- The Diamond Tetra has an unique look and is an easy to keep larger tetra for the planted aquarium. You may even start a little breeding colony..

+1 to the Diamond Tetra. They look best in a planted tank.
Thanks for producing & sharing this vid' 🙂
A local shop has them on sale' this wk.
Wonder how well some young'uns would do in a community tank with three surviving 3yr. old male Congos . A female (with a dropped jaw) passed away last wk. *-)
Should be fine with Congos.
I love your sign-off. I'm a sucker for alliteration.
Thanks!
I love the Diamond Tetra 👍👍👍
I just added four diamond tetras to my 20g long...I love them!!..they're very active with my ottos, 5 male guppies, and a bolivian ram
Enjoy them!
Dis lekker om n suid afrikaanse accent op n vis video te he. Daai diamond tetras is mooi
Dankie man!
Love these fish, how old are they in adult form?
I'd say around a year.
I tried my 7 diamonds with 2 smaller angelfish and it didn't work. They started to bite their fins. After we seperated the angels, and added some emperor tetras in the mix, it worked perfectly. I would also avoid putting them with nanofish. All in all, a very hardy fish, will breed, and as you say needs time to shine.
Good to know. Mine were fine with the angels. Emperor Tetras are great fish also, mine breed like rabbits.
Awesome 😊
I think my diamond tetras killed a golden wonder killifish I had, they can be a bit aggressive compared to other tetras. The males are also territorial so they will fight a bit
Mine go into some cycles probably related to their breeding. 2-3 months of peace, and than a few weeks of crazyness 😅. But aside from some torn fins, all ends up ok. Recently, we added 3 platy fish, and it started bad. Diamonds, and especially females were brutal. Luckily, the next day things calmed down.
Sorry about your Angelfish. I have 9 Diamonds in with 2 Angels but it is a 200L tank. They are doing well and the Diamonds spawn all the time. The tank is heavyily planted.
I started liking these but never seen any in Durban.
Maybe try online? Perhaps Aqua Empire may have, not sure.
Can these be kept with cherry shrimp?
I wouldn't do that. Biggish tetra, most probably will eat them.
Thanks Droeks, where in SA can I buy these?
I saw some in Pet World XXL Cape Gate and Brackenfell Pets occasionally has some.
How many could i put in 41g with punctatus cory and bumblebee catfish?
Depending on your stocking level of the other fish about 6, maybe 8 would be a good number.
@@droeksonfishkeeping i ve finally seen them, i thought they were at the size of a cardinal or blackskirt tetra, instead i gonna pick the serpae tetras
How big do they get?
Up to about just under 7cm, 2.5 inches.
