@@Kriae personally I actually really like the absolute screwiness of the numerous ways to escape the holy mountain and enjoy the tradeoffs I end up facing depending on which method(s) I have available! it makes the game take longer, but it wasn't a game for 15-minute sessions anyway
Something not mentioned in the video: skoude CAN detect you through invisibility, but only to follow you and activate matter eater. It's sort of an offcase, but don't try sneaking past him with invisiblium.
As a random experienced player from the wild I insist you get comfortable around angering the gods. It WILL happen, and many times you wont even know why. Being comfortable with angry gods is key to giga runs.
as someone that can berely deal with the gods i will absolutely anger them anything for money i have lost many runs to the m for money i don't care anything for money
My favorite way to deal with this is to just use a polymorph field to transform Steve into a sheep. It's actually a fairly common spawn in the early shops. No gold but meh, gold is easy to get. As a bonus, killing him as a sheep will never enrage the gods, so as long as you poly him every time, you will never see Scott!
Fun fun! Yeah, there is no end to the amount of effective wand builds you can make to take them out. This video is more aimed at people who don't really know how to build very effective wands yet, since there are always newer people checking out the game, and Steve and Scott can be significant hurdles.
I'll be honest, steve, did ruin a lot of my runs early on which could have been good, you'll always get a chance to get back up the mountain, you'll always be able to find money and there are ways to circumvent steve and scott with poly or teleport bolts so you can still have wand editing without any risk. It's a good perk.
Sure there are ways to circumvent it. Sure there is a perk. But you may not find this perk and have to deal with a spider or a worm angering the gods and you're going to have a bad time unless you know how to deal with Stevari and Skoude. This video is simply saying: "hey, try to learn how to fight them. After you do it, and your confidence grows, you'll realize that you don't need Peace with the Gods." I am trying to empower people and give: options!
I usually do the kick to steve when i can, but it sucks when the statue renders in the ground. Good to note about scott though, I didn't know that he activates the matter eater on sight
Something not mentioned here. If you haven't angered the gods yet but want to. A patient person with an empty flask and a means of making electricity can fill the right side of the holy mountain with the water from the two tanks. And just keep that electrified until he stumbles in and dies. Afterward, you'll need a way of flooding the whole holy mountain if you want to do it again when they're already angry.
I tried to do the statue kick and my smirk from finally beating the thing that had been killing me for so long quickly became a look of terror when the statue didnt move...
Might be worthwhile to note that Peace with the Gods now has an additional effect of making perk duping easier, since now Steve or Scott can come crash your party while you're polymorphed at a certain area.
Killing Steve can make a decisive difference between being able to afford a Circle of Vigor or not. If his upgraded form is problematic for you, it's okay to simply flee. If you have no means of fleeing, you're extremely unlucky because by the time you GET the upgraded Steve (which the earliest you can get him is the Jungle) you should have a black hole spell or at the very least access to acid of any kind, whether through an Acid Ball, an Acid trail, etc. What I like to do from Jungle onward is use two black holes in the holy mountain to dig an underground tunnel below the perks, grab the perks from safety and then use the final black hole to dig downwards into the next biome.
I love this video, I have found myself in more than a few situations where I could get out of a mountain and preserve editing but I’m scared of these to so I don’t. I knew that was probably not the right response and this gives me the confidence to know that’s true. Screw the gods. And Steve. And especially Scott.
YOU ARE strong fury, for offering so much help to plebs like myself.... i FINALLY killed kolmi with a couple orbs a short while ago.... im stillm iserable at making wands but your positivity gave me the push i needed to kill 6power kolmi
i was afraid of the gods in the past , but then i learned for myself , for the first time i got super op seed not only i beat Noita for the first time that day finally , but i also killed both god variants and turns out they're pretty weak with strong wands like mine 2 and can be killed with ease . It was a few weeks ago like 1 or 2 and i have a lot of hours in Noita so it took a while to win , but it was worth winning and fun .
