams, cut it out, you’re better than that). @jojohehe3251 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Quite right, he finished with the asterisk he deserved, a callow act of desperation by England, outperformed, to get a new ball and have it do the work for them. After all that blathering bullshit about the spirit of cricket, you got a ball that would swing. You can't put the ball where you need it, you can't bowl a consistent, disciplined line and length, you just get a magic Duke that will swing late and unpredictably and the batsman gets out.
      Australians all deplored the sandpaper incident, which was 100% about getting access to the replacement balls. England, the first home of cricket cowardice under Jardine, has luxuriated in condescending to Australia since that time. Well, bitching about a ball which clearly had nothing wrong with it until the 11th time was a charm is nothing different. You were like the spoilt brats of the subcontinent demanding a wicket.
      It would have been infinitely preferable as a gentleman to have sustained a fighting loss against an opponent who turned up and outperformed you. Instead, you have a draw on the scoreboard and no guts, balls or spines to speak of. You've utterly forgotten what cricket is meant to be about, 5 minutes after lecturing everyone else.
      As an Australian I cannot stand the woke asylum the place has become and as far as I was concerned, Smith and Warner should have been banned for life. I had them pegged as morally equal to Hansie Cronje. But then came the revelations of England's two-year campaign to find the best lollies to apply to Kookaburras and Dukes. England is the reason food is banned on the field. Literally every other team cheats and tries to damage balls, they throw into the ground on purpose to scuff and soften them for spinners. India doctors wickets even to the point of obvious selective watering of pitch regions useful to their own bowlers. Australia was simply doing what everyone else did. England applied pressure to umpires, rather than sandpaper, to get undeserved benefit from a replacement ball. Can you imagine cricketers of the 1970s being asked to do that? What kind of woman are you that you can't handle losing while busting your gut? To me it's a fucking disgrace. You might as well try to find a clean cyclist as a respectable cricketer. Smith and Warner can still get fucked, but so can everyone else.
      Test cricket is about sportsmanship, and that's gone. Right now, England is the exemplar of that. If you had anything worth defending in terms of character, you'd be devastated at this episode. It would be a antional shame and your coach and captain would be fronting a press gaggle announcing resignations. But you pretend it's not a problem, because you yourself have no character. It's things like this that give me savage pleasure that your country is being overrun by savages and you're such pussies you sit there and tolerate cringeworthy lectures by your pudgy, useless police. There is no such thing as an Englishman any more.

    Joyous, moment for Broady, but what made his final wicket so perfect, was the fact that the always brilliant Nasser Hussain was commentating. Two great English cricketing icons. Listening to the pair of them commentating together during the recent Eng/NZ one day series; just brilliant incite and humor from them both.

Twists and turns in every single game. 2-2 is a fair result considering how evenly matched these two sides were. This English summer has embodied everything that’s awesome about Test Cricket, it will always reign supreme. Watching this series has been like watching a cinematic blockbuster, a true masterpiece!
    Also, massive well done to Stuart Broad on an magnificent career. 150 Ashes Wickets and 600 Test Wickets is an extraordinary achievement. He has been picnic enemy No.1 in Australia for so long, but I have nothing but admiration and respect for him. The ultimate competitor, well done mate.

    As a Canadian, this is the first Ashes, in fact the first cricket series, I've ever taken interest in. And I'm so glad I did. What a series it was, the explosive start by the Australians in the first two tests, the drama dismissal, the drawn 4th test, and the roaring come back finish in the final test by England to tie the series in the end. If not for that drawn test, England would have taken the series for sure, they were the better team in the majority of the tests. Insane that I started this series not having any interest in cricket at all and now I've watched the whole series and can't wait for the 2025/26 edition.

    Stuart Board has to be praised for his mental toughness and resilience shown !! What a bowler England had !! He could have easily been shadowed by James Anderson but he chose to carve out a name for himself. 600 wickets for a fast bowler is really no joke (even in country like England) and this guy chose every way to serve his country than to look for means to earn money.
