I turned my computer on to look for an easy lined bag tutorial with zipper tabs. Voilá! A notification came in on your video and it's exactly what I was looking for (and I didn't even have to look!). Thank you Sherri.
You are an excellent teacher. Free m a former high school teacher. Your quilts are beautiful.?Also your other projects. Glad I came upon your web!!👏👏👏👍👍👍
Thank you Sherri! I made this bag for a Christmas present and was terrified of putting the zipper in, but you made it so easy and did the step by step video. My zipper went perfectly and I’m so excited to have this wonderful gift to give! 💜
I have made many zip bags, but I always love to watch new videos to get new tips. I think I will start using tabs on the zipper, as it make it neater with less bulk. Thank you.
Sherri you are a wonderful teacher- I spent part of my morning with someone that needs to watch your channel before her company has her do more ZOOM workshops 👍 thank you! I will be making these soon for Holiday gifts 🎁
society has allowed the bar to drop deplorably low a good teacher is one who respects time of others, keeps tutorials under 10-15 minutes, talks to the point, has a decent vocabulary and says *blunt* when referring to a blade.
This is a really good tutorial. I was trying to find a tutorial for a quilted and lined bag with no raw edges on the inside of the bag and surprisingly couldn't find that combination until I got to this video. Thank you so much!
Thanks so much for your detailed tutorials I made my first bag ever with your patchwork drawstring bag and I made 4 of them and now will attempt the dreaded zipper with this bag. thanks so much for ALL that you do!
This is a fantastic tutorial, Sherri! Definitely a step-up from the bags I've been making. I love the way that you insert a lining. No seams inside! Thank you!! ♥️🧵😊
thnx..you did fine job of demonstrating how to make this lil bag...I was sewing along with you and finished my first lil bag!! thnx again...GG......(grama gayle)
Sherri, that was a wonderful demo for stitching a cute zipper pouch. Thanks a lot for explaining every step in detail. No doubt, you are a great seamstress but you are a greater tutor !!
Excellent tutorial!! I bought your pattern from Etsy, and I think between the tutorial and the pattern I will be making many bags for a long time to come! Thank you!!
This is a wonderful tutorial! Thanks so much! I have made several of these bags for Christmas gifts. I plan on sharing this with friends as well. Please keep up the good work!
Thank you Sherri for another wonderful video!! I agree with other commenters that say you are an excellent teacher. I think my first time putting in a zipper was for the project case from the sew sampler box!!!😍
Hi Sheri, thank you for the tutorial. Is it possible to cut the Soft and Stable a quarter inch narrower around the edges to avoid so much bulk in the seam?
I love the zipper tabs! I’m very new to sewing but can the zipper tab trick be used on most projects? I’ve noticed that I don’t care for the way my pouches look without using zipper tabs on the end.
QUESTION: I have made so MANY of these bags, but I am making yet another one as a gift for a 4 year oldest Birthday. I am making it into a little purse by using D-rings and swivel hooks. QUESTION...should I increase the zipper tab size to be slightly wider if I am going to put the D-ring tabs in there? I do not want to mess this up.
Great tutorial! I quilted some fabric on soft&stable - can I just add some cork or kraftex to the bottom of the trimmed front and back for a different look?
Do you suggest laundering the front & back after quilting, but before any other steps are complete? Would it add texture, similar to when a quilt is laundered? (I used Soft & Stable as the interfacing, and have never worked with it before, so unsure.) Thanks!
The ByAnnie zippers are easy to cut. If you buy the long double zipper, you can make two bags with it. The ByAnnie website does have the shorter ones though. 😊
Hi ladies I have a question... I’ve seen a ton of zippers in garments, but have never cut one or seen over them like I’ve seen. In regards to kara’s reply how would you get/use the zipper pull for the second one?😬🤔 thank you❤️😀
@@rachelburgener819 Here’s the type of zipper I bought - www.fatquartershop.com/butter-cream-30-in-double-slide-handbag-zipper - when I was making a different bag. I slid one zipper pull to the side, sewed two lines a half inch apart in the middle to create a temporary stop, and used a rotary cutter to cut the zipper in half between my two sewn lines, giving me two 15” zippers. There’s also a way to buy the extra zipper pulls separately but I haven’t done that myself. The ByAnnie zippers are durable but easy to cut and sew. I just used a straight stitch on my home machine, back stitch at the start and end of each line, and my rotary cutter to cut it.
Unlike many other viewers, I don’t care for this tutorial. She spends a lot of time showing herself using clips to secure the pieces together. I’m not sure which sides of the fabric she is using and had to watch it repeatedly to understand. I do appreciate that she doesn’t make you watch her actually sewing the pieces together. I wish she had done that for the clipping as well.
When I sew across the teeth of the zipper, I get uneven sized stitches and find it difficult to sew in a straight line, Both of which kook unsightly. Any tips, please?
I love the zipper tab tip. Makes a perfect join. Thanks ❤

Love this love the bags and also really love the boxing technique! Far more accurate than just using a ruler and marking and sewing!
Hi Kathy
I can’t believe how easy this was to make. Thank you for the video. My bag came out so nice, it looks store bought. I love it!

Such a great tutorial!. Thank you
Super cute
Hi Julie
Thankyou, wonderful teacher..subscribed. How many inches is the fabric..I'm just using plain fabric the first time, not the squares yet.
great explanation thank you so much !! fantastic :-) I will try it...
Hello, how are you doing?
Love it 😍 the zipper bag
Gorgeous!!
Awesome tutorial! Thank you so much!
Awesome. Just what I was looking for.
Is the lining loose inside the bag? Very nice bag ! Thank you for sharing.

Sounds like an idea to me❤️😀
Hi, how are you doing my friend
Could you please tell me the size of the fabric...I'm practicing first without the squares..thankyou
Great tutorial thank you! 🐿
Adorable! Instead of sew basting the zipper I glue it.
This is the best tutorial ever for zippered bags. The lining and squaring the bottoms make a professional product to give as gifts.
Do you suggest laundering the front & back after quilting, but before any other steps are complete? Would it add texture, similar to when a quilt is laundered? (I used Soft & Stable as the interfacing, and have never worked with it before, so unsure.) Thanks!
Hello Lisa
Thank you 😊
You said you use the zippers byannie and we would need at least a 9". Where did you find yours? I can't find them shorter than 24". Thanks 💐

In TH-cam I searched "by annie zippers" and watched that. Hopefully it makes more sense to you. It's new to me too.

Hello, how are you doing Debby
I wish the tutorial would include seeing the actual sewing of the bag.
Great video but, doing two different bags was quite confusing.
Hi Kelley, how are you doing?