Normally what I do is drill out passages on top of the holy mountain so I have sniping spots. It can take a long time early in the game because I generally don't have a fast wand. But it can be a very safe way to get rid of him
I'm never worried about Steve as he is a weenie. What worries me when I anger the gods early is whether or not I will have enough damage to kill Scott by the time his big angry ass comes around. Thanks for all the amazing content Fury you are the man!
I ended up learning a way to easily kill Scott that worked flawlessly first time by accident: simply enter the Holy Mountain from the exit and collapse it. If Scott is in a good position, his obituary reads "died from crumbling ceiling, remember to sue the Gods" (then it's a matter of rushing with a soft drill to collect the gold before the curse does a number on you).
on a run where i got an always cast wand with BLACK HOLES I screwed up so bad on the statue kick and proceeded to panic and get myself blasted across the room, stunlocked and killed, not by the steve but a shotgun guy.
After watching many vids and failing many times I am finally able to make use of items, build wands and all that good shit, but somehow I can never just take a good run and finish it, I always go on some silly tangent with all the fun stuff in the world(s) and get myself killed. Anyone else? x) Anyway, this will definitely help getting good runs way more often.
I had a fun build that made it easy to kill him. I had infinite rocks with an always cast perk, and homing from another perk, then contact damage. I spammed rocks until Steve was stuck, then sat nearby until he died from being too close
Unless the code changed since the last time I Noita'd; the reason you anger the gods is *because* of the peace with the gods perk. Anger gods -> Spawn angry boys -> elevate to angrier boys -> collect peace with the gods -> every holy mountain spawns an angry boy who is now an a friendly angry boy.

The first time I angered the Gods was a complete accident, and, huh... Turns out the wand build I had made just killed the smaller one in shot. I had impressed the God's with said wands five minutes ago.
the other day my left statue was stuck in the ground with a pixel or 2, the statue looked normal, but didn't move an inch. it ended a pretty lucky run, which i'm still a bit mad about.
i get frequent crashes on noita but everytime i load back on and restore my save, something buggy happens like the whole area i was in vanishes. so when i crashed in the loot room, it disappeared and spawned a god but the walls caved on top of him so i just slowly shot him with my starter wand till it died
Sounds good when I can not circumvent them. Stevari is easy enough for me now, but to get to Scott takes around an hour+ to get there. They can both be very dangerous. I would not provoke "the Gods" until I am powerful enough if I can help it, but at least this way it isn´t an immediate Game Over anymore. Sometimes it is simply the only option when I want to keep the area intact, to destroy the temple. ...progress equals learning how to deal with a new situation :)
I am just beginning to be able to build good wands. With my recent most powerful wand I met "Sätkymestari" for the first time. Also is tablet kicking supposed to be throw+kick? Its probably more powerful than the normal throw, right? I guess yes. Time to try another thing I didnt know about. Oh and time to hunt some "gods".
It takes some practice to time it correctly, but once you have it down, tablet kicking becomes a very powerful weapon in your arsenal. The tablet will do more damage the more velocity it has.
Minä means "I" or "me" in Finnish. It's not the name Mina. The character is canonically whatever you want it to be - any gender, not even human? But we are the Noita.
Despite all this, they really should fix that bug where worms burrow their way into the temple even when you haven't broken the worm crystal. (and yes, I know fanboys will insist this is not a bug. I don't care.)
Today the gods got angry for no reason as soon as I reached first Holy mountain. I promptly statue kicked Steve. I had crappy wands but whatever. Then I reach the second mountain, with good wands and explosion immunity. I try the kick, it hit but didn't kill Steve. Somehow Steve destroyed me there.

3:46 In my experience, this is very, very true. Usually by this point if I’ve killed Steve three times and buy a bunch of stuff and break out of the mountain a couple times, I can usually kill Scott without thinking too hard. That also assumes I even go that deep in the base game before I just start exploring the over world and kill some of the easier surface bosses. If you really wanna be sure how strong you can get by this point, you can probably kill the alchemist and the pyramid boss if you are slightly lucky and very persistent by floor three with a lot of different things. And, in my opinion, once you kill Alchemist, the world is your oyster nine times out of ten.
