They’re allowed to freely interact with any civilians inside and look like they’re afforded some form of liberty. It’s in the Clone Wars TV show and hella canon. I don’t know why every clone wars lore video I see regarding the troops omits 79’s existence.
because this is a Legends lore channel; Clone Wars is Disney. Even before Disney bought LucasArts and Star Wars, Clone Wars changed the lore for younger audiences and modern viewers, which the Disney later built their lore around. The newer Clone Wars tv show fits more in Disney lore than EU lore, especially with EU using indoctrination and training as a basis for Order 66, as opposed to the Clone Wars show's and Disney's inhibitor chips. i hope that explains things for you. disney tried to do away with the moral ambiguity; another addition to it's list of sins. 79's bar is no different from the stupid inhibitor chip idea.
Honestly, I love the Clones more than Stormtroopers and both much more than the First Order Troopers. The First Order Trooper helmets looks ridiculous.
First Order helmets are quite nice! Both generations of clone trooper helmets and both versions of stormtrooper helmets were very well done. Though it's understandable if you have a preference. Maybe your view on the quality of the sequel trilogy changes your view on the armor.
@@geetslys I am sure that the First Order helmets were engineered wonderfully, and my opinion of the quality might be influencing my taste. However, I can't take them seriously since it looks like they are smiling at me. How can I be frightened of them when they are so jovial.
Uhm yes, when you really dive deep into Star Wars, one thing that comes up a lot is the psychology of clones. They are 10 year old fighting in the bodies of grown men. Also apparently they all have the same nightmares because if you remember when Fives and Tup died and were mentioning the dreams and the mission, all clones in the room looked like they knew exactly what they were talking about
Well now hold on a second, remember the opening of A New Hope? Stormtroopers pushed through that choke point and they did it without the aid of a force wielder
Ultimately, it comes down to this: - Clone Troopers were born to fight and die for war, and the Republic was up against an equal force that could spread propaganda as easily as they could. - Stormtroopers were normal people, mostly, and the Empire had an iron grip on the media. The Clone Troopers were doomed to this fate... one more horror to their already nightmarish existence.
I think part of the reason was the helmet, which was based on the mandalorian mask. In The commando book, Darmstadt saw farmers who were cowering before him, even after he saved them
True. Also the Mandalorians were a source of fear and dread for the Republic since millenia. Millions of them suddenly appearing as a highly efficient fighting force wouldn’t have helped.
Stormtroopers were just dudes doing their job. Keeping this in mind, they're the part of the Imperial military that respected Vader the most, a man who had no qualms bodying inept and corrupt officers, almost regardless of that officer's station outside the military. So there's a populist element involved I think. Beneath the helmets they're not too different from working Joe's. Clones were scary, the thinking power of sentients but the group solidarity comparable to battle droids. You could also never be in their group, ever. But recruits, they could be sons of neighbors or family. A lot more sociable I would think.
A stormtrooper brigade was ordered to execute a dissident Clone Trooper once via firing squad. Coroner's report was pretty clear... most of the Stormtroopers died from friendly fire. Many died from engaging hand to hand with the unarmed Clone. Cause of Death for the clone was marked as "Laughing himself to death."
Clone troopers: "I'LL DIE FOR THE REPUBLIC" Stormtroopers: "There's a dude slicing us with a laser sword! What? Blast him down? How can I blast him down? You didn't train me well to do it! And now he's reflecting our shots!! *I QUIT!!!"*
"The clones were like the United States marine corps. They would lead the charge to put down insurrections and were often employed to spread terror on any worlds that resisted the iron rule of the empire." as an american, yes.
Stormtroopers: are respected even if they commit crimes against sentient beings Civilians : my like Clones: *Commit a few war crimes* Civilians: AAAAAA ITS THE ANIMANIACS TAKE THEM AWAY TAKE! terrans: I know how it feels they all fear me to Clones: Thanks man.
Ah, good old Gary. He helped my Nan cross the street, asked if he could use her bathroom, accidentally started a fire in there, made a run for it with Stormtrooper Carl, and then blamed it on the sand people. Then he accidentally ran over an Ewok. XD.
The clones only wrought war. The stormtroopers were a symbol of stability, order, and peacetime. The idiotic rebellion and their scum allies broke that image by turning the people against the symbol of Imperial Unity and Peace.
It’s like looking at drones vs actual soldiers Which are you gonna fear more The machine designed to cause mass destruction Or a guy who enlists to protect his nation
Clones be like: “You ever wonder why we’re here?” “It's one of life's great mysteries isn't it? Why are we here? I mean, are we the product of some cosmic coincidence, or is there really a God watching everything? You know, with a plan for us and stuff. I don't know, man, but it keeps me up at night.”
I mean, clones were actually scary and very efficient soldiers, who's sole reason for even existing was to be top of the line warriors. Storm troopers were largely cops and very inefficient at that. A single clone was scary because you knew they could kick your ass. A single storm trooper most likely couldn't, and they were intimidating only in numbers
the clones are also basically murdering psychopath if you think stormtroopers are bad you never met a clone especially if he was stationed on a former CIS world
5:06 I remember when the Flood invaded Kamino and destroyed the cloning facility. The Empire shut it down and stopped using clones because of a they were too “Expensive.” I see through your lies, Emperor....
the clones just came out of nowhere for most people and it most likely doesn't help when someone learn that they are clones of Jango Fett, a guy who beat like 6 jedi unarmed, and people already fear the jedi because they don't understand them either
The Stormtroopers were pretty acurate if you look at the battle of Scariff or Hoth. The reason why we don't think so is because we only see them fight against the protagonists who are strong with the force and have plot armour. Prove me wrong!
That's honestly true! Like at the beginning of A New Hope, you see them mow down nameless rebel soldiers! And they only lose like a few off their own! I think I counted at least 2 fallen stormtroopers! Against a total party kill on the Rebels.
@@bobbymedina9622 someone even compared the accuracy of the Stromtroopers to that of modern (US?) soldiers, and the stormtroopers were about three times as accurate.
I could be remembering wrong, but I remember something about them missing the protagonists on purpose because they wanted them to escape and lead them back the rebel base.
@@epiczombiedoctor5961 the flood would still wreck the CIS, just ask the Sentinels and promethians who were created specifically to combat the flood and even though they couldn’t be infected they still had trouble and numbers weren’t on their side.

