  • A few weeks ago we 'Pinched Out' our Strawflowers, now we can have a catch up to see how they are getting on and plant them out into the garden.
If you are particularly looking for the For the 'pinching information' fast forward to minute 5!
The weather is unusually hot at the moment so I am going to add a bit of Horticultural Fleece to act as shade cloth to reduce plant stress and help them get quickly established.

They look amazing! Have you tried using one of those garden claw thingys? We have heavy clay and can recommend using one, much quicker than digging 👍🏻, not the little hand held one, the taller one x

A trick you can do with clay is to roughly dig over the patch you want to cultivate (I’m sure you could use your gadget) but then leave the lumps on the soil surface over winter. Clay soil holds a lot of water, when the soil freezes the water in the clay particles expands and the clumps of soil slowly start breaking up. You then just give it a final going over in spring. This worked especially well after such a cold winter xxx
