WE got the A35 as a sedan
Yea they gave us a boring Sedan version instead of the cool Hatch. Just like we got the Audi RS3, but not the cool Hatachback verison.
We did get the GLA AMG hatch though

@YourTypical Asian As a millennial, I'm doing my part. My wife and I both have hatchbacks. We have never owned a crossover, only sedans and hatches. A lot of my coworkers of similar age have sedans, and very few have crossovers.

Straight Pipes is the most Canadian channel ever, asking us to subscribe to other peoples' channels to help them hit milestones.
This is the only modern Mercedes I like. The taillights look blobby, but overall, not too bad. I do LOVE where Mercedes puts the disable button for the auto engine start-stop feature: immediately below the ignition. That is the perfect spot for that.

Been a sub since 400K and what I always enjoy is the genuine verbal banter back and forth. Makes me LOL every episode.
I purchased the CLA 35 amg back in October preorder 2019... finally got it 2020 March 9th.. I’m happy with it, fits my 3 kids and gas mileage is great is comfort.. came out to $63,000 Canadian.. great car overall.. anyone looking at this car, I’d look into the 45.. that extra 80HP I wish I had lol... great review guys! Keep it up! 🍻

What a great all around hot hatch, especially with the aero kit. DCT it’s quick and the sounds are great, looks great outside and inside.

Before I purchased the 2017 Focus RS, I looked at this model AMG. It is truly an engineering gem with the power the pushed out of this 4cyl engine. It sounds great! Interior is really nice to boot.

Mercedes are killing it in the hatch market, but ofc the A45s is the best! Also in addition if u like the golf r colors so much Mercedes started something where you can paint the car the same color as like another brand or something

He's the opposite of mainstream where is these guys are mostly mainstream. Nothing wrong with either of them, just 2 mostly different audiences.

I got the impression he was burned out from doing too many videos with plus reviews of new cars. He then concentrated only on special new cars. Hired Zack, started his podcast and finally got married.
Can't wait for the Mazda 3 2.5 Turbo coming soon. Though not a 'hot' hatch per say, it's looking good. Good chance I'll be trading in my current 3 for the new turbo. After I watch your review of it, of course!
Mazda 3 looks better and will cost a fair bit less than this and the turbo the NA gets will not be too far off this MB
I’m curiously awaiting this car too. I had previously owned a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 and had kept hoping for awd with the 2.5 turbo. I own a Stinger GT2 now but would consider giving this a drive as it’s considerably cheaper.

Love ur videos guys. I’m very surprised that Canada & USA not get the A45 S. so much more power. It’s super fast. Considering the population in USA etc, they’d sell plenty of them. And they have great grip via the AWD that is standard. I’m in Australia and we get a big range of AMG. Both the A35 & A45 S r sold here and r very popular. Things like the Golf Gti & Golf R hatch r super popular here.

Cant compare the old (mk 8.5) Golf R to the high tech A35.
WinkelHoof says the guy who doesn’t know it’s mk7.5... Have you been in one? It’s only 2 years old, Audi digital dashboard, the differences with the A35 is not much.
@@payasofeo69 its a huge difference. The Interior of the golf is basic af. The screen is dated, the materials are bad, and there's no special feeling. This mercedes Interior is at least 3 steps ahead.
I would probably get the Golf R over the A35 and pocket the difference. There is differently a class difference between these two so I don't know if they are necessarily competing, the price difference is substantial. I think cars would be considered in competition if the price was within maybe 5 grand max. There isn't much performance wise that separates this vs. the R so unless you really are looking for that next level luxury and the badge, it's too much of a premium IMHO. The A45 AMG however, now that is a huge leap in every aspect. Then again, I can only imagine how much more expensive that is.
It is definitely too expensive if performance is your priority. A loaded S3 with fancy paint is actually 2-3 grand cheaper than this and that A35 is still missing a few options. At that point you're about 5 grand away from an RS3. They said it's faster than the Golf R after launching it but there's almost no difference.
@@RicHSAD2 Yes it's like a few tenths difference? Besides, there are tons of tuning options for the Golf R if you are interested in more power.
The Smoking Tire 2 camera angles is the best on TH-cam. Looks & feels crazy on a 65in TV.

@TheStraightPipes I spec'd one out just for fun after reviewing this -- well the sedan anyhow as the hatch still isn't up on the US site -- It's a tempting option but for that kind of money I could definitely buy a pre-owned Audi and be just as happy (though weary of constant trips to the shop).

I bought the GLA 45 AMG based on the review they did on it because they looked like they were having a lot of fun. the A35 seems just as fun to drive but with updated infotainment.
