  • I've tried to see if you can actually destroy scout after shooting it through ATP Black Hole.
    Hope you enjoy it as much as I did playing this game.

    Wow, I know they wanted the ATP to tank the hit for a few seconds, but that thing is just _actually_ tanking a supernova.

    The luck of the ship landing on hollow lantern and not on lava was insane!
    No return due to duplicate signals is a neat touch

    Well damn, it does makes sense, the scout recalls itself when in danger. and i see you checked the ATP if the other scout was inside of the shell. Still wondering were the game is keeping this other scout tho.

      I think that someone said that maybe it's a visual bug, because for some people it appears there and for others don't

    i got a VR mod for outer wilds, and my friend keeps picking on me for my reactions while playing it. Every time i get into the ship i do this think he describes as "a child asking to be picked up by their parent".... on top of the time i broke the fabric of spacetime. In VR i kinda panicked a bit when the effect started emitting from the duplicate probe, and because of that i tried to cover my face with my hands immediately resulting in the effect going over my ands and ending up on them, which caused me to freak out and i literally tried to shake the effect off of my hands.

    Huh I thought there actually was a way to lose the scout in the normal game level. I have definitely seen "connection with scout is lost" in normal gameplay before without the use of the ATP, but I don't know how it happened. Maybe having the scout landed inside the interloper when it gets destroyed by the sun? Or the Sun Station? Also disappointing that the duplicate scout can't be found.

      it happens with the eye, but not sure if with anything else

      Normally when the scout would be destroyed, it recalls automatically

      it also happens if you happen to shoot a falling platform on brittle hollow and it falls into the black hole. probably just a glitch tho

      It normally happens if you put the scout on the quantum moon, or if your on the moon launch it away and out of the fog.

    throw it at the eye of the universe, or on the sixth quantum moon location, after you've sent it back in time, or feed an anglerfish.

      Sorry for late response. I've tried throwing it inside of the eye of the universe and see if there will be any change in 14.3 billion years later scene, but it's the same.

      i think this is because the eye of the universe is a actual different scene entirely. like, it loads a whole new level, and unloads the previous level. so anything you do before the warp is undone@@crozmo25

      @@librariantopokemon That's not entirely true, it only loads a new "scene" after you jump into the vortex at the Eye. I think it's already fixed, but it used to be possible to softlock at the eye in older versions of the game this way, streamer PointCrow accidentally almost did by going through the black hole and then to the eye in the next loop, with just barely enough time before breaking spacetime to get from the Vessel to the vortex (his playthrough is available on YT)

      @@Juni_DingoI tested that one and successfully broke a game save by sending the Scout through the ATP, and then activating the Vessel’s teleport as End Times played. What resulted was a game save where I would load in at the Eye orbit, the sun would immediately go supernova in the distance, and about 15 seconds after loading in, spacetime breaks.
      Going through the warp to the eye planet doesn’t stop it, the only way to undo it was to start a new expedition from the main menu.

    I wonder if you first shoot the scout through then next loop shoot the scout away and jump through yourself thus preventing it from ever being shot through would them game consider space-time destroyed?

    Is it possible to skip the Statue Link, and enter the ATP as the supernova goes off? Or does the supernova not trigger until you're paired?
    I know you get a unique ending for taking the power core and fleeing the system, though.

      Yeah you get unique ending, but the 22 minutes cycle doesn't start until we are paired with the statue, so therefore supernova won't trigger.

      @@crozmo25 And, to add insult to injury, the sand on Ash Twin won't start flowing, so you can't even get into the ATP in the first place, because the teleporter is buried.

    Would it be possible to spawn our entire ship in there with a dev console to make it travel back in time?

    Maybe you can try placing scout onto the ship and sending it into the sun with the ship?

      @@crozmo25 what if you send it into the eye of the universe? After you do this, it can't be recalled but it also isn't destroyed (tho we can't know)

      @@hugo_670 I think because when you enter the eye you can't break spacetime anymore so everything goes back to normal and the same cutscene will play at the end of the credits

      @@crozmo25 this can be a litle too late but actually it can be break the space time even in the eye, i see a couple people actually die before entering the observatory of the eye, if you think about it make sence since the eye still in same space and time than the rest of the universe so that can affect the eye too.

      Didn't try it, but I think you are right, you can still take damage on the eye of the universe and I also tried it shooting it on the eye and you can recall it there actually. Kinda weird

    If you launch the scout through the eye of the univers at the end of the game it will not return back.

      Yeah. Think about when you recall scout YOU send signal to it, but since there is two of them (because of time paradox), the signal doesn't know to which one it should go. Now, when the scout flies into lava, I guess it has some automatic recall system, which activates on itself, so there is no signal at all.

      In theory that might do something, but in practice, the Eye is located on a different level in-game, and as far as I know, the only info that is transferred through the levels, is how long the cycle was for (so you can see the exploding sun). If you attempt to break space time and go to the Eye, the effect wouldn't be shown there

      @@spynderMK actually that's wrong, in my playthrough I jumped in the ATP black hole before goinng to finish the game (didn't notice myself being in two places at once), and when the sun exploded while I was at the eye I had the broken spacetime ending. It scared the hell out of me and confused me a lot.
      It doesn't trigger if you do jump into the eye though, at this point you're on track for the ending.

    Can anyone explain what was the goal of this video and what actually happened? I didn't understand a thing. Were there 2 scouts after they shot one in the black hole? And why destroying one would make anything happen?

      If you shoot your scout through ATM, it will appear in the next loop as a duplicate. Normally, upon shooting a scout in next loop, you can't recall it back, since there are two of them, so scout launcher doesn't know what to do and does nothing. However, scout, by itself, has automatic recall system, which will force recall him back to the launcher, if scout is in danger (being engulfed in lava).
      Destroying the non-duplicate scout in the next loop will cause a destruction of space-time, because you have no scout to shoot through ATM and therefore, no way for you to have a duplicate in this loop, but you have it, so here goes game over.

      He sends a scout back in time, so there are two scouts in the next loop. (The second scout is not visible due to a bug, I think.) If he does not send the scout back again in the next loop, it is a paradox and the spacetime will break. He is testing if it is enough to destroy one of the scouts before the loop ends, instead of sending it back in time again. But he fails to destroy the scout.

      @@crozmo25 Placing it on the dam on the stranger can't destroy it. It just falls to the riverbed when the dam breatks. Kolo did that once in her stream.

      Casualty was violated.
      Due to timetravel, there is a duplicate scout from the physical future.
      Due to the presence of the duplicate timetraveled scout, it means that the "normal" scout has to go into the core - the scout NOT going in the violates causality: for things to occur, their cause must occur.
      Destroying the non-time traveled scout broke this basic law of space-time: we have an event that has occurred, but the cause of the event never occurred and can now never occurr how its supposed to.
      Space-time collapses under the weight of this literal nonsense.

    Game: You're floating in a 0G space (mass from surrounding planet roughly evenly distributed around you in all directions). Forms a kugelblitz with a Schwarzschild radius of several meters only a few meters distant from you. You feel zero gravitational pull from the beast. 🤦‍♂
