There was a run I did where I angered the gods, managed to kite Steve, got SUPER LUCKY with my perk reroll, and made peace with the gods. Steve then followed me around, kill a ton, then died. I also died eventually too, but it was cool.
agreed heh. played for hundreds of hours before i decided it was lets look at youtube tips time. I wouldnt know what i know after playing for as long as i have without looking up/at people like dunk, suffer, fury, mcqueeb, nymphs.. n mm sorry if i forgot anyone else on yt who has gave me good knowledge.
Here's one more (0 risk, 0 ambrosia): The ping-pong luminous drill method: Google up a ping-pong luminous drill wand, it's a farily easy one to build and is very effective in general. then use it to dig into the holy mountain roof, and just keep digging a tunnel until u reach his chamber so u r directly above him. then guess what, now just start shooting him through the wall with that wand. his projectiles are too big to pass throuhgh the holes from ur drill, and his matter eating won't be activated even. guaranteed 0 damage kill, doesn't require any ambrosia. keep ur tunnel close enough to the chamber so after u kill him u can dig below fast enough to collect the gold Thanks for the other methods Dunk!
Just got noita 2 days ago, killed skoud with my full auto glowing lance pretty quickly and was very proud because Steve has killed me like 10 times already lol what a great game
One of the most satisfying things to do is have the ghosts kill big Steve. Shows how puny the gods of this world really are. No wonder they're so mad, they're pathetic!
yeah I always thought steve was like this mega tough enemy and skoude might as well be unkillable. At least until i started killing steve with the statue. Now Skoude is the only real threat as far as 'gods' go and heres a new dunkorslam video telling me how to fight him.
If you can't beat him, just dig out and leave through the water pools, steve and his big bro are a problem only if you want the perks, if you are daring, you can skedaddle after a quick look at the shop, it's recommended to dig your way out before checking since sometimes, they can aggro when you are in the right edge of the shop
Man I’ve learned more from you than any other Noita commentator. Would LOVE to see you do videos on each of the more troublesome bosses, especially alchemist and wand collector. Lost a ton of runs to those two.
There's a trick where you can make wand collector commit suicide right at the beginning of the game, so you can look that up on youtube if you havent known of it. As for a more "conventional" way to deal with him, use plasma beam (of any kind) trigger wand on him, and he'll replicate that spell, killing himself. For alchemist, his spells are very dodgeable so you just need to know what he usually cast and learn to dodge them. I usually just fly around him, over his head, then walk under him, and repeat. It works, as long as you are constantly on the move. Alchemist is also very weak to plasma beam (every boss is, lol)
Hey Dunk thanks for the tips… don’t be afraid to post some long posts! I like to watch a full run more than playing myself sometimes. I don’t always have time to watch a long video but on TH-cam I can pause and finish it off later. Keep up the good work!
I would have killed him... if I didn't have perk causing teleportesis when being damaged... I didn't know how terrible idea it was to take it before temple of arts which I teleported trough like a lighting strike... my first time to get to boss and I had the right wand to do so, only thing left was to beat big steave, long story short, one hit, teleport to lava lake :)
Yep. Never take teleportitis, almost never take teleportitis dodge. It doesn't matter how many times it works and saves you if it ends up killing you in the end. Way too much of a liability even before the vault with its acid vats or temple of the art with its plentiful lava and the lava lake below, since it can teleport you into uncharted territory with too many enemies.
Got my first death from Scott today. He ended run that lasted two and a half hours. But I still was underpowered when I fought him, since it was right in the shop before jungles, so i didnt find really good stuff yet. I didnt know I was outmatched though, I was confident since Steve always was an easy enemy and I didnt expect such massive power boost in Scott. But damn I was not ready. The thing just ate everything I threw in it and didnt even bother. My wand with fireballs just didnt pierce his shield and the rapid fire one run out of mana quicker than I managed to deal noticeable damage. I figured out Im no match for him and run with my teleport wand, triggering the collapse on my they out hoping it'll do damage. This is when I learned he has the matter eating field AND that he ALWAYS know where you are. When I understood that I cant run I figured out I can deal damage while I was inside his shields and even managed to deal him couple hundreds of damage, but, sadly, my xp ended faster than his. I think I could've got him if I knew what I was up against, but, as always in Noita, knowledge has price
