- Time to get our repairs going on the Remington Model 121 Fieldmaster. With a born on date of 1947 this iconic John Pedersen designed Remington .22 S/L/LR chambered pump/slide action tube magazine fed repeater was purchased as a non-functional "gunsmith special" from a LGS and sat for a number of years on my back burner as it would not feed from the magazine correctly and my few attempts to fix it were unsuccessful. Then, you guys came along.......
Brought out for filming of a short form video to just feature it quickly "as is" turned into a fascinating exploration into the refinement of the Remington Model 12C by designers C. C. Loomis and G. H. Harrison which gave birth to the Model 121 in 1936 and the patents they have for the changes they made which led to a deeper understanding of exactly how it works and what was causing the rifle to malfunction. We purchased a part on eBay that will hopefully remedy the "no feed" problem......come along and see if we are successful!
Here is a link to the original Remington Model 121 video..........

Thank you, thank you. I spent hours trying to fit this piece in a Model 12
Great content as always. Thanks!
Nice Repair 😀😊😀😀
Thanks Milsurp!!
Hey hey hey!
@@MilsurpGarage Hopefully we can do a new collab soon on the .32!
@@mannygrossmanI’m putting together a game plan as we speak for a video on the subject for a Manny Grossman exclusive!!
Another great video on a classic piece of iron! I’m like you, never shy away from buying an oldie and fixing it up.
You can still get 22WRF in a CCI round- I have a few boxes. It’s like a 22 Magnum short. But they’re jacketed instead of plated I think- I bought some to use in my Ruger LCR, but they specifically say not to use in a revolver because the jackets may cause the rounds to get stuck in the barrel- I think you could shoot them from a 22WMR rifle fine though
In the Model 121 I would stick to Long Rifle…..and nothing even remotely hot.
Thanks for the shout out…..honored to hear you praising the channel….but you must realize I learn just as much from YOU. Love your presentation and professional manner.
BTW, found a golden nugget yesterday and I’m finalizing the deal….stay tuned for a real head turner……for guys like US anyway.
Thanks for tuning in.
😂I already knew it was the firing pin. The one on my grandfather’s broke. It would fire but not eject.
It was the “cartridge retainer” that was missing, not broken, that was causing my issue. The firing pin was fine. These are frequently missing on these models as they fall out of the action on disassembly and are either lost or discarded.
