  • Tune in as Tony goes over what it's like owning his (almost) 100,000 mile victory. Over the years his bike has seen it all. For The 3 Amigos our Victorys are the bikes that started the addiction and turned us into riders.

    I agree. I bought my 2009 Vision in 2018 for $5,500 with about 23k miles on it. Outside of normal maintenance I've had ZERO problems so far. It's just a great bike.

    Nice video! Sorry to hear that you spent all that effort searching for a bad wheel bearing. My 08 vision has about 85k miles and runs like a top. Still goes to skills courses and track days with me. Parts are still available as needed but so far I've only ever needed wear parts and one clutch slave cylinder. 😎👍

    Just bought my 3rd Victory (Vision 2011 8-Ball) over the past 13 years. I've literally had 2 problems between all 3, 1 clutch cable and 1 start switch. @ 66, I'ma ride this thing into the sunset and beyond. It's just that good...

    I purchased my 03 V92C back in 06. Long story short, my oldest son now owns it. That bike has around 130,000 miles. Other than a fuel pump, coils and wires, thar engine/trans has had NOTHINGdone to it. I put most of the miles on it, and was absolutely relentless to it. It's been a great bike!!!

    If victory was still in business, and had better aftermarket support, id 100% buy another. Left my judge sitting in a shed for a few years, new oil, sea foam, fresh gas and airfilter, and obviously a jump start, fired right up, shot out a few flames and some smoke but settled down very very quickly.

    I also agree, I bought a 2010 Victory Cross Country 3 weeks ago & hope to have ot in the wind by the end of the week. I rescued this old girl from a guy who let it set outside last winter, & our Ut. winter was a bad one. So I've been going over everything & making sure she's 100% before it hits the road. Paid $6000, with 34000 miles, so don't feel I got hurt!

    You're making me feel guilty 😶 ... I got my XC to 80k miles, but after pulling the jugs to replace a blown base gasket, it developed another issue with the front injector, that left me stranded up in MA. I just didn't have it in me to crack that frame and dig in there again. So after 10years, 80k and whole lot of memories. I sold it to a Victory collector in Canada so it could continue to have a good life

    I just purchased a 2014 Vision with 18,000 miles. In the beginning, the rear brake would go right to the floor. I looked at 5 bikes and they all did that. Bleeding the rear brake link circuit to the front calipers took care of that. One question…do you find that the front brakes are weak? I have several bikes that have much stronger front brakes (ST1300 and Concours 1400). Those bikes don’t weigh as much and do have linked brakes. Without the rear circuit, the fronts feel pretty weak. The discs are huge and twin piston calipers can have plenty of power.

    • @3_AM
      @3_AM  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t feel that the front brakes on mine are weak and I do have over 90 K on my rotors and I am due to install new ones also, mine had the same problem a year ago with the rear brake pedal bleeding it fixed it

    • @alanhassall
      @alanhassall หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@3_AM Perhaps it is because I come from a Kawasaki Concours with four piston radial calipers and master cylinder and linked brakes that weighs under 700 pounds. I have several other lighter bikes with good brakes. There is only so much that can be done to combat physics in the end. Without a slick surface, I doubt that I could lock the front wheel. If I somehow surprised myself, the ABS would come into play. Without the rear brake, the bike was quite scary to try to stop. With 18,000 miles, maybe it has glazed pads or they are just worn out. The lever is firm. I test rode two other Visions and the brakes on this one were very similar to those two. The brake pedal on the five that I looked at all went to the floor without any resistance. Fortunately, it isn't too difficult to bleed the front circuit and get it fixed.

    Cool video. Wow. Forks, bearings...even a motor, etc? My CVO Electra with a 110 Screamin Eagle in it has over 100,000 miles on it and no such issues, and it's no tractor. The motor has never been opened. Oil, brakes, tires, belt, flush hydraulics, all normal maintenance. I did put a tranny in it, but that was my fault. I rode it for 6 months with a bad bearing and tore up the tranny. But it was still rideable even with the tranny all tore up. It has never been on a trailer, but it has a hydraulic clutch, so no cable to break. I'm sorry, but the bike does not have 100K on it if you put a new motor in it. And you had all that trouble getting the bike to track straight? So much frustration for four years that you haven't been riding it? And after all this you go on about the reliability? One of my best friends recently totaled his Street Glide with 340K on it, the motor had never been opened. Not kidding. How can you claim you will get "another" 100K out of it when you already replaced the motor? Just curious. They are great bikes, but your story is a little wonky regarding reliability and mileage. I am glad you like your bike.

    • @3_AM
      @3_AM  หลายเดือนก่อน

      There was nothing wrong with the engine that I replaced. I just wanted the fresh engine with the motor work done to it. My old engine will still go back in and run perfectly fine if I ever need it to.

      It seems the wanted to avoid the internal competition with owning Indian. Otherwise, as much as their owners love them, the numbers sold were relatively weak. There was a book published that covers the history of Victory and their demise. Thanks for watching !
