In a game that is all about fearless exploration with the end goal of outrunning a supernova, it is fitting that the speedrun is not glitchy at all except for the launch code part. All players are expected to master those mechanics, although definitely not to the same extent.

Just finished the DLC myself so started checking out the speedrunning content now that I don't have to worry about spoilers. My god, you are a master of your craft, this is seriously impressive! Congratulations on the sub 9!
How do you practice tricks like escaping the bridge of the vessel during the warp? bc obviously if you fail the trick you can't try again without doing a whole 'nother run.
the SpeedTools mod has a variety of features that make it easier to get back to certain points in the game, including some specific states to practice from
Insane amazing gg. I gotta ask--is there a tool you can use to route the timing of the planet orbits, or is it just trial/error/game knowledge?? This looks wildly complicated gg again
We have a tool that maps out the position of every planet over the course of the loop, and we also have a record of when all of the different warp alignments on ash twin are. Very much a necessity for routing, especially with shipless categories where things get more complicated.
....is there a universe in which one could hypothetically scout-boost _away_ from the big bang well enough to survive? I assume it just reuses code from the supernova so it'd fizzle out past like 15km or w/e
Yes you can actually scoutboost away from the big bang and escape it if you use mods to boost the power of the scout. Juliuscube did this and posted it in the discord a while back when we first discovered the scoutlauncher could move you there.
Why is it quicker to glitch out of the vessel instead of teleporting down? I'm trying to picture how long it normally takes, what do you shave off by doing this?
Like a minute and a half. It takes a while because the eyes gravity is really strong so you have to walk real slow. Leaving the vessel immediately skips all of the walking and takes you to the next phase.
The rate at which the time passes while sleeping depends on how powerful your system is. Pausing the timer while sleeping maintains parity so that you wouldn't lose time simply because you're playing on a slower machine.