This has nothing to do with the video but still I consider it a good piece of advice. Whenever you start the run with the "Mud potion" you can climb the mountain pretty easy by just spraying it on the walls :) that way I always grab the orb on top if I can dig with the starting wand
Earliest encounter with Big Steven happens after 3 levels, and only if you killed regular Steve so you have a lot of opportunities to explore and find a way to kill big guy
@@DunkOrSlam Skoude is slang for cop and Stevari is slang for guard in finnish. EDIT; Ok so somebody at the bottom of the comment section already pointed that out lol.
I didn't know that he triggers the matter eater aura only after you aggro him that's interesting maybe a decent method to kill him would be trying to trigger an earthquake in the perk room before he sees you
Can you do a video on the fungal caverns? I was trying to explore there yesterday, and was grabbed/teleported into a bunch of horrible shit and destroyed almost instantly... Was really depressing and was hard to learn anything other than "stay away from fungal place"
any area in the game that is not part of the straight down biomes is generally less consistency and more chaos. when you decide to go to fungal caverns you need be prepare to dip at any time. and make sure you have a decent wand, play it slower than you would in hisi base for example. hisi base is dangerous but at least you know what to expect everytime you go there for the most part, but fungal is full of various liquids that cause problems as well as the chaotic nature of the terrain, very bumpy and messy and has a lot of wands laying around that enemies might pick up. but those wands if you can get to them are generally stronger than what you would find in coal pits or even the next 1 or 2 floors. one of the worst liquids is chaotic teleportadium which can send you anywhere in the area but is less likely to affect you if you try to keep yourself wet with water / blood also since fungus is flamable theres almost always a fire in the biome so another reason to try to stay wet at all times. also sometimes enemies from the biome above fungal will wander into fungal if theres an opening and the enemies in that biome are even worse and usually include wizards that mess with your wand usage or teleport you forcibly or have homing attacks ect.. so taking pot shots from cover and not playing in their face is the best bet, run away and shoot for every fight, have the west side of coal pits cleared out so you have somewhere to run to before doing fungal
With the ambrosia trick, if you get luminous drill or plasma cutter before skoude spawns, its a very fast way to kill him Forgot to say use freeze charge, i think it reduces the amount of bone dust because his body doesnt decompose properly cuz its frozen One more thing Im pretty sure u can use invisiblium
Im not sure if it was regular steeve or scott or both for that matter but with projectile repulsion field the close range bubbles will get thrown away before hitting you
nope, you cannot poly big steve, but killing regular steve while he's polymorphed doesn't count as "steve kill" and doesn't enrage gods so you can postpone the big one if you have those poly methods
There was a run I did where I angered the gods, managed to kite Steve, got SUPER LUCKY with my perk reroll, and made peace with the gods. Steve then followed me around, kill a ton, then died. I also died eventually too, but it was cool.

@@runningonmTee Yeah if you get peace with gods and the gods are spawned, they become friendly. I think that may apply to skoude as well.

Big Steve? His name is _Scott_
You have Steve and Scott
I died to Skoude on our last community Noita Together run. I was a bit embarrassed on that one. Thanks for sharing the tips, Dunk!
Ayy he finally made the big Steve video, I honestly think it was very well put together and planned

I discovered what not only rocks, but propane tanks are also works well, though results could be unpredictable
if you've gotten to big steve, without having a wand to kill him then i feel like thats a pretty failed run tbh
Yeah if you’re gonna break the temple you better get op or Scoot gonna murder you
Worms break the temple before you are ready sometimes though.

You know it’s a good day when dunk posts a video
Yes! I have been waiting for this video since the video of how to kill small Steve. Yes!
scot is steve´s big bro
he is not steve, but steward
According to the WIki the community calls him "Scott" since is closer to the actual Finnish pronunciation.
Dangit I knew I was forgetting a nickname there. Woooops. I hear that one all the time, I dont know why I forgot it

But now, much much knockback.
