There are a lot of weirdos that I work with since Amazon hires anyone for the warehouse. I'm just nice to everyone and try to keep to myself. You don't know who youre working with...
As an Amazon worker, how these people record inside the warehouse is beyond me. And keep their jobs at that… that’s the biggest rule there. Is not having a phone out on the floor.
Same at our site well in fact it’s relaxed. You can have your phone on you. You can check it minimally. Like check the time put it back away. But you shouldn’t be on it in a dangerous way ie making phone calls while picking. If you get an alert and want to get your phone out to check they’re gonna let it slide mostly. And if you need to take a call it’s fine but they want you to leave the warehouse floor to do it. However it’s strictly against company policy to record inside the warehouse. If they suspect it they are allowed to take our phones and go through our photo album. If you refuse them to check it you’re gonna be dismissed. If they check it and there are photos of the inside of the warehouse same fate.
Working at a delivery station was among one of the easiest jobs I had, but the stowing was killer, especially when you had to pick up after the people who weren't keeping up the pace. Other than that, I loved how predictable and flexible it can be with so much VTO in case you ever wanted to call off for a day... or even a whole week.

Which I’m certain the safety shoes are what’s causing the problem, because when I could wear normal shoes in the past, I was perfectly fine. Taking extra shifts for double pay and everything.
For any warehouse worker come with comfortable shoes/boots with impact resist , change your soles, comfy socks. The concrete is unforgiving on your feet and back
I think that's the first Outbound/Driver I've ever heard or seen say that haha. At my DS 90% of the drivers feel entitled and think the AA's are beneath them and complain if they have to walk one step further to get their cart. I'd venture to guess that most of those drivers have no idea what all has been done to get their route staged
Day shifts are much better for your health. I stopped night shift for that reason. You start having health problems being up only at night and sleeping during sunlight hours.

Especially Ship Dock if you want to lose weight. Work at Amazon Fulfillment Center. An FYI if you get shoes from Zappos and you wear a size 8 wide width please go up a size bigger. Your toes and your feet will be killing you. 10-hour shifts I felt like I didn't have a social life I could have made one but I didn't have one in my sleep and was off please eat and sleep.

@@vqdiaz5386 comparing a 5 hour shift that is a collab effort with no rates tracked and a solo 10-12 hour shift where your rates can determine your job security (and doesn't matter if you make rate because the systems automatically give write ups to the lower 15th percent so your compared to every single person in your department.) Yeah the extra labor is worth the less stress.
Must be a small site. Our DS is hell. The packages come down the belt fast like everyday is peak season and the robot machines that we have now, really never stops. It wasn't fun at all, but I moved up quickly (only a year in) with my work ethic and now L3 Driver Trainer in the OTR department. Glad I don't have to do overnight again, if I did, I would go back to driving ASAP...

This video makes it look chill. Trust me when there is a constant stream of packages coming to your aisles it is pretty tough. No way you can take a bathroom break unless someone covers you.
Man, you guys got it easy, you need to come to DVA2, they NEVER finish sort or pick and stage, so many packages, OVs and XLs. We have bags piled up like castle blocks in the overflow. Please do tell, where is this station?
Keep it simple. Pick a job you can see yourself doing from looking at job activities, learn the skills needed for the job, and if you can learn this without needing to go to university then do this as you can learn everything online. But some require uni like med school. Pick something high in demand in your area of residence, learn the skills, choose 2 jobs related to skills be great at these specific jobs. Rather then 10 jobs you can be ok and make it harder for you to get a job because you're not being in depth.
Some people have easy jobs and still complain. I would like to see these people apply for a grocery distribution center as an order selector. Where you don't go home until the job is complete. Working in cold temp for 12-15+ hr/day lifting heavy cases of meats

It depends on how many packages there are, there are some stations that do not receive many. Where I work there is a crazy amount of packages, it would not be possible to have 7 racks.

In my warehouse, we have a stand-up. Going over safety,the volume of packages and any other necessary information we need. Then we will do routine stretches. After that, we'll look on the board for our picture and what we'll be doing for that night.

Delivery station sucks. I liked the soft center. That shit was easy. At delivery station, getting around 70/80k was the norm. It was terrible.

No, You just look for the numbers on that box that matches your section. Then you put it on the buffer and then its sorted into bags for delivery.
