- The ALL NEW AMG A35 is here and Mercedes wants the performance enthusiasts to be happy. Under the hood is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 engine that is producing 302HP, mated to an 8-speed DCT transmission and power getting to the ground through the 4matic AWD system. On the outside you will find subtle styling cues letting you know that this is an AMG product. On the inside there is a well laid out cabin and a steering wheel taken off of a Formula 1 race car. Is the NEW 2020 Mercedes AMG A35 a REAL performance sedan?

@@maryrobinson4131 it’s a good buy.. I had the new a-class, currently drive the new cla (this exact spec), and now have one of these coming in about a month.

I own an A35. I've had it for over 2 months. I love the handling, throttle, and overall design of a sleeper sports car.
$56k is a lot for an A35. My dealer has like 5-6 cars with barely any options, which is what I got. MSRP with no options sets you back 45k territory, and the infotainment system comes standard with apple car play/android auto.
When comparing this car with a bmw m240i or an Audi S3, this car just blows the other two out the water.

Hey, Im about to get an A35. Just wondering if you gotten the amg ride control sport suspension option or would you recommend of getting it?
But why would you get this instead of a Golf R? 🤔 the R comes with all of the advanced tech standard, same 0-60 times, AWD, and is much cheaper. Adding the standard Golf R tech to this runs you $60k. I understand the A35 has a nicer interior, but I don’t see that interior being worth a $20k difference

I drove one of these (A220 not the AMG version) recently as a loaner while my car was being serviced. I was very impressed with the styling and overall quality of the ride and handling of this baby Benz!

These are extremely fun to drive; very nimble. With the upgraded suspension, the handling is top notch.
Great work man! Its not easy to churn out good content with this high frequency. I like the fact that you focus more on real world street use of these cars because that is where people will be driving them most of the time.
It would be great if you could conclude your videos with probably a score for these cars in areas such as luxury, performance etc and maybe some comparison of same class cars to help us viewers get a good understanding of how these cars stack up. Cheers!

I'm not a fan of Mercedes, however I really like how the turbo is upfront and extremely easy to access and upgrade, if need be. I use to have a 2006 Mazda Speed 6 and that turbo was basically unreachable. Awesome video as usual.

Have a C300 now and love it, but trying to figure out an empty nest car for next year. This will be high in my list to check out. I live in a rural area with a lot of twisty back roads, so small, nimble and zippy sounds great.

another great entertaining review Joe, i do like the A series, cabin/tech is the best of the German brands. GLA model will be good seller in US.
Maybe off topic, but Mercedes always has the most beautiful dealerships. Just really nicely done architecturally. Plus, beautiful car as usual.

Great review Joe. Love the look and feel of the vehicle and style. Just not feeling the infotainment iPad style look but overall I have to say Mercedes-Benz has definitely raised the bar with this vehicle.
How would you compare this to the CLA35? Does it feel the exact same just look different, being it has the same specs.

Nice design and MB is killing it with the interior. i am not a fan of the wheels at all. Car seemed under-tired as well. The car seemed slow but your reaction says otherwise. Maybe it was just me. Nice work Joe!!

Very sharp! Normally I wouldn’t like a 4 cylinder turbo, especially in an AMG, but at this price I think it’s ok. The front AMG badge could be larger. Overall I give it 4 out of 5 ⭐️’s. Five ⭐️’s for you Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

While my people were getting their c300 fixed, they got loaned this car, looks a little different like the rims (they still had the amg logo) but despite that I took it for a spin and it was pretty nice, shifts quick, sounds good, but tbh I feel like I heard the turbo in the c300 more so, but that’s just personal preference, for what it was it’s respectable

Weirdly enough the A35 was already discontinued in the US, while Canada still sells both the sedan and hatch variants of the A35
Nice little vehicle. It has lots of options. Not sure how I feel about the two 10.5 inch screens. At $56k you’re paying a premium for owning a Mercedes AMG. Great review once again Joe!!! Thanks for bringing these vehicles to our attention. 👍

Hey Raiti, I would be really curious to see how many twinkies fit in the glove box of a 2020 CLA 45 if you catch my drift. haha
Raiti you need to collaborate with a car company (most likely Nissan with the road they've been going down). I would call it the Nissan ZONK. it will just be a combination of prior zonks all in one vehicle. You can like, do extensive testing on the nurburgring to gauge things like how to make a cupholder just shallow enough so your cup spills, or where to position the a pillar so it's simultaneously blocks the sun and your view at the same time.

Pleasantly surprised by this car. For an entry level AMG, this car achieved perfect balance of power and interior. Mercedes definitely steped up the game. Thanks Joe for bring us this car because almost nobody care about this car.
There is a lot of gloss black on the dash and centre console. However, Mercedes is smart and they don't use gloss black on anything you will be touching.

I think this would be a little more worth it if they would have put the GLA45 engine in it (don't know why they didn't). It's a decent car but I think I would rather have a used GLA45 over this, unless like others have said and they would give us the hatch version. Great job as always Joe
