- By all accounts, the Nexus 5 is the farthest leap forward of any Nexus to date. Features like the much-needed LTE connectivity, a snappy quad-core CPU, and the 4.95-inch, 1080p display put the the Nexus 5 on roughly the same playing field as today's top-tier flagships, but is that where the similarities end? Join Joshua Topolsky for a hands-on review of the Nexus 5 to find out, and be sure to read the full review at the link below:

This review needs to SERIOUSLY be updated since the phone's inconsistent battery and poor camera were both fixed in 3 sequential updates within one month of this review.
How are people saying the verge is biased? This was a very thought out review and he said very good things about the phone while also saying bad things about it which are obviously present. In fact he even said it felt better then the iPhone 5s. I think you people are confused
Yeah. I am, as far as I know, an Android fanboy tbh. And I didn't find this video biased AT ALL. Some people just have to bitch about regular stuff. That's, like, their JOB in TH-cam. :|
Verge IS biased and loves Apple unconditionally but this review actually is not, but that's, frankly, quite rare.
This review completely ignores the fact that this phone costs 350
Read our full review for our thoughts on the price and relative value of the Nexus 5.
....why didn't he talk about the price?
Its around 300-350$
The price is a very important factor in our full review. Check it out at the link in the description.
Please give our full review on the site a look. We cover the price analysis quite thoroughly.
Read our full review, we've got actual test samples there.
What does he want for $350? Maybe Google should make a phone specifically for him at $700 with a better camera, any color he wishes and maybe he can grow a bigger pair of hands too.
I love the production on the Verge's reviews. Well done.
The price is a major aspect of our full review, which you can find at the link in the description.
So glad I run adblocker on iVerge videos
I tried it, since this was a verge video, I couldn't hear about the device he was reviewing. You must be a lucky guy.
a great review from Verge.. I just wish all product video reviews are longer like this!!
Thanks for your impressions!
Read our full review, we definitely consider the price to be an important factor.
I really like his tone and the inflections he uses during this review.
why on every android phone review on the verge i heard the word "iphone" more than the name of the device reviewed?
Great review josh!
Great review once again, Ordered mine yesterday, supposed to be coming tomorrow, cant wait!
Awesome review! Love Verge!
If you look back at the last Vergecast, you can see that Josh's phone is a Moto X.
Great review Josh. Just ordered mine as early birthday present to myself.
Nice to see Josh reviewing products again.
Good review, but one question, did you clean the camera lens?? From other reviews I've seen, N5 takes amazing pictures, even better than S4....are you sure the lens is not smudge?
Glad to see Josh doing a review again. Fair review. I hope Google can fix the camera problems.
Solid review. Answered pretty much every question I had about the phone. Good job Josh.
Send us a video response and tell us how your experience was
The price was an important aspect of our full review, which you can read at the link in the description.
Really great review man. Amazing

This was a fantastic review!
I'm glad Josh reviewed this
I appreciate the heads up about the camera. Do you think downloaded the focal beta from the play store would serve as a fair alternative?
Excellent review!
Josh doing a review? Sweet
Please give us the link for the wallpaper
I’m really excited for that “Hangouts” feature
Please do more reviews Josh!
Great review, Aaron you are the best reviewer!!
i'm currently torn between the nexus 5 the g2 and the htc one..which one would you guys recommend?
I have an iPhone 4s, would this phone be a worthy upgrade?
Thanks, appreciate the editorial. Offers a bit more than the usual read-the-spec-sheet reviews.
0:43 - A little bit off topic but, how do you add that flicker animation? If anyone knows? That's cool. Even have seen that in MKB's videos.
I'm waiting your review, MKB! I'm from Brazil and I like your videos so much.
I wonder if the battery issues have to do with a battery wear in period.
Really nice review :)
But is your DSLR unlocked?
very thorough review
good work ....
Josh makes pretty solid reviews
Glad to have you, Cheese!
Hi in view of battery would you recommend this over lumia 920?
I appreciate the honesty of you, I still want one
How does the nexus 5 put up with the htc one?
he says compared to AMOLED and apples retina. amoled is a type of screen, retina is a marketing term that means nothing at all, the iPhone has an LCD screen
Ken Kirtland what would you expect from them?
Should I get the Nexus 5 or the iPhone 6?
Where can you get this phone now knowing that it's not available in the google playstore can someone please reply back asap
Do you know if I can use my iPhone 4s SIM card in the Nexus 5? (AT&T)
Do you recommend it for nexus 4 users?
Still rocks today!!! Wish I had mine
We didn't forget the price in our full review :)
How much storage space do you have from the box with a 16gb? No reviews seem to address this.
Does it have a notification LED? I haven't been able to find anywhere if it does or doesn't :S
Great review
Which do most people prefer, the black or the oreo version of the Nexus 5?
How much space does the os take?
May I remind you that this 2013 PHONE HAS DOUBLE THE RAM OF THE IPHONE 6!
Getting mines on Saturday butshould I get the Nexus 5 Or Moto G?
Is there an IR blaster on this device?
This is one of the best reviews I have seen, thank you so much, helps me take a decision!
This is it! The review from Le Verge!
Fair review. Good job Verge.
That was one amazing review.
Should i upgrade from galaxy s3 to nexus 5???

The ad before the video was a Verizon one! LOL
whats the package forwarding service? i checked amazon, ebay and best buy and the nexus 5+ the shipping is very expenssive
What kind of notebooks are those?
Fabulous review.
what is the car game he was playing called
Anyone recognize what notebooks they use in these videos? I'd like to buy some.
Nice review
love Josh doing the review, he paces himself well, delivers points in a clear cut. and not having a buttload of information thrown at me within 5 minutes is pleasant.
I am not sure if I am right or wrong... but at 5:03 when he was demonstrating the "Android scrolling problem", the webpage hasn't finished loading? Surely he should wait till the webpage is fully loaded before testing the "scrolling problem".
battery is improved with new update. Im on 17% with moderately heavy use at 1d 5h and 8m
Josh, this is easily the most professional review you've ever done. Keep it up.
Awesome review! The verge reviews are the best. I am gonna have this device. Hope they launch it soon enough in India.
That would depend on where you get it.
On my nexus 5 when i say " ok google now" or " ok google" nothing happens, i have to manually click on the google now microphone for it to work. Anyone know a fix for this?
It seems that the verge is the only blog that found the nexus 5 camera to be bad. Could it be a preproduction unit?