3:50 Hayber: “You’re inherently violent and don’t care about civilian lives!” Jango Fett: “I think that sounds about right” Clone Troopers: “I am not like that”
Clones were also only really deployed to battle areas, so in the public's eye they left a trail of destruction behind them. Whereas the stormtroopers had no real battles to fight as there was no enemy apart from a small rebellion. So they would be seen as being more like peacekeepers. Furthermore, most of the people alive during the clone wars would've gone on to experience the rise of the empire as well and lots of them probably didn't even notice the difference, except for the fact that there was a huge trail of destruction or large scale battles.
The brutality of the clones was truly exagerated in many occasions, and honestly I will 100% prefer to have clones than stormtroopers close to me, screw the Empire
I think that this was part of the genius of Palpatine’s plot, Make people unsure of the mysterious GAR so that you can change the policy at the birth of the emu pure to shift loyalty away from the Republic and toward the Empire through control of information
Because they realized the clones had no rights, family, or anything they got to own. They were slaves and the Republic citizens were scared because they knew that if the clones wanted independence and got it, then the clones may not have to fight in the war and that means that Republic citizens would have to fight and god forbid they had to do that.
They were more scared of clones because of the accents. No one else in the Star Wars galaxy had a Maori accents so when you hear one you think of death. Ngl really cool accent to have irl
i was thinking more of a psychological horror type thing like, "hey, i know you're innocent and all, but to the other imps, all you rodians look the same, so why don't you make this easy and tell me where i can find who I'm looking for before I write you up?"
That's because most Stormies were regular people not brought up in a clone environment. They see the average Stormie, and they see who, exactly? They see Johnny down the street who signed up for the army. They see Timmy, all grown up and fulfilling his dream of serving on a spaceship. They see Jake from the neighborhood who's serving and protecting it. Meanwhile, the clones dont have that much of a connection to the populace, and they were trained to be so loyal they'd frag their own Jedi commanders if given the word. That's not someone whom the average person can trust. In comparison, they can trust the average Stormtrooper because they're the same as the civilians, only enlisted and paid by the state to patrol and keep safe society as a whole.
I imagine that the fact that the later Stormtroopers were human helped matters considerably. They were people with families and ties to the community. Even though we know that doesn't stop atrocities from militaries it does make soldiers more relatable and we can imagine them as the kid from down the road who went off to the academy after High School instead of a vat created science experiment who may never have spoken to a real person and may not see themselves as related to them.
Wait- so now if two people ever want to have kids in the galaxy, they have to check their lineage to see if their forefathers were clones, or else they'd be marrying their half-sister?
The more I watch these videos, the less I find myself supporting Clones. I still think that they're the best soldiers, but 1) they're organic slaves with no guaranteed future, who 2) would've lost the Clone Wars being vastly outnumbered by the droids, and 3) were essentially kept a secret from civilians with no real room for connection.

