incredible work! As in all your projects, people who are not dedicated to the world of mechanics cannot understand the work involved. The reconstruction is perfect and the customization work is incredible. Your projects are worth every cent! Thanks for sharing your work
Thanks, that's awesome to hear 👍🏼 It's the hard part to make it look easy, but I won't make any compromises, everything needs to be 100% 👌🏼
Yeah sorry man, did took a while. The emblems do are available by Custom Caferacer when interested 👍🏼
Awesome job man. can't wait to see the end result
You're lucky! The videos status is private, but I already added this video to the K1200 playlist so you could see it via that route, nice premier for you. thanks man, hope to get this bike finished asap!
Brilliant job so far
Thanks man 🤙🏼👍🏼
What a joy to watch. Thanks for sharing.
Your welcome buddy 👊🏼
Great work. Love following this build.
Thanks man 👍🏼 Hope to finish it asap!
Thanks for sharing your fantastic build
You're welcome, great to hear that you like the build 👍🏼
Thanks man.
Great video, keep them coming!!
Thanks man, sure will!
Beautiful work 👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks 👍🏼💪🏼
Great work Si, can't wait to see her finished 💪
Thanks mate!! Need to finish this asap, summer is coming 😎
Congrats!! I doing a k1200 project since 2020, its realy hard work
Thanks man 👍🏼 Yes it really has it's challenges compared to the earlier K bikes, but well get there 💪🏼 Good luck with your project 👍🏼
I've had a desire to rebuild my K100RS into a bobber for years now, but I've always struggled trying to figure out how to make the ergonomics work. Watching your video I realize I have the wrong bike, I need a K1200! That frame is shaped perfectly for this! I can't wait to see the rest of your build.
I build a couple of K100's and those really are great for a bobber as well, but this comes with more power, newer tech and indeed another shaped frame. Need to get the tank sorted out asap so I can start working on the seating position 👌🏼👍🏼
Complimenti per il magnifico lavoro!
Muchas gracias amigo 👊🏼 🤙🏼
Awesome work buddy, well done.
Thanks 👊🏼 👍🏼
Brother no hablo inglés. Pero veo tu ingeniería. Y t doy un 10 q brutal. Tu motocicleta.
Good job mate 👍
Thanks buddy 👊🏼👍🏼
this is the closest to the concept that i would build for myself…just for starters…i like the mat finishes and ditching the chrome…i like what you’ve done even better than my idea to use a brushed nickel finish…the tank might be a bit tricky, but i’m sure you’ll nail that too…
beautiful work!
cheers!
Thank you man, it's a fairly hard bike to build compared to the K100's and airheads. Frame and fuel tank makes it hard, but we'll get that sorted out 💪🏼 Thanks for following 👍🏼
quick observation…im only mentioning this because i believe that you probably already are aware of these details and are building a purists bike that is true to its intentions…unlike so many others… “cafe racers” with clip ons with knobby tires?
so here goes…your wheelbase is longer than a typical sport bike’s, and this poses a challenge for what you do with tank , seat, and fender…in some shots it looks proportioned, and others it’s longer… im thinking that stretching tank back a bit, and do the same with seat might give it better scale …raising both as much as you can get away with might help too..
digging your build buddy!
Ok thanks for the heads up, good to know 👍🏼
Finally some new footage from you mate, another solid build! Cannot wait to see the finale result, keep up the good work!
Yes I know, long overdue! We had a newborn, so had to take some time off. But everything is ok and there's loads of progress, next week new video on the new build. Btw welcome to the club!
Understandable, but congrats to you and the misses with him/her! Looking forward to the next video mate.
