    I have a Klim Latitude Misano jacket that I bought 6 or 7 years ago. It is my go-to do-all Adventure jacket. After so many years and miles it is starting to show its age. I like this MSR stuff, especially considering the price of the better Klim gear. But one feature that I greatly appreciate on my Misano are the pit zips. They don’t put them in the lower spec Klim lines, or in any of the MSR gear either.
    I also have a couple of Aerostich jackets (Darian and Falstaff) and both of them have the pit zips too. They help you stay cool when the temps get up there without resorting to inferior protection of mesh gear, and also can be opened in light rain in warm weather.

    the vents on the jacket, are some of the best ive ever experienced.. is still have a mesh jacket for summer, but i would use this is much warmer weather than i had anticipated

      I agree, the jacket breathes and vents so well I found it comfortable to the low 80s as long as you're moving. Thanks for watching

    Nice review! Wish it had inner thermal liner and chest protector, larger hip pads as well. Other than that, it's great quality.

    Cool new entry, ive always enjoyed klim gear but the top end suits are unaffordable. Went the mosko route but for a full suit this might be the ticket. Great review, thanks.

    Update, the number one complaint on the jacket is having the arm adjuster at the elbow which prevents full range of motion.. This has been resolved, they moved it to the forearm area.

      Good to know. Its positive to hear they are taking critiques and continuing to make a even better product.

    My one big issue is that none of the manufacturers have belt loops. I would so much rather have an actual belt than the stupid waist velcro. Only Mosko Moto does this and it's a major factor in their favor for me. Otherwise MSR looks like a far better value than Klim and Touratech, which have really gotten out of hand with their pricing, IMO.

    • @3_AM
      @3_AM  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      A belt would not be a bad idea, although the velcro works for me. About a year later with this gear, I'm still pleased with it. Thanks for watching.

    Thanks for the review - I wasn't aware MSR even had ADV gear and this stuff looks great especially for the cost👍👍
    I do love the klim gear I have but I only buy it when it's on sale.😂
    Off topic: I'm a CT native and have ridden street & off-road for most of my life but just recently picked up my first ADV bike (2020 1290 SAR). Unfortunately nobody in my riding circle has an ADV bike and was hoping maybe you guys could give me some tips on areas to ride or even show me around. I suffer from MBS and I'm always down for a ride on or off road, let me know!! ✌️
    PS: more 1290 videos please!! 😂

    • @3_AM
      @3_AM  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We'll keep the adv footage coming its still all new to us as well. Next KTM video will be my graphic install which is currently under way! You'll just have to let your riding buddies take the KTM for a spin, they'll be hooked. For us a lot of state parks have dirt roads or just knowing the area. Look into the "puppy dog trail" that's 320 miles from mass straight north through VT. Ride on.

      Yeah that's true, this thing is impressive! I'm pretty stoked and can't wait to rack more miles on it myself. No doubt, I have read about all that stuff and will be doing as much as I can along with the BDR, just hoping to not do it all solo 😂. Hopefully I will be able to influence some more people to join the ADV club 😅.

    Also, maybe see you guys at DirtDaze this year. I'm either on a Desert X or a retro looking KTM 500. Last year was nice once the rain finally stopped haha.

    I've been using the MSR Voyager pants, not as high level as the Explorer gear but its been working well. When temps are up I switch to an armored mesh shirt... I'm considering the Explorer jacket for next season, it would be nice to have a full waterproof riding outfit that I can easily adjust for temperature. Thanks for the review

    If someone would have told me buying a motorcycle is only half the cost i might not have bothered. Picked up a BN KLR650 22’ for 7400$ and now i need 3500$ in gear…. Not even counting the panniers, racks, plates and stuff like GPS and phone mounts… oh man! Time for another job then no time to ride.

    • @3_AM
      @3_AM  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You're not wrong, its an expensive addiction. But, there are worse things! It takes time to acquire all kinds of gear, but it's worth it.

    • @briangc1972
      @briangc1972 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It pays to shop, most brands are grossly over priced, but there are many low cost options if you are willing to hunt for them. I bought all my panniers and gear (helmets, 3 jackets, pants, etc) for under $2500. There is a $100 Apple Play display that uses your phone's GPS and mapping/ directions. No need to buy a dedicated GPS especially since the phone apps work better.
