What we've learnt. 1. The Smith opener experiment has failed. Australia need to be looking towards the future not the past. Smith's hand eye coordination is deteriorating as he ages. He needs to bat more side on without the shuffle. 2. Without Kwajah the top order is frail. They need to invest in a fresh opener pretty quickly. Put Smith back to 4. 3. The return of quality West Indian cricket might be on the horizon.
