I somehow missed this video when you uploaded it. I really appreciate all your research and explanation. It took me a while to figure out the extractor issue the first time I took mine down.

I have a couple model 10's. Always enjoy your videos. I'm always surprised every time I watch one of your videos that you don't have a lot more subscribers. Keep em coming!
Thanks for the kind words. Are your model 10’s kind of......finicky? Believe it or not, 80% of my “views” are from non subscribers! The same watchers that don’t subscribe. 80%!!! If they would just click the subscribe button......huh? But, I never solicit so it is what it is.
Thank you! Was reassembling and couldn't get the threaded end to go all the way in the receiver. Watched other videos, none makes any mention of the extractor needing to be in the fired position. Watched your video "pull trigger that puts extractor in fired position"...voila problem solved!!! Thanks!!!!!!!!
There is a relief on the barrel that is supposed to allow for reassembly, but it doesn’t really work as well as relaxing the action. Glad I was a help!
This is a great informational video.. I was given one of these by a old lady this week that was in a barn and pretty rusty.. it’s cleaning up well I just need to disassemble to work on the rust 👍
During Covid I had been Laid off from my press position. So I sold my fire arms collection to make ends meet. Shortly after during the BLM fiasco, we had some riots on my side of town, my Wife was upset so I went to the local pawn shop and picked up a model 10 for $165.00 including tax. Mine is marked on the side of the cocking rod /Trade Remington Mark and on top it’s Dated patents Feb,3,1903 .May 18 ,1905. Above that is Remington Arms Co,Ilion ,N.Y U.S.A. It has been fitted with a rubber butt plate from the 1950s which I intend to put back original. Someone at the time also shilacked the shit out of the Corn cob grip and butt stock which has preserved it. But is going to be a nightmare for me to restore, and eventually I will restore the gun. Thank you for the information.
I just saw one at a pawn shop for $259 with the same patent dates. I'm doing homework on the gun before deciding if I wanna purchase, which is how I found this video. How has yours held up for you?
Sold one for 500 cash they bring lots more they say in 2023 a fine pump u do not get quality like that in these over priced junk cheap crap they been makeing for awhile it's a keeper won six times straight at a turkey shoot out shoot my model 12 and it's slicker to model 10 is a keeper

Another John Browning Design of Awesomeness The Only Remington Shotgun I Would Ever Own Besides a Model 11 😊😇😊John Pedersen Apprenticed/Mentored Under John M Browning
According to the book, Remington shipped it’s first batches of (pre model 8) Remington Autoloading Rifles in October of 1906 in .35 caliber only. Your serial number should be LOWER than 2266 to be a 1906 production.
@@bubbaalamo9128 If that’s all I have to go by all I can tell you is that it is pre 1911 if it’s Remington manufacture. Your serial number should definitely be less than 26489.
Yeah, Pedersen was very complex at times and his designs are very unique. I'll tell you this......that flapper seems delicate and the bottom ejecting while loading a new shell through the same opening seems a bit "busy" but it throws the ejected empty shell further than any shotgun I've ever seen. If not careful you can hit a guy four spots away in the head when trap shooting. It flings them 30 feet away! Not exaggerating!
Pederson was better suited to fine tuning other peoples designs...when designing from scratch he tended to make things overly complicated bordering on the ridiculous. The model 10 is one of those, the flipper gets worn and out of time. Gunsmiths hate them, in fact few alive will touch one. While an intriguing piece of history and an interesting addition to a Remington collection, don't buy one with the intention of making it a regular shooter.
Nothing bad about a rem 10 o r best pumps ever made all the crap bout gets out time no it dount last a live time over 100 years plus I got no hoe take down clean lube and put it back together it's slicker then my model 12. Yea a classic find turkey gun in full beats most all out there it's a tank
Not necessarily out of time but as they wear, especially on the flapper edge, they start to hang up during the cycling process. Very good design that has lasted the test of time.
