If you ignore the Boston Massacre, the New York City draft riots of 1863, so many war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan over two decades of American “peacekeeping,” and innumerable other incidents literally nothing has ever gone wrong! 😂
It’s funny. In Season 1 and the CW Movie, the Guard was heroic in every appearance they made. Seasons 2-4, they were typically portrayed as inept. From Season 5 onwards, they served as antagonists (with the exception of Thorn)
You know that could show how much they hated coruscant since at first they were okay with it then as time went on they became more and more fed up with it to the point where they just didn't care
Sort of the peeling back of the gloss of Republic propaganda. It's an effect that is seen throughout the Clone Wars, and the Coruscant Guard is a strong example.
The Coruscant Guard probably had one of the worst jobs ever. They had to deal with politicians, a fate worse than death. Kinda related: While I didn't like the fact that Fox killed Fives, I actually like Fox because of his name and armor design. I also understand why Fox killed Fives, and kinda view it as a mercy killing. Fives had been made mentally unstable because of the thing the Kaminoian injected him with prior to arriving on Coruscant. Similarly, Fives did attack the Senate, err, I mean, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, which would be seen as treason and a death sentence. Next, Fives imprisoned Anakin and Rex, when Fox arrived with Shocktroopers, it's easy to see that he might have viewed Fives as having gone AWOL and completely insane. Finally, Fives attempted to pull a gun on Fox, while he might not have actually shot at Fox, from Fox's POV, he likely assumed Fives was going to shoot and, due to everything, it's likely Fox had his DC-17 blaster pistol on kill due to Fives basically being guilty of high treason. While the viewers know the full story due to being shown it, Fox only knew that Fives had gone insane, attacked the Chancellor, and was holding a Clone Captain and a Jedi Knight captive.
Not to mention Fives was an ARC trooper meaning by his skill alone if Fives had been alerted to them Fox knew they would in deep poodoo. So the surprise attack was more or less done as way to minimise risk to themselves.
I like how most of the hate Coruscant Guard gets from fans is because of Fox who killed Fives for aiming a gun at him and his team. There is also the misunderstanding he had with Ashoka being the one who killed his men and killed a prisoner. Most of the things Fox is hated for are because of the hard calls he had to make to protect others and follow orders.
True that, plus with commanders like Neyo or Bacara who couldn't give less of a damn of who died under their command really shows some of Fox's good points. The dude actually got mad when he saw what he thought was Ahsoka killing his men. Plus the Fives incident in which he was *explicitly* ordered by Palatine to kill what he believed was a mentally deranged rogue clone. Fox even gave Fives a few warnings to drop his gun when charging at him, giving him the chance to surrender. And if he hadn't he felt like his men were at risk of being shot.
I actually empathies with them rather than hate them. They were heavily manipulated by palpatine arguably more than other clones. They are truly a tragic case of the clone wars and I feel sorry for every single trooper who was in that unit.

So like I honestly don't think Fox was in the wrong for killing fives. If I was in Fox's shoes I would have also killed him if he threatened me with a blaster and refused to listen to my instructions

"Deserved" is a strong word when you literally had no choice. You were raised to obey. I know that Disney flipped the lore upside down and inside out but the Legend went on mentioning that the clones did not have malicious intent or harassed citizens according to their mood. They just obeyed their orders to the best of their abilities. They were told to be harsh and thats what they did cause even in their birth pods they were flash trained to follow orders. Beeing mad at clones for doing the only thing they know in life feels a bit wrong. They probably also felt horrible because their brothers were dying on battlefields far away while they had relative comfort on Coruscant despite their thankless job.
Imagine being trained to fight and work your whole life with your brothers as a soldier then after that training they're like "Yeah you guys guard this planet and if you make the people hate you you're not doing your job"
They were following orders and good soldiers follow orders imagine if they didn't arrest Ashoka because they personnaly felt she didn't do it or if fox didn't shoot fives when getting a gun pointed at him by what to everyone else was a mad clone . It's a shame that the orders weren't nice and for good but well orders are orders .
Plus the Fives order came from Palpatine, who is basically the most beloved man in the Republic. The Ahsoka arrest was headed by Fox, who did show genuine concern for his men when he saw what he thought were 3 shock troopers cut down by Ahsoka. As you said, clones are genetically programmed to follow orders, which is a damn shame for some.

