Not many Malaysians know who Julien was. Now more Malaysians will recognise him as the landscape architect for beautiful landscape of Desa Park City. It must be Julien’s pride and he lives in it too. Great vlog documentary on Desa Park City and its historical development.
Thanks, Taylor! Just as soon as MM2H returns, I plan to move permanently to Malaysia... Desa ParkCity is where I have been planning on living... Specifically, Park Place, when it's completed. Great cycling, great walking, geat shopping, and dogs!
Fascinating. I am 65 and hoping to retire from LAPD next year. For years I have thought about retiring in Malaysia. I also have a master's degree in Landscape Architecture. So this episode really caught my attention!! How did a guy with a master's in landscape architecture end up working for the police? It's a long story.
My wife and i are in the process of buying a condo in North Kiara which is near Desa Park. It is beautiful and one of the best parts of KL. I'm still in the US working but our apartment will be our second/retirement home once we are ready in a few years. Hope to see you in KL one day, Andrew!
Oh my gosh but we live in the same compound! We are proud resident of DPC: it is a great place to live and we are happy to know the history of this development which we think is really unique! Thanks fo the interview!
Wow, It must be so thrilling and satisfying to be able to live in a place of your dream especially when you are the one who designed it! Well done and thank you Andrew for introducing DPC. Another great effort. All the best. ❤
There are 2 lakes in DPC: man-made and natural. Decades ago the natural was accessible, and eventually closed off after the man-made lake was completed adjacent to The Waterfront (retail shops and offices). By end of this year the natural lake will be reopened together with the spanking new Park Place luxury condominium
Nice meeting with Mr. Julian. Glad to be intro to DPC. Interesting to know how these properties were designed and how it has been created. The finished work really great. Btw, I like the contrast between colour of Andy and Julian's clothes. And the green plants. Awesome 👍
Definitely KL is a nice city to retire in South East Asia for those who seeks city life surrounded by parks. There are other places to explore too in Malaysia such as beachfronts, rural, and most importantly it’s a relatively safe place with affordable amenities and healthcare 😊
Your interviews and videos of what Malaysia looks like and what life is like for people who have chosen to live there are so helpful for someone considering Malaysia in the future
Masterpiece and such a joy to hear Julian explain the scaping of Desapark City. We visited it a few times and looked at staying there too, but for us the attraction of KLCC just made us decide to go downtown. But it is a gorgeous development and now we know who to thank for that😊
Another great video. I had never wanted to visit Malaysia until I watched some of your videos. You are a natural commentator and a delight to watch. Thanks for your continued information about your life in this beautiful place.
So cool to see this video! Have been a subscriber to this channel for quite a while - and the content here supported me in the decision to move to Malaysia. And now I see a video in Casaman - and I live here 😅
Thanks Andy and Julian, and congratulations on completion of such a stunning property. Desa ParkCity does seem to have a unique and comfortable vibe. Unfortuntally many of us who would love to own or live in such a property are unable to meet or put off by Immigration requirements. Any insights or novel ideas in how we might navigate such challenges would be greatly appreciated .
Really enjoyed your video. Thank you to Julian for the background story of the project development. Fascinating what innovative design elements have been created from a quarry to a lush and serene park city. This is one of my fav episode you have done Andrew. Kudos to you for the great work always. Much Aloha from Honolulu Hawaii.
Great to meet the man behind the amazing design and landscaping of Desa Park City.Sounded very unassuming and had a great advice on how to enjoy best of Malaysia as an expat. Great video Taylor. The best of what I have seen from you so far.❤
What a lovely interview. Really good to see that you met lots of wonderful expatriates in Malaysia. The Desa Park City is a beautiful place to stay. The waterfront is stunning.
1993, that's the year I joined KLCC at the site office. There were many international firms, professional consultants, project contractors involved in the development of the KLCC project from masterplanner, architects, engineers. KLCC learned a lot from the building technology from the western professional consultants.
Thanks a lot indeed for the valuable and interesting information about this beautiful and great city. My friend and I started thinking of retiring in Malaysia.
Hi Taylor..thx for sharing this video.. It's interesting to know this amazing quarry to become a beautiful place and the people who manage and designed it especially Mr Julian.. it's brilliant.. i hope to see more videos like this in future.. 👍
All of your videos are very informative and helpful but one friendly suggestion is that your video screen is very bright and difficult to see them in night mode hope you will fix it so we can enjoy your content
My Taylor! It’s been six days and I don’t see any new videos 😭😭😭 Hiw do you expect me to survive this long without seeing you?!! 😢 I’m having a Taylor drought! 😭😭😭
That's my Dad, feel proud running around that lake as his daughter ❤️
Wow ! Since your dad has been here in Malaysia for 31 years, you must have spent your entire life here ?
@elimlinrr6898 Yeah I was born in Malaysia, lived there until I was 18 then went to the UK for university

Desa ParkCity is beautiful and the before and after pictures are amazing. It's wonderful that Julian took time be interviewed on your TH-cam channel.
Property prices in Desa Park continue to climb. Such a successful township.
