    Are these guys out of their fucking minds? First Jim sterling, 100 steam users and now valve? Some people are going to spend the rest of their lives in jail if they keep this going on.

      Also, what they arent realizing is taking assets from other games and using them in their own games is known as theft and you could wind up in prison for a good, long while if caught and they apparently have been caught enough times to warrant that.

      @LostRelicGames 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nobody would ever go to prison for asset ripping. But yeah, DH sucks balls

      My best guess is that they're hoping to make money off of valve via BS lawsuits. I hope it backfires and they go homeless for being so fucking stupid and greedy

      If they just took jim sterlings criticism and moved on, like a responsible adult. This huge mess would've been avoided.

      Yeah I totally agree. Instead of doing what you said, they got so asshurt over it and now they got their asses kicked off of Steam because of their own stupidity.

    I have to laugh how he says his "family's income is threatened" lol sounds like what Derek Smart says thing is to have a income you have to actually makes sales and I can for one second believe that anybody who bought this mans garbage on steam didn't refund it 5 minutes later because like Derek Smart's stuff you'd have to be seriously stupid to call this nonsense "games".

    Don't know what country they filed the lawsuit but here in the states if you bring a frivolous lawsuit to a court the judge will not only dismiss your suit but force you to compensate the defendants' legal fees from their lawyers. This is only going to make them worse off financially. . . sad part is, this whole mess wouldn't have happened if they had just put all that effort into making good games. They chose to be dumb-butts and now they are only digging themselves a financial grave.

      They themselves really don't know what they're doing. Representing themselves in court, kick-starting their own legal support for their own lawsuit... If you listen to the 'interview' with Sterling last year, it's extremely cringe worthy. Nevermind incompetent developers, they're incompetent humans who can't hold a basic discussion. That interview with Sterling is more than enough proof of that. And they asked for that also. Suing the entire Steam community (in essence, that's what they're doing) is malicious to the nth degree, suing Valve is plain suicide.

    TECHNICALLY, just on a technicality of this lawsuit having been made public knowledge and those court documents becoming public domain, TECHNICALLY, people do now know the area where the Romine brothers and their family are situated, but I highly doubt people are going to go looking for them. But they're the ones that filed those court papers, not our fault for making them public domain.

    Sadly they can sue anyone that does libel in court, mean response can be sued if you have the money and the know how to actually do it, but at the price they are looking at $18m not even going to happen in my country libel case starts at 200$ and will only reach a max of 1000$ at most they may only get 100k$ but not 18m$ minus the legal fees and court appearance they would make 50k usd if and the big IF they win if not thay would lose -50k usd I'm rounding everything off

  • @Dinscurge

    but if its as they say, they repeatedly tell steam about threats and stuff and valve does nothing, and they have no other recourse to block or ban them, what exactly are they to do? say, someone tells them to kill them selves so they don't have to kill them or whatever in a review that shows up in the steam store, if they cant moderate those reviews, and they have told valve, and valve replies 'get rekt' to their report. if there are actual threats, then valve is sorta in the wrong. now if you're just talking people saying the game sucks whatever get rekt, but if there is threats against their person then that's exactly the kind of reviews/comments that should be deleted/moderated

    Dumb question, up until now I thought u weren't able to sue a company for wrongly removing ur content. If they can sue steam for that then why the living **** do we not sue TH-cam for their copyright system

    • @Etheoma
      @Etheoma 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can try and sue anyone for any reason but it doesn't mean it's going to work or not get thrown out.

    • @rkraiem100
      @rkraiem100 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Etheoma then why has none of the bigger youtubers tried to sue youtube for thier ****y system. Personally if my channel was taken down cus of their stinkin algorith i would sue them

    • @Etheoma
      @Etheoma 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      rkraiem100 Because it would be a waste of time and money because youtube has the right to stop serving content for any reason they like, same for steam.
      As said this will almost certainly be thrown out before it even gets to court. It would be much like Tecos stopping selling nestle products because they were suing there customers for leaving bad reviews on Tesco's website.
      They completely have that right, I'm fairly certain a business can stop doing business even for such reasons as race religion or gender of there CEO or what ever.
      Because the civil rights act does not apply between corporate entities, only individuals.

    • @rkraiem100
      @rkraiem100 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Etheoma well i guess that explains it. is there any legal recourse some1 can take? youtube is doing it to enforce the law but by doing it the way they are doing it they are taking the law into their own hands. I would think (and hope) that there is a distinction in that regard between taking down content because of a company policy vs the law itself

    • @Etheoma
      @Etheoma 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      rkraiem100 The digital millennium copyright act gave the power of corporations to do that, basically making any potential offenders guilty until proven innocent.
      So no considering there using the DMCA which is a law you would have no hope. Even before that as said a company that owns the service your using to serve your content is completely within it's right to stop serving your content for any reason.
      There is no recourse and that terms an services basically says the same thing. And even if the terms and services didn't as I said it is much like a company no longer wanting to sell another companies products they don't have to have a reason.