The Coruscant Guard should have had their armor made out of the Senate Commando's left pauldron. That thing can absorb some hits from a blaster and would make their lives a lot easier.
i quite like the look of coruscant guard, sadly as youve explained they were bullies so nobody liked them but in star wars bf2 i usually have their skin activated
Hello, three years later. But I'm the same way. I usually select the Coruscant Guard in Battlefront 2 (2005 modded version). I just really like their red and white armor and the fact they also have electrostaves.
How was killing Fives bad tho? He was under direct orders to kill someone who had officially attempted assassination on the chancellor of the galactic republic
Interesting you brought this up, as while the National Guard of any given U.S. state might be directed to help with natural disasters, with Coruscant being an ecumenopolis, did the Coruscant Guard have an absence of natural disasters for which they can render aid?
I wonder if it would have been better for battalions to swap Coruscant Guard duties after some time, after harsh battles perhaps when the soldiers needed downtime and a cushier job, thus allowing no one battalion to have the easiest or worst depending on your viewpoint job for forever. This solution brings its own problems but it is interesting to think about

Yeah, I'd be pretty depressed too.
I love the Coruscant Gaurd. They’re trained for tactical close quarter fights and crowd control. They’d be useful as a squad in cities on other worlds where there is a CIS presence
I can't really bring myself to hate any clone on account of being created to be a disposable soldier and being indoctrinated as such without any choice of their own.
Not all the clone coruscant guard was bad however, there were the clones Thire, Jek, and Rys who were awesome. As they fought with Yoda on Rugosa, and helped and protected each other.
Controversial statement here, prolly gonna get a lot of shock, but I genuinely like Corusant Guard. I mean, yea, they killed my boi Fives, but it was one guy who killed him, not the whole battalion. At times I have mixed feelings about the Guard, sometimes I hate em, other times I don't, but all the time, but I do like the Corusant Guard and you can't change my mind.
Not only that add to the fact this mad batshit insane clone was reaching to his blaster putting you and your men in danger. It’s literally just Fox doing his job
I'm late, but there is a real phenomenon that backs this up, described in a book I don't remember the title of with the real stormtroopers (or Gestapo? Don't remember). Basically those who were committing attrocities in the German army were initially kind and normal, but as they were sent to face atrocity after atrocity they underwent a transformation that made them heartless and cruel. With that in mind I can't really blame the clones in coruscant because of the violent nature they were tasked to do
The only clones I liked from the Coruscant Guard where those 3 clones from episode 1 of Season 1 & then Commander Thorn with his crew making their last stand
I love the Coruscaunt Guard. They enforce peace and provide efficient security. That's why I formed my own personal security force; The Krimson Guard. My private army is modeled after the Clone Shocktroopers.
Courasant guards, not to be confused with the Sentinel Corp, who actual when out in the galaxy to protect places not covered by the bulk of the GAR. their main distinction is their lack of red on the chest and parts of their helmet. I feel they have been grouped with the guards even tho they are actual Kaminoan clones and not the discount special.

Not just picking up, but pointing at Fox, so there wasn't much room for interpretation. Not to mention Fox is one of those rare breed of Commanders who cares for his men.
By the time Palpatine dissolved the Senate fully in favour of using the Death Star to enforce his authority, presumably most of the clones in the Imperial armed forces had long since been forcibly retired. But I still like imagine that those Coruscant Guard Clones who were still around all got together and threw a huge party.

@@cassielov3 nah dude, what I hate them most for is gunning down fives
@@jadonweaver2196 that too
Just the tip of the iceberg tbh.
Maybe if Ahsoka turned herself in and let herself stand trial maybe people would be more fond of them
Maybe if Ahsoka hadn’t been framed as a war criminal maybe people would be more fond of them
"Deserved" is a strong word when you literally had no choice.
Person: i hate you
Coruscant guard: me too
Imagine being trained to fight and work your whole life with your brothers as a soldier then after that training they're like "Yeah you guys guard this planet and if you make the people hate you you're not doing your job"
Imagine being assigned to protect Padme and she protects you instead
@@electricfeverx976 I know, it’s really *fucking annoying* how everyone acts like fox is satan.
"Good soldiers follow orders," Said every defendant at Nuremburg.
@@artemismoonbow2475 the clones don’t have a lot of free will…
They’re programmed to follow orders without any hesitation.
Almost like flesh droids…
A regular soldier is not raised from birth to follow orders.
@@charadreemurr8673 Said every defendant at Nuremburg.
Seeing how Star Wars protesting works would be really interesting I like to imagine a lot of that was going on during the Zilo beast fiasco and during the birth of the empire
“We absolutely loathe the coruscant guard”
Speak for yourself man.
Not Thorn
“Protecting Jar Jar Binks is a fate worse than death.”
Stone: “Protecting the most destructive weapon in the Galaxy is easy once you learn how to use it right.”
Honestly its nice to see that i relate to the Coruscant Guard for once
*I hate their lives too*
srsly
hay there not all bad becuse thron was one of the corucant guard and they look cool
@@andrewaftontheandroidhedge2780 hey they're not all bad because thorn was one of the corucant guard and they look cool

