Its usually called " the dump " where you 'dump' stuff . The log wall is the best wall ever , I wouldn't even change it . Sometimes I put the pretty view of that wall on my screen for hours to inspire me all day . The doors are the best , natural wood is so beautiful. It just hurts my heart when people paint it . The wide trim around the doors and windows is so perfect. Happy , happy Spring !!!
Ahh, yes I’ve definitely heard that before (the dump) 😉 We must keep the wall for you then ☺️ But I’m so so sorry to tell you, we are gonna paint the doors to fit the traditional Swedish style 😬 It’s gonna be really cute though. Maybe light blue or green. (Julian suggested white) 🥱 Thank you for being here and being you 🥰 Love, Annie
So good to hear! Yeah, I guess time flew and it was a while between the videos. Thank you for the warm ‘welcome back’ ❤️ Happy Monday! Love, Annie & Julian

Hi Annie and Julian , Thank you for sharing your dream with us all . I love your Happiness and gratefulness , your home is beautiful . looking forward to watching many more shows. from Australia 🌹🍀🌺💜
Can I just say a BIG THANK YOU to the three of you for this video. I'm sick with the flu at the moment. So stuck in bed. This was the medicine I needed today ❤️❤️❤️❤️you can't help but feel good watching your videos. Thank you thank you ❤️
I would keep the old log walls visible for sure. Have you considered staining the top part darker to match the logs? Would make the room look taller. Oh my gosh! I would really need a big trash container as well but there is no way a truck could make it down the road so I just have to make hundreds of trips to the dump with the trailer instead. It will take years! 🤣
Okay ☺️ Great suggestion! Julian suggested something similar yesterday 🪵 We’ll see 😊 Oh 🙈 I hope you will find joy in the process no matter how it ends up ✨ Love, Annie

Wow, a 40 minutes video! how awesome! I'm glad to see you hack! This was a lovely thing to watch. A lot of progress on the house! and it's as beautiful as ever! I'm super happy for you! (And thanks for the recipes! I'll try them out soon!) Thank you for the video, and for your beautiful energy!
I also discovered I had a beautiful old wall when renovating the kitchen at my torp (in VGL). I wasn't sure I wanted to keep it bare because of insulation issues, but from an old builder I was told I could use a mixture of rye, sand and linseed oil in any open crack I wanted to seal. I suppose it might be an old Danish recipy, so that might be something you could look out for. It is as you can see also a sustainable solution for an old torp. Btw, strange door, it must be something gone wrong in production!
Okay! This might be gold! Thank you so much, I will tell Julian about this miracle recipe. Because yeah, we were planning on insulating the wall on the inside as well. Yeah, the door, right? 😆 Thanks again ❤️ Annie
Annie and Julian - I see in this video you are using the old stove - Thought earlier you were going to replace it? Did you rebuild it? I must've missed that somehow. ?? I'm refurbishing an old 1980 series Australian made wood burner for my outdoor BBQ area. I fun project. Thanx again for a lovely episode!!
Hey Kev :) You'r almost in real time now! But did you go straight from fall to spring? We buy a new (old) wood stove in August an Julian replaces it in fall or winter. It's in there somewhere. Oh that sounds so cool! We're currently planning a spa area, which makes me think of your BBQ area.
Are you not allowed to have a burn pile there? Very common in rural USA. Not toxic stuff, but brush piles and wood scrap. Also, that small wood stove/oven...common there? Ours here are huge. Would love to have something similar here.
Yes, it is allowed. It just has to be in the right circumstances, like wet weather and not too close to anything. The stove, I’m not really sure. I think they might be common in small houses and cabins, and then they are bigger in normal and big houses 😊 Love, Annie
Hi, was curious on the brand and cost of your solar panels and what setup you guys have? I have a little red cabin that could be a doppelganger to yours and am looking into solar :)
Thanks for your question! I don’t have the answer right now 😅✌️ Maybe you can see it if you look back at our older videos, where we put them up the first time. Otherwise I can get back to you. Stay in touch 🤔🩷
Thank you for your videos, I've just found your channel so I have a lot of catching up to do. I think the word you keep searching for, for a trash place might be a "dump".
Great suggestion! I think it would take YEARS to burn it all. And we really wanted the space and the land to be free from all the old, moldy wood. The forest, on the other hand, is filled with small branches and fallen trees, that we are allowed to bring inside and keep us warm. x Annie
Hmm. Shame about the doors. But usually yes you want the hinges inside the building and not outside. But if you flip the whole assembly the other way your door would swing left instead of right which might work for you. 🤷♀️
26:58 Axeworking 🪓😱 The movement of the axe must be vertical. Specially from the moment if die blade hit down of the wood. Never swinging the axe in this way at your own direction!!! You’re right 😊 I’m still practicing. You are the first one to notice the stone! You’re absolutely right, it’s a terrible idea. Julian is so skilled, he never hits the stone. And I don’t chop as much. Would you belive me if I said we haven’t found a chopping block yet? 😄 It’s high on the wish list. But it needs to be dry. The blocks around here are falling apart. But as soon as we have a reason to cut down a bigger tree, a chopping block is on top of the list.
