    Red and Blue wheel nuts are because they are different threads, as on most race cars one side is Left hand thread, this prevents the wheel nuts from coming lose. having worked for Mclaren I have been in the real LM, on a mile long test track we went from 0 to 160 mph back to 0!!!! the noise inside was very very loud. ear defenders were needed, but what a ride... :-)

    • @HandsOnDiecast
      @HandsOnDiecast  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We're super envious! Yeah we can imagine the noise to be intoxicating and deafening. So how many McLaren models do you have?

    • @shirleyboy8859
      @shirleyboy8859 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HandsOnDiecast I have about 20.... but mainly F1 cars, :-) We had to buy all the models as Mclaren never gave much away!!!

    The coloured center locks on the wheels are there for racing. When they have to change tires in the pits, they know where which tire go where

      Oh cool, thanks. Mystery solved!

    • @grimh2
      @grimh2 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the color is to separate left and right hand thread not because they are for "racing" lmao

    Thats a carbon fiber air intake. The intake manifold is under it at top of engine. Technically these have exhaust headers due to their construction. No exhaust manifolds for this high end beauty. Good video thanks.

  • @shirleyboy8859
    @shirleyboy8859 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Carbon tubes on top of the engine are the air intakes....

    Fun fact: I used to have a Chinese-made McLaren F1 stereo while its tyres are the speakers LOL

    I have the TSM McLaren F1 LM and I honestly believe it's the BEST 1/18 Scale McLaren. The details are simply better than the AutoArt version in almost every way. Particular the rear exhaust area, the interior and the front grills. ABSOLUTELY IMMACULATE. The ONLY downside is the side luggage area doesn't open, but no big miss. Hope this helped anyone debating between the two!

    • @HandsOnDiecast
      @HandsOnDiecast  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh we've not seen the TSM version before, but this makes us want to see one IRL.

      Tsm doesn’t have the fit and finish of the autoart signature…. Not to mention the racing variants have accuracy issues, incorrect brakes no flares and incorrect colour

      @@TheWretchedWorld Yeah I got the TSM and it's not perfect but for the price I think it's great.

    thanks for the great video, this is exactly what I needed to see. just ordered one. I checked out some pictures of the rear of the real car, and it seems like the panel around the exhaust tips is actually a carbon fiber panel, not mesh like on the road version. Also, the exhaust tips are supposed to be black I think. anyway, thanks again!

    For your first video, guys, this is fantastic. When I saw it in my recommendations I taught yeah... another guy or guys that pretend to do a review but do nothing else than being amazed for 20 minutes of how "really cool" or "really nice" the car is, without telling anything technical. I really like how you two interact with each other, both of you having his personal yet objective opinion. Also, the filming angles are great, along with the way that you catched the car details on camera. I could really see what you are talking about 😄 The single thing that I would recommend you, but this is my personal perspective, I don't know if others would agree with me, is that you document yourselves a little bit better about the car that you're presenting, since as you said, these models should mirror the real cars perfectly. I haven't seen your newer videos yet, but I will surely do, as I'm very curious of how you've evolved. Maybe you'll have sometime the opportunity to present real cars, who knows... 😁 All in all, very nice work guys, keep it up! I would give you a strong 9 out of 10! 😄 So shame that you have only 697 subscribers after 3 years...

      Hey, thank you so much for the comment and advice! It means alot to us to know that you're enjoying our content! We unfortunately have very limited time to do these vids, hence the long lead-time between each release. The point about comparisons to real cars is interesting; we'll have a think about it! This channel is just a hobby for us; we've done zero marketing for it. Still, we're happy for our viewers to spread the love to other diecast fanatics! :)

    The first model company which came out with this exact model was 'UT models' which latter became part of the AutoArt family.

    Love the model an love the way you guys analyze the details. However, what mesh are you talking about next to the rear exhaust? I do not see any mesh on the real car, please edit :) ( 1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZcYRNZR9-IA/UfiCyaWg3nI/AAAAAAAAApI/a6OcD_tCQdY/s640/IMG_2379.JPG )
    Also, this model has working suspension.

      Glad you're enjoying our vids! I think we were talking about the mesh below the rear spoiler that allows you to peek in and see the exhaust manifolds.