But yea not all are bad I agree
I laughed after he explained the clones had a hard time refraining from killing the senators themselves and gives a scenario of having to put up with Jar Jar
*The Coruscant guard is basically just the swat team of starwars*
Gonna be honest I love the Guard, fox is genuinely one of my favorite clones
🔫
You're not alone . . .
Yes me too!
Imo they have the cleanest uniforms in the republic army along with the 104th Wolfpack.
When I was younger my brother and I called them the ketchup/mayo troopers. :)
Then they killed Fives. :(
After that we called them assholes.
Everybody asks where’s the Coruscant Guard but nobody asks how’s the Couruscant Guard..
How’s the Coruscant Guard?
The Coruscant Guard should have had their armor made out of the Senate Commando's left pauldron. That thing can absorb some hits from a blaster and would make their lives a lot easier.
You are missing the fact that they were engineered to serve palpatin, it's not like they wanted to that stuff, they just did
Say what you will, they're the best looking clones by a long shot.
1:57 Uh were they not slaves? Willing involvement? Bruh clones had no rights don't be like that :(
i quite like the look of coruscant guard, sadly as youve explained they were bullies so nobody liked them but in star wars bf2 i usually have their skin activated
Hello, three years later. But I'm the same way. I usually select the Coruscant Guard in Battlefront 2 (2005 modded version). I just really like their red and white armor and the fact they also have electrostaves.
After what they did to Fives there was no going back.
How was killing Fives bad tho? He was under direct orders to kill someone who had officially attempted assassination on the chancellor of the galactic republic
@@LucyWest370 it’s treason, then
@@LucyWest370 that was lame he should’ve been stunned at least not killed
Fox should've been demoted or court martialed for killing his brother
Vader did what the fandom would’ve by force pushing him off. And I respect so much for that.
Wow, those clone guards are like the American National Guard but getting WAY more dislikes lol 🤣
Well there's a massive split peeling off the good from the bad
oh look a nazi insurrectionist trying to save his palpatine ;)
It’s like a mixture of national guard and military police
@@snoopy_peanuts_77 Is there a reference I am failing to remember here?
Interesting you brought this up, as while the National Guard of any given U.S. state might be directed to help with natural disasters, with Coruscant being an ecumenopolis, did the Coruscant Guard have an absence of natural disasters for which they can render aid?
People keep on forgetting Fox was ordered to kill fives by order of counselor Palpatine.
These boys would probably agree with Spar's idea of executing prisoners instead of taking prisoners.
I always love the shock troopers in the episode ambush
I love the facts that rex and ashoka didn't bury any of the courscant guard as they were definitely on the venator when it crashed
bc rex and ashoka knew those guys weren’t shit lmao
I'm pretty sure she did
I’m not sure we saw any Coruscant Guard on the venator. The coruscant guard are meant to stay in one place - coruscant. It’s in the name, really.
there were those guys acting as mauls guards
Then by that logic Ahsoka didn't bury 90% of the Venators crew. The graveyard looked around the size of maybe 2 platoons max, which is around 60 men
There's one Coruscant Guard member I have the utmost respect for.
@Zawad Zarif Commander Thorn