@@krede7242 Thanks man, it's a corner junior, so I've got a apprentice in the garage coming up! Next week new video on the new build, just finished the video
@@corner.custom An heir to all your projects one day, gotta learn from the best! Just received the new seat for mine today, so i'll start cutting the frame tomorrow
@krede7242 Yes indeed! Ok sounds great man! Good luck. Right now I'm struggling hard with the wiring 😅
Nice 👌
Thanks 👊🏼👍🏼
Those spokes are a pain in the rear. I approached it differently. I cut them down until only about 50mm left in the rim. Then put spoke tightly in drill chuck and spin them. 40 spokes if I recall 😢 Great project
I've tried that as well haha, but I couldn't get them loose that way 😑
Are you not changing the temper (strength) of the metal wheel when you are applying that heat?
Really enjoyed the work you are doing!
I'm not too worried about that, the main heat is in wheel, but the locally on the rear of the spoke. TBH is was surprised how quickly the aluminum cooled down when cutting of the head. That's why I needed to reheat it in order to tap out the spoke
Looks very good, I' absolutly impressed. But why didn't you change the fork to a normal fork?
Thanks man, appreciated 👏🏻 Well the frame makes it near impossible to go for a conventional fork setup. That's because of the trailing arm and not having a regular headstem
Mooiiii😊
Bedankt 👍🏼👌🏼
👍👍👍
👍🏼👊🏼
Where can I get the the floating BMW logohub adapter?
Send a DM to Custom Caferacer on Instagram and he'll help you out 👍🏼
Ok 👏☕🏍️
👊🏼👍🏼
How did y you get the front fork "holm's" so flat surfaced
You most probably could have used the fork from a R1150 and their brake Japanese brake calipers.
There is German "tuner" that makes BMW spoke wheels, using the same patented technique as BMW allowing to mount tubeless.
I wanted to do that as wheels on my R1100RS, use GS wheels, but not a 19 inch one, i got the R1150(RS) wheels, the K1200 wheels have the rear brake disk mounted differently.
What do you mean with "holm's"? I've heard that also about the R1150 forks, but I already worked on the OEM forks, but this works just fine. Thanks for following 👍🏼
@@corner.custom the "holm" is the outside tube of the fork in German, the inner tube is called "stand röhr", I'm upgrading my R1100RS with all the parts of the R1150RS, fork, wheels and brake discs, 6 speed gearbox and hydraulic clutch, swing arm, foot rests + pedals, shocks and the stuff on the handlebars plus I'll using a RnineT handle bar.
I'm using a R1150GS final drive for 6% more acceleration and 6% less top speed.
The casting of the final drive was used on BMW K1, K1100, K1200, R1100, R1150.
accept the holes of the speed sensor, abs or the mudguard of the GS differ. so you can use other gear sets. but you can't buy the socket to loosen the nut on the input shaft.
@@corner.custom And you can't buy the socket for removing the ball joints of the telelever, it's 45 mm plus it's deep.
Ah ok thanks for letting me know, might be helpful for the future 👊🏼👍🏼
@@corner.custom I'm also using the telelever swing arm (längs lenker) of a R1150 Rockster, witch is a pretty cool piece. I'll be pretty much the only one R1100RS with a GS mudguard.
conversion to twin spark is also possible, using the cyl heads from the R1150.
The "new" parts bin on R1100 / R1150 @ BMW is getting slim, since I'm watching BMW's catalog for the last 2 years and some parts changed during this time to no more available. today i got the almost last black cover for the starter motor for R1150.
I think some parts are intentionally not made anymore, like the chain sprocket of the secondary shaft below the crank for the valves. a German dealer recently removed the R1100 series in total from their website.
bravissimo
Graci 🤌🏼
Can't be stuck if it's a liquid!
Ok so it was TIGHT 🤣
I like how meticulous you are,- all the way down to actually restoring and painting the frame the proper way,- no quick welding on a dirty frame and then some smart bling to make it look sharp but not really being that......
Nice.
Thank you, rhat great to hear 👊🏼👍🏼 There's no way doing is half/half, go all out and do it right the first time 👌🏼
Aargh, dat Nederlands 'engels' is tenenkrommend.
Mooi dat je ervan genoten hebt 👍🏼