It's not hard to see how public opinion about the two groups would differ so much, even without having to use propaganda. The Stormtroopers were quite literally people's friends, family, and neighbors. It's a lot easier to sympathize and root for an army when you know some of the soldiers by name. Not to mention it brings about the thought that, if the army was ordered to do something horrible, it's harder to imagine that your friends in said army would go through with it. Whether or not they actually would doesn't matter. But with a practically nameless and faceless clone army, there's no such sympathies. Clones were created wholly to join the army, not given the personal choice to join of their own free will.
I really like this deep cut of culture and politics that you analyze. I know some (maybe a lot) of fans don’t like how the prequels have all this politics and intrigue stuff but I think it adds depth to the story and makes it feel more real. No matter what your political persuasions, it also has a lot of parallels with our own experience (wherever that may be).

@@xenomang3149 Correct Disney commend order 66.... And destroyed everything we loved. One will turn our kids against us as well and destroy America.
Honestly, I love the Clones more than Stormtroopers and both much more than the First Order Troopers. The First Order Trooper helmets looks ridiculous.
Clones are the best soldiers the galaxy has ever known in my opinion
First Order helmets are quite nice! Both generations of clone trooper helmets and both versions of stormtrooper helmets were very well done. Though it's understandable if you have a preference. Maybe your view on the quality of the sequel trilogy changes your view on the armor.

Anyone else noticed how there was really cool fanart of clones fighting against the flood from Halo?
Captain Fordo: destroys the Flood DOOM style
Master Chief: *scared*
Ultimately, it comes down to this:
- Clone Troopers were born to fight and die for war, and the Republic was up against an equal force that could spread propaganda as easily as they could.
Last time I was this early, Sauron gave me a cool ring and I was still Human
At least you got some cool bling, isn’t that better then being human?
Stormtroopers were just dudes doing their job. Keeping this in mind, they're the part of the Imperial military that respected Vader the most, a man who had no qualms bodying inept and corrupt officers, almost regardless of that officer's station outside the military. So there's a populist element involved I think. Beneath the helmets they're not too different from working Joe's.
Clones were scary, the thinking power of sentients but the group solidarity comparable to battle droids. You could also never be in their group, ever. But recruits, they could be sons of neighbors or family. A lot more sociable I would think.

I mean, clones were actually scary and very efficient soldiers, who's sole reason for even existing was to be top of the line warriors. Storm troopers were largely cops and very inefficient at that. You are 100% correct.

Hayber: “You’re inherently violent and don’t care about civilian lives!”
Jango Fett: “I think that sounds about right”
Clone Troopers: “I am not like that”
Clones were also only really deployed to battle areas, so in the public's eye they left a trail of destruction behind them.
5:10 love the halo infection form flood appearance and a changing clone. That's pretty dope.
I think that this was part of the genius of Palpatine’s plot, Make people unsure of the mysterious GAR so that you can change the policy at the birth of the emu pure to shift loyalty away from the Republic and toward the Empire through control of information
Because people love Larry the stormtrooper’s vlog on the Death Star
I honestly thought it was going to be "the clones were weapons made for war, stormtroopers were still humans in the end"

Is it just me, or does the cover art of the stormtrooper look like the Stormtrooper is telling a joke?
i was thinking more of a psychological horror type thing like, "hey, i know you're innocent and all, but to the other imps, all you rodians look the same, so why don't you make this easy and tell me where i can find who I'm looking for before I write you up?"
Clone troopers: were lab bred no one trusted them because they were unknown
Stormtrooper: average Joe picking up a paycheck
I imagine that the fact that the later Stormtroopers were human helped matters considerably. They were people with families and ties to the community. Even though we know that doesn't stop atrocities from militaries it does make soldiers more relatable and we can imagine them as the kid from down the road who went off to the academy after High School instead of a vat created science experiment who may never have spoken to a real person and may not see themselves as related to them.
Wait- so now if two people ever want to have kids in the galaxy, they have to check their lineage to see if their forefathers were clones, or else they'd be marrying their half-sister?
”Prepare to reseve civil judgment”
The more I watch these videos, the less I find myself supporting Clones. I still think that they're the best soldiers, but 1) they're organic slaves with no guaranteed future, who 2) would've lost the Clone Wars being vastly outnumbered by the droids, and 3) were essentially kept a secret from civilians with no real room for connection.
Hey I just saw a picture of the flood vs clones, neat. Wish I could see more like that.

Stormtroopers can indeed hit their targets. We saw it several time and even at the very beginning of A New Hope.
Also the lore say that stormtroopers hits 77% of their targets.
And shall we not forget that just one stormtrooper legion (12 800 soldiers) spread across 3 continents as sole defenses, managed to defeat a rebel planetary assault, according to Twilight Company novels.

@@thekhans2823 well in episode 6 storm troopers could had killed han and his friends... the problem is that ewoks just overwhelmed them lol. in rouge one we saw storm troopers and death troopers were badass but for some reason phoniex squad just destroys even death troopers lol
