While doing that vacuuming of the windscreen glass, I would pull the engine bay firewall access point for the blower fan, so as to vacuum out the interior of the HVAC system as well. Ford was notorius for no intake vent screening to prevent crud from getting down in there. Leaves and all get in there, plus the mouse nests. I'd love to engineer a way to put heavy duty mesh screen under that hood cowl so as to prevent future intrusions.

It’s definitely on my to do list when I go to clean out that cowl. I am very curious if there is a way to put a screen like your saying. That is something I will have to ponder and maybe McGiver.
