    Thanks for the video. That was great advice for hosts to think preemptively about your guest's possible pain points and be prepared to remedy those issues!

      Thank you! We appreciate that! We think the best problems are ones we already solved! But even then, we joke that every time, the guests seem to lose or not find the lighters for the fire. 😅 We need to tape it to a giant stick or something 😂

    Good tips! I'm about to go live so taking in all of the info I can. I'm currently trying to find good cleaners in my area, but my challenge is I live about 45 minutes away so unfortunately will probably run into issues with that situation.

      It’s not easy to find good and reliable cleaners but they are out there. What kind of Airbnb/glamping set up do you have? And where are you located?

    Love your video guys! very helpful and funny with the clips. My wife and I also want to start our own glamping business, and to live on the property as well, but distance from the rental structures for privacy. We are looking to move from CT to have this new lifestyle hopefully in AZ. I also had this idea many years ago when we rented from a luxury community apartments that had their own entertainment area for the renters and their guest to enjoy it. I will also add that to my glamping site. I been fascinated always in having to have on the site an outdoor rope obstacle course for guest. Sounds fun! I hope I do this one day.

    • @buildfixflip
      @buildfixflip  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Man that sounds like an awesome idea. We left AZ for TN to build this business and it has been a very rewarding way to make a living. I love building stuff, but it truly surprised me how good it feels when somebody comes and spends their limited vacation days at our property and they are so thankful about it. That has become a really awesome part of being a host that I had no idea it would play out like that.

    The things you provide like firewood & lighters do you charge for that?

    What percentage would you say write a review?

    If you have gotten a bad review is there any way you would try the get that reversed? For example, send them a gift basket.

    Do you guys have insurance in case somebody gets hurt?

    Do you pay your cleaners one flat fee or by the hr? Also how much do you pay your cleaner?

    • @buildfixflip
      @buildfixflip  ปีที่แล้ว

      hey Elijah.
      Pretty much everybody leaves us a review. Very few people havent left us one.
      REviews cannot be removed once they are in. Unless they are lying or complaining about something that it totally not related to your stay or if its innapropiate.
      Yes we carry insurance but thats still a gray area that I need to do more research into to make sure we are protected correctly so I dont have good advice there yet.
      Cleaners get paid per cleaning a flat fee. somtimes it takes them 20 minutes because there is 2 of them. Sometimes it takes them longer if the guests made a littel more mess than usual.
      Seems like you have a stay yourself and you are looking deep into it?

      We bought it at Lowes. Since we are in a rural area most hardware stores here have them. Maybe look for a tractor supply if you regular lowes and HD don’t have them in stock

  • @AJortiz1984
    @AJortiz1984 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you charge for firewood? or it's included in the stay?

    • @buildfixflip
      @buildfixflip  ปีที่แล้ว

      at the begnning we didnt and people were abusing it! I would come to the proeprty and full stacks of firewood were gone. So we implemented an honor system were poeple can buy a basket or a wheel barrow from the pile. They can load it up themselves and pay electronically. We still sell it a bit cheaper than buying from the store, and huge convenience factor of not getting your own car dirty with fire wood.

    Hi, we are in the process of buying some land to start a glamping business. Can you give us a clue as to how many bookings to expect in the first 12 months? thank you, Paul and Gemma

    • @buildfixflip
      @buildfixflip  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a great question. And a really tough question to answer. That can be dependent on where you are and the seasonality, how nice you make everything, your photography and how well you showcase your property, how well you clean and manage the stays, the reviews, etc. etc. What I would suggest is to look at what you would believe would be competitors in your area, of the same size and guest count, look, etc. on Airbnb, VRBO and look at their calendar and how booked out they are to get an idea of the revenue you could bring in. Hope that helps. Maybe we could do a video on it!