@@ma2tw683 FOR THE REPUBLIC!
I wonder if it would have been better for battalions to swap Coruscant Guard duties after some time, after harsh battles perhaps when the soldiers needed downtime and a cushier job, thus allowing no one battalion to have the easiest or worst depending on your viewpoint job for forever. This solution brings its own problems but it is interesting to think about
Great perspective & observation friend! Yes, could have been beneficial for the Clones to get that much needed down time. Ease the ptsd & or boredom.
Imagine if a coruscaunt guard flipped and just mowed down a whole protest of people
Where is the the image at 4:50 from, I really like it.
9:45 *curfews and quarantines! & check points to where you have to show papers to access certain activities! well, at least it could never hapn here.* _(or it would sound like a really good reason)_ . gr8 vid.
i still think that the courscant guard is awesome especially commander thorn
Imagine being a Clone, going through your training with your brothers and being ready to go to the frontline to fight for the Republic, only to be yoinked from your division because you said "Palpatine seems pretty cool" once, sent 3000 levels below the surface of Courascant, and told to beat up a random person who was unhappy because their house was demolished.
Yeah, I'd be pretty depressed too.
Can You make a video on the different types of Sith in the reconstituted Sith empire
Commanded Thorne was a Chad compared to other clones
this makes me like them even more than i used to
I love the Coruscant Gaurd. They’re trained for tactical close quarter fights and crowd control. They’d be useful as a squad in cities on other worlds where there is a CIS presence
I can't really bring myself to hate any clone on account of being created to be a disposable soldier and being indoctrinated as such without any choice of their own.
millions didn,t suffer because of them, millions suffered because of the whole idea of creating them.
Palpatine, the sith, and the Empire will always be the good guys in my book.
Same here
Coruscant guards when the CIS besieged coruscant "finally a worthy opponent..."
Not all the clone coruscant guard was bad however, there were the clones Thire, Jek, and Rys who were awesome. As they fought with Yoda on Rugosa, and helped and protected each other.
Assigned to Jar Jar Binks. A fate worse than death.
I mean, not wrong.
They're basically the Praetorian Guard, really.
Who?
Actually Jar Jar earned the respect of his Coruscant Guard escort when he saved and led them to victory against Hondo's pirates.
When you spend your whole life training to be the best soldiers only to exclusively get escort missions 😫😂
Sometimes I wish we could see the Rebels fight Coruscant Guards.
Awesome! I have the triple threat of notifications lined up in a row: Geetsly's, The Braved, and The Front.
Another finely crafted reference to the third reich.
Gotta love George ^^ So the Coruscant Guard is equivalent to Hitler's SA
Yeah they thought mr moustache was good as well when he was being evil.
@@LucyWest370 Pretty much yeah ^^, like Palps he built a facade of being a ruler for the people.
You can clearly see a lot of parallels
Pretty much, yeah.
I love the Coruscaunt Guard. They enforce peace and provide efficient security. That's why I formed my own personal security force; The Krimson Guard. My private army is modeled after the Clone Shocktroopers.
5:37 G-man spotted! ;)
"there is the risk of being assigned to protect jar jar binks"
welp that is what you get for killing fives
Courasant guards, not to be confused with the Sentinel Corp, who actual when out in the galaxy to protect places not covered by the bulk of the GAR. their main distinction is their lack of red on the chest and parts of their helmet. I feel they have been grouped with the guards even tho they are actual Kaminoan clones and not the discount special.
I thought this was a Star Wars channel... so it's interesting that you did this video about police in the US.
the only good alien is a dead alien. and also thrawn, he's a good alien for sure.
As bad as protecting Jar Jar is, what would be even worse is if they were assigned to protect Senator Hyenard.
Me: oh cool you're a clone trooper what battalion
Clone: courasant guard
Me: oh. well then Beep you
They can arrest you for that I’m pretty sure you can’t offend the feelings of a police officer
That's the same thing as cursing at a real police office. It can get you killed or get your ass kicked.
@@kingnamor777 killed? Holy crap yo where the hell you from

Clones assigned to the Coruscant guard- All my years of training lead up to this?
The Coruscant Guard: Years of academy training wasted!
1, the Coruscant guard was kind of just doing their job. And Fives did in fact resist by picking up the pistol.
The worst thing about being a Coruscant Guard is dealing with "Karens"
It was very dangerous for the guard to be forced to work with Jar Jar... just ask one of the people killed because of Jar Jar, Senator Kharrus.
I’m probably one of the few who really like the Coruscant Guard. I think this is probably only due to their awesome red markings. And Thorn of course.
That photo in the first few seconds of the video was badass
At least they look cool, I like the red and white arc shock troopers.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't think they looked cool.
That is true. I love their armor. Plus red is my favorite color too.
